We just lost our ST. Bernard mix, "Wishbone". Found him the other morning, I thought he was asleep on the front lawn, but he didn't move, he was old, poor guy, he was too heavy to lift, so all I could do was to tie a chain around his leg and drag him out to a field with my tractor, and bury him there, I just hope the coyotes don't find him.

We also had another German Sheperd, Lab mix, "Princess". Who was hit by a pickup , her back half was completly shattered, but her front half was still okay, All I could do was to comfort her while I put a bullet into her head. That was very hard for me to do. but no choice.

We live inside a 60 acre farm, not close at all to the road, so our pets have plenty of freedom , but too much is not a good thing, one of our cats were taken by a coyote, another by a stray dog. etc, etc, |

Thanks, animals seem to come and go here, We also had beehives, but the lizards ate ALL of the bees, the lizards got REAL big, until all of the bees were gone, then the lizards returned back to normal size, kind of scary to see these big lizards, like Godzilla! |

All you need now is a "tazmanian devil" or an aquarium filled with "angel fish" |

ok I take back the invisible fence, that would be thousands of dollars! I had a cat attacked by three stray dogs in my yard once, it was horrific... I still think of this when I see stray dogs in my yard. Just three weeks ago my little dog "Philly" got parvo. The vet was sure he was dead and we could not afford to keep him there. I could not bring myself to just put him down so I brought him home to give him a chance. I took off two days of work and nursed him 24/7... he is doing great and the vet offered me a job LOL. but he was the first dog I felt so strongly for... I hope your next pet or current pets are with you for the long run! |

Great story, I would have put him dowm myself, I'm glad you took the time to nurse Philly back to health. We had rabbits inside a large pen, but a coyote got hold of him somehow from the outside and tore him up. We had another rabbit dig a real deep hole to get out of the heat, and we didn't see him form weeks, so I covered up the hole, well a few days days later, this rabbit digs himself out of this hole, but he was too weak to survive. |

Dogs are work, Mine will get to be only 9lbs. He thinks he's as big as the real big dogs and tries to rough house with them. I guess a frog would be a cute little pet, but even he needs care of his cage and his food. They aren't as much work as a dog. I don't think any pet is as much work as a dog. Our puppy is so cute but LOTS of work. I'd be curious what pet you decide on. Good Luck. |

Cats are cute and quiet but that cats box can be a smelly mess. My hubby cleans our cat box. Ever since I was pregnant, I stopped doing it, and kept it that way. lol Yes, the hair gets everywhere. I opened our drapes and found hair inside them. Another job for the hubster. |

I have 12 pets. 4 mollies, 3 guppies, 4 neon tetras, and one cat...if it weren't for the cat, I'd have 4 guppies.

Hmmm....somehow, I have the feeling you deal with plenty of something "brown" in your house/yard. |
