Ugh, my family. I'm in IT, but come from a family of racist redneck truck drivers and equipment operators, and all they talk about is highway miles from this place to that place and where to get coffee and catfish and such.

I make an appearance, scarf some food and go to the house.

My family annoys me,We make an appearance eat and leave and spend the rest of the day just my hubby and me.

I'm indeed saddened by some of the comments made here. If one would read about the Pilgrims and all the trials they went through to start a new life, and yet they stopped and gave thanks for what they had. And look at us now, with all the bounty around us, why are some of so bitter?

I love Thanksgiving. Family, good food. Plenty of story telling. What a great way to pass along the family history.

About the only thing I don't like is that most friends on topix are gone. Beachball and WWA do pop in and out and in and out and in and out.

Pretty much the same reasons as last year.

There is a good chance country will loose it's sovereignty due to its economic condition, the bought and paid for politicians, judges, cops, and churches.

What are you so thankful for?

All holidays that were of the old country (the United States) are now meaningless. That is not to say you can't keep them in mind and think of what would have been if the people weren't so complacent and allowed the fall.

Who are the Detroit Lions?????? How do you have thanksgiving without the turkeys??????

I just hate Dallas. My family annoys me too but not as much as watching Dallas cows.

I do have a lot to be thankful for... good friends that have supported me when I needed it; my kids are well and healthy; I have a roof over my head and food in my belly.

But, as I write this my fiance is sitting in a jail cell 2500 miles away, awaiting trial for a crime he didn't commit, and getting beat up by corrupt law enforcement officers.

That last paragraph is kind of funny=is there anyone in jail who did commit a crime???? If he got beat up by the cops it was probably because he was carrying the required allotment of donuts.

Thanksgiving is a great holiday. You get to spend the day eating, watching football, and just enjoying the company of your family and friends. What could be better?

Yes, there are people in jail who committed the crimes they are convicted of. But due to our screwed up legal system, there are a lot of people who are innocent. In my fiance's case, we have the evidence and witnesses to prove his innocence, but that doesn't guarantee that justice will be done.

He got beat up, because we're having the nerve to go public with the story, and expose the corruption going on.
