Do you regret NOW having voted for John McCain?

I do. I guess I was swayed by Sarah Palin's no-nonsense dogmatism and irrational maverickablity. But now I'm just
sad I wasted my vote. The Republicans have just laid down and died. Oh, sure they are pretending they are just waiting for Obama to fail, like that status helped Bush, but I know they really have no ideas and aren't even trying.
And their mainstay of inspiration, lobbyist donors have failed to give them tasks to do. Nobody spends money on a loser.

It's not just him of course. He's gone back to his maverick ways, taking both sides of every bill before the final vote is in. But that's politics.
I just am satisfied that if Obama's people are in charge at least Bush's people are out. They made the mess. McCain might have done better, but only if he'd had the power to push them out, but I'm not sure he could have done that. He owed too much to the Republican establishment.

I do regret that McCain was the presidential candidate for the Republican party. It should have been Huckabee and Sara Palin instead, and it wouldn't matter which one was presiden and vice president. Romney would have been an excellent person to have been put over the treasury dept.

It is true and you know it. McCain wouldn't even defend his running mate against his campain people. From appearances he threw the race. When he should have been going after Obama, McCain would choose to back off and give Obama a free pass. Now why wouldn't Huckabee and Palin been better for the Republicans. They weren't as liberal as McCain. They were for cleaning up Washington. McCain would have been forced to walk the walk as well as talking the talk.

I regretted voting for Ralph Nader right after the election when he said Obama won because he had the "advantage of being black".
Sorry for posting on a dump on McCain thread, but nobody is going to make any thread for Nader.

Huckabee was more liberal than McCain if you by his record as the governor of Arkansas as opposed to his campaign speeches. Huckabee is a Republican evangelical preacher who *gasp* actually practiced what he preached about helping the poor. Meaning, as governor, he supported raising taxes and higher entitlements for the underprivileged. His embrace of Fair Tax policies didn't come until his presidential campaign. Funny, Mitt Romney also suddenly changed just about every position he's ever held since he was governor of MA when he announced his intention to run for president.
