Btw I know you don't often watch foxnews but many do. Hill used to work for them until he was fired. He was often on Bill O and everyone with a working brain knows he speaks for the left. Its something foxnews has been doing for quite some time now, having differing pov's speak.
The sad, sad thing about this is you actually believe this guy Hill 'speaks for the left', or that the fact that Fox has selected him to do so gives him any credibility or legitimacy when he supposedly does.

There's nothing I can say to you that could convince you otherwise, and any attempt I might make would instantly be labeled in the word of the day, which is apparently smear.

Rage on.

It doesn't tell her what she wants to hear. Just for laughs I wonder if she would claim to be open minded? When is it enough? The Pres is on 60 mins often now telling the hacks what they parrot in the so called schools and halls of gov.
The professor sounds a lot like you, Chris - and I'll bet you don't even know it.

No rage at all, still have to take it easy here. No, the sad thing is the amount of time you insist your what you paint yourself, less of a partisan. I do think he has some credibility not so much becasue he was on fox and now cnn but because he is a professor. Nothing I can say or post will take your off your points so I won't bother. Going out tonight with the wife!

Why bring up something 4 years old? Each time somebody on the left says something and gets caught in no time thinkprogress or other hacks have an example from the right. Its like 7 year olds, he did it first! Again no rage. Last night perhaps, now I find it just sad this excuse of a man sees it fit to excuse evil.

You can post that you harbor no rage all you want, Chris, but the mere mention of anything or anyone you consider to be 'on the left' shows your denials are hollow.

It's not a question of 'he did it first', Chris, although I can see how it can be taken that way.

It's what people involved in certain politico-entertainment ventures do, and it doesn't matter if they are left or right. The more shocking the opposite view presented, the better it is for the ratings, the more 'reasonable' the moderator can pretend to be.

I don't think Beck spoke for 'the right' when he attempted to attribute the murderous rampage in Alabama to 'frustration with political correctness', even knowing that there are some people on the right just gullible enough to buy into it.

I don't think Hill spoke for 'the left' when he attempts to rationalize/justify the actions of the ex-cop who went on a murderous rampage in California, even if there are some people on the left just gullible enough to buy into it.

The left, Chris, ranges everywhere from Joe Lieberman or Ben Nelson all the way out to (real, not those so labeled by political enemies) socialists, communists, anarchists and other crazies. The right ranges from Susan Collins all the way out to (real, not those so labeled by political enemies) fascists, white supremacists and other crazies.

There is no such thing as a spokesman for 'the left' or 'the right.'

If you're asking me if I'm aware that the United States had been putting increasing pressure on Japan to end its aggression in China - pressure that ultimately resulted in sanctions that cut off Japanese access to American oil and steel, among other commodities, the answer is yes.

What's your point?

I believe the North, and Washington, pushed the South into secession. Just like obama and the Democrat's disastrous policies will force voters to the polls to vote in a Republican sweep in 2016. You can only take so much before one is forced into action.

You can believe anything you want, bobin.

Whether or not it's true ...

What actions did Washington take to 'push' the South into secession? I mean, seven states seceded between Lincoln's election and inauguration, and Buchanan (who preceded him) bent over backwards to accommodate the slave states at every opportunity - as had Presidents before him for twenty years at least.

Rand Paul has been (thus far) smart enough to avoid publicly embracing the whackadoodle theories of his father on foreign policy, so I don't know if there's anything to the distinction you're trying to make.

What I'd forgotten when I posted about Ron Paul is that Pat Buchanan also promotes theories that we 'forced' Japan to go to war with us.

In looking into just how far and fast the 1941 version of Truther mental affliction is spreading these days, I did come across a book published late in 2011 called "Freedom Betrayed: Herbert Hoover's Secret History of the Second World War and Its Aftermath". I'm trying to get that one from the library, and if that fails I guess I'll break down and buy it on Kindle.

So ... you made me think, at least.

Many left that some time ago. As you know when the dear leader was first in office I was out in Ca. working about to be let go in a month. I gave the example to my friend that suppoted O saying I'm not gong to spend any money knowing I'll be out of work soon, why would the gov do it? So my friend voted for O again. There is no excuse for it. I guess Harkin feels like he can say what he really wants since he won't run again. By his logic and O's shouldn't we be doing much better? Just read this morning we talking about another push for going green. How has that worked so far? Nissan is pulling back as nobody wants the ev they have.

I never said there was Willie. My point is that this guy Hill has been around for a while. My hope is that few if any would support his wacked out pov but the game is get the other guy (side) whatever. My metion of it is becasue this forum is on politics, no? I have a passing interest in it but its not my passion. You don't buy that so be it. Most of my interest was formed no doubt from living in the Washington beltway for some time.
