I think the thing about landing on Mount Ararat was invented to explain why seashell fossils are up there. Actually it's because of tectonic plate actions, raising the sea floor, not high sea levels.

How did the boat anchors get there?

Also, how do you explain away that you can see the Ark in Google Earth?

There's way to many insects to deal with.
And what happened with the birds? Some are water fowl but don't fly in storms. And they eat the insects.

And what about things that don't come in twos? Lots of those, like bees.
If there were no worker bees then the queen and drone would die in 40 days.

There are plenty of TRUE regional flood stories.
And there were REAL arks that traveled the Nile, big scows taking dozens of animals to sell to farmers along the way. These were documented in hieroglyphics and existed into colonial times. During a major long rainy season they could be washed into the delta silt islands where nobody else was, and it would be the same story if they couldn't get back.

your reference to bees, how does evolution deal with this problem? Where did the working bees come from in order for there to be a queen???? hmmmmm??? Ooooops,

That is what I thought...

Of course not. It is a book. All it does is lay there.

The writers, on the other hand, were often either lying or ignorant (or both), as the Bible contains many thing which are just plain wrong. Not to mention the many contradictory statements it contains.

As with so many of the Bible stories, it is borrowed from another culture's mythology. The Noah's Ark story is just a poor retelling of the Utnapishtim flood story from the Epic of Gilgamesh.

The Ark is fading away, like Charon's boat to Hades.

Thirty percent of U.S. adults say they interpret the Bible literally, down from 40 percent during the period 1980 to 1984, a Gallup poll indicates.

The Bible is full of inconsistencies ...
I, me, myself am of the opinion that the Bible is incomplete. I do believe the Bible is the Word of God ...I do believe in a Supreme Being.
My reservations are; I believe text has been lost, and/or purposely omitted to suit the agenda of certain people(s) down thru the ages.
I also believe that what text remains has been twisted to suit the needs of those particular people. I also believe a measure of truth is lost or embellished ...or could have been lost or embellished in the number of times translation has occurred; be that translation thousands of years ago, or today.
I am also of the opinion that a measure of truth can possibly, even probably, be found in all of the worlds followers irrespective of their individual beliefs ...regardless if they believe this, that, or something else ...to include beliefs that are lost to the world forever.
As I've stated before I'll state again; belief or faith is an individual thing ...a relationship ...personal. You will not find in any house of worship at any time, that every soul is identical in their respective, personal beliefs. Everybody leaves their own footprints.
Translation leads to understanding which leads to classification, and in the macro is the root of evil. The followers simply get in line with what puts less strain on their lives at any particular moment in time. If it weren’t so, people would not change from one house of worship to another.
Classification is not limited to macho, capitalistic, individualistic societies such as the USA. All the worlds’ peoples engage in it. It's the story told in Genesis and how the serpent tempted Eve ..."you can be as God".

I would like to know why you are using my Topix name? I looked in your skimpy profile and you have used the Capital I for my l in Old and School to register this name.

I can be found most everyday in the Why Should Jesus Love Me room should you care to discuss this. I intend to take this to Topix for correction and removal-- Judy

Then why did he have the ark in the first place?? He could have destroyed everything he wanted and left behind all he wanted to save. Just another fairy tale from a book full of tales. The world is full of good and evil so why not concentrate on the good that is in the present rather than living in the past?? Keep living in the past and it will become your future..........

Since the average person has millions of intestinal bacteria, I wonder how Noah managed to get it down to only two of them to be shared by himself and his family? How did they swap them back and forth? And why did he need two anyway since they reproduce asexually?

I'll bet the dinosaurs knew the real truth and that's why Noah had them murdered.

Most people can not tell the difference between a myth and a documentary. Same people also tend to rub manure on their shoes.
