I don't think it'll be a problem, as long as you put a "shovel-read" sticker on the shipping label.

And? That means nothing. Simply saying that 'white people' are God's chosen people conveys superiority.

Are you going to spew the bilge about you not hating next?

If being one of the "chosen people" of your god proffers no advantage over the unchosen, then what exactly is the payoff?

I have a feeling Southern Man isn't coming back. Good riddance. We know him for what he is, and he can't handle that.

You know, for all the disagreements and backbiting that goes on in here, I don't think any of us regulars is a racist. That's one thing--maybe the only thing ;)--we all seem to have in common.

*sigh*

Listen, Ben, since you're obviously brand-new to topix.com , let me give you a piece of advice. When choosing a thread to visit, it's a good idea to see how many posts it already has--how long the thread has been running. If it's a long one, like this one, the focus of the thread has probably changed significantly.

For instance, this thread has been running for at least 5 years. In spite of the name of the thread, the regulars here rarely talk about Bush. The focus is mostly on current events.

Having said all that, welcome :)

And if the Atlantic was calm (or even the Gulf to use todays news) there would not be tides or storm surges. The Gulf Stream would not flow either, would it?
In a house, is the air pressure higher at an HVAC vent going into the house or the return register taking air out of the house?
consider that when it is high tide on the US side of the Atlantic it is low tide on the Europe side. The same thing probably happens in your "calm" pool unless you can think of a reason the sun and moon would not pull on the water in your "calm" pool.
So, it's a story about tides, big deal. Tides have been happening throughout global warming and cooling cycles throughout the ages, even before man.

Are you saying that the water level in a calm pool is higher in some places than in other places... not counting where it touches other surfaces?

Go back and read the article again. You brought out a false premise to attack it (the calm pool theory of yours) and it was shot down using calm, reasoned logic.

What I said was that I see no reason the sun and the moon would not exert a pull on the water in a pool any less than it does an ocean or other large body of water. The only thing that makes it noticable is the relative size of the body of water.

Do you have anything that says different?

What part of "all at the same level" did you not understand? Water seeks its own level, regardless of the configuration of its container. Duh. Perhaps you're unfamiliar with this item

I shouldn't say it but will, can it be any worse? One thing that blows my mind is the number of high voltage lines that come from power plants on wood poles around here. Really? With Fl. weather I would expect more on metal as in most other places. And each year our rates go up they should do more imo for preventive maint, we know its only a matter of time before the next storm that takes these lines out.

I think this fella is using topix as an advertising tool. It's done all the time under the guise of participating in discussion.

Not sure. I think they have done good work and still be a help for people that struggle with this. I know both my wife and I have. As I've said my wife went much futher down this path than I did but before we ever met found new life in Christ. My guess is after reading this esp with the outlook from the guy that once worked them and now is working against them its just politics. Really imo it has nothing to do with what Christ can do. And here is just the song to highlight it!

Nope, I believe in tides. I don't believe global warming is causing the North Atlantic to be higher than the South Atlantic or the Pacific. I do believe we are going through another of Earth's global warming cycles, and I also believe that some things do effect the sea levels,(that's why sea-level is a measured average of tidal heights).

I also believe there are more people on the Earth than there were prior the current warming cycle, and as I said, I believe we are going through another of Earth's global warming cycles... however, I don't believe that one necessarily affects the other.
