OKB's Answer: Blame Bush...
"Bush took a lot longer to investigate 9/11."
However by this time after 9-11, the Bush administration had determined who and where the culprits that planned the attack were, and President Bush had already formed a coalition of international forces that were driving the Taliban and al-qaeda out of Afghanistan.
BTW, presidents don't have the power to control Congressional scheduling, and apparently the Democratic Senate and the Republican House did not feel there was any need to do an in depth investigation of 9-11 until later. Probably because they already had the results of the preliminary investigation by the Bush administration, and action was already well underway to destroy and disrupt the planners and their bases.
In the current Benghazi situation, after over two months we have no investigative results and we have no retaliatory actions against those responsible. Heck, we haven't even identified those responsible as being representatives of radical Islam.
All we've officially received from our pResident and his administration... false and misleading statements claiming the attacks came from demonstrations over a video released months earlier.
A huge difference in how a Bush Presidency with strong leadership, and the meek obama pResidency handle these situations.
If you don't know who is investigating Benghazi and you don't remember the the House and Senate investigations of 9-11 then what good are you?

I don't have to. Unlike Palin, the Obama campaign team owned up the mistake and admitted it was a mistake.

But then Obama is a Democrat and Palin is a Republican, so what did you expect?

About like yours. But when someone did get out of line they were shown the door. No food, no goodye. They could come back in a day or two or a week depending on what they did. But I was there to serve them, not be abused by them. Everyone deserves respect.

On another thread, several folks are happily bashing the President's daughters, spouting some fol-de-rol about inappropriate conduct in another country, and calling them the very names posters here have so vehemently objected to. These are CHILDREN, being pilloried and slandered by the 'right', and as far as I'm concerned the people hurling such filth are just as repugnant as anyone who has disparaged Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachmann, or any other public / political figure.
And should be considered equally irrelevant to the public political discourse .
I have noticed something on this thread. There are those that actively seek to find anything, true or not, that can be used against the left. Funny thing is those on the left don't necessarilly do the same thing to the right.

A judge imposed restrictions on worker earnings etc so enough workers stayed home to keep the factories from operating on a profitable basis.

It is in the news if you bother to look.

<quoted text>You (and others) absolutely refuse to believe that what Bobin (and others) is talking about is NOT reversing Roe v Wade. We want sane limits on abortion. Is that really too much to ask, that they not be partial birth, let the baby die once it's born etc. and that we don't want millions in federal dollars we don't have to go to pay for them? I think it is called compromise, I thought that is what Obama wanted.
Obama doesn't want anything except socialism and him at the head of it. Apart from that, good post, Lis.

Pardon, but that's wrong - even with the not-so-covert couching. I've done it myself - and I'm routinely classed with the 'leftists'.

It's surely just election season high spirits...once the furor dies down, the thread may level out a bit, and return to those good old days of yesteryear.

One can hope - but I think counting on it is a losing proposition.

This is comical. seems to me that yes many of us were here to have a nice discussion and you and others would routinely ridicule and go beyond the limits of civility. We fight back and NOW the thread has gone to heck. Okay whatever way you want to paint it.

No BH, I wasn't talking about disaster supplies, I was talking about food drives I organized to support our local Delaware food bank/kitchen... usually around Thansgiving and Christmas, when people were in a charitable mood.
Although some folks did appear to be career homeless, some of them appeared to be just like me, but they had fallen on hard times. Either way, people need to eat, no matter why they were there, and our department was very happy to be able to help them.
I'm shameless, I was also responsible for the United Way program one year... I had the food bank's people come in to speak about the good that they do at our kick off meeting.
It does give you a good feeling, helping like that, though, doesn't it? I don't like people in general, and the feeling is returned, for the most part. But I do like helping out when I can. Same for you, I'm sure. The helping that is.

Isn't this book the opinion of Icke's?? Many people believe they have the "answers". We have at least ONE of them posting in here.
But our "system" is the only one we have, and has worked pretty well over 2 centuries. Icke will hafta do much more than write a book.
David Icke has written many books. He has done interviews with thousands of people. Not trying to be disrespectful towards you but it's not really wise to make a statement about a man when you have no idea what he's about (ref: Icke will hafta do much more than write a book.) I'm telling you, this book was so intense I had to put it down for a bit and then pick it back up a few days later. Don't knock it till you try it is applicable here...

Those 18,500+ Hostess employees will be in next weeks U.S. Department of Labor's "Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report" if you bother to look.

All may not be lost, they're union, maybe barry will have us bail out their union benefits packages too, like he did with GM... and stick the taxpayers with the tab.

Willie must have given you his "bama blinders" TM when he left. That's the only explanation for that statement.
