It was on a Saturday as well.. Two years ago on a Saturday we were in the ER.. I remember the code blue call over the intercom..I just knew it was Lynn.. This was about the time they put me in a hospital room as I became an ER patient.. A whole bunch of cardiac type tests.. My children were pretty worried.. The idea of losing both parents must have been a real bummer.. But, alas God called Lynn home and spared my life, for awhile at least.. For some strange reason we all enjoy returning there.. I remember how tough it was at first.. We drove thru the cemetery on the way home.. Some good size trees were down.. We also drove past my cows.. Yup, they were there standing in the stream trying to cool off.. I think they are a new bunch because Bessie nor Molly recognized my car.. They used to spot us and come a lumbering toward us.. They look so much alike it is hard to tell them apart.. From a distance at least.. Our public library is now offering free Wi-Fi.. Nice to have another spot to go to, just in case.. I could probably hook up from the parking lot.. Hope you are having a nice day across the lake.. Ham Nothing strange Ham about returning to a place where so many good memories live. We do the same in Joshuas memory too. And God spared you because He knew His plan for your life wasn't finished yet. You have touched countless people thru this system called Topix. And that especially includes me. Do you know that I don't have the foggiest idea what Wi-fi is. Kids are running around with Ipods and I don'[t have a clue about them either except the download music and of course I don't know how to download anything. Oh well, if it rings I answer tee hee. I guess I am truly old school. The cows sound like they were smart standing in water to cool off, I love the scenery in my driving, I see so much farm country. The other morning I saw two horses running around the corral and there tails were flying in the wind, that was so awesome. I knew you would enjoy your lunch with your daughter -- I love to hear how you two share your time. Lovingly Jute

I've read some reveiws on Cassidy and people were saying that it was a boring book compared to Lori Wick's other writings. I have a bad habbit of getting bored with books. I got bored with The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe! But Cassidy kept me very entertained. I read it in like 2 days. Cassidy is 1 of 3 in a series. The other two are Sabrina and Jessie. But I don't think Jessie has come out yet. But I think it's coming out later this year. But I read that Sabrina is about a prostitute who tries to turn her life around. And of course our old stomping grounds is Daytona, Port Orange area. But I know that I will be close enough to be able to come several times and I so enjoy what you bring to this room, that I can't wait to have a seat in your audience. You are truly gifted Denie and annointed as well. People leave churches for reasons they make issues cause they were looking for a reason to begin with. So with putting another on a guilt trip they can feel more justified. God knows the purity of heart. I trust that. I too believe the Holy Bible from cover to cover and what a sad day is coming when they remove it from everywhere. and we both know that day is coming. I have been heartsickened by X lately and all that he is doing trashing the very existance of God. He sure is fighting hard to establish his points. To view posters that are so vile the devil has got to be dancing is just a previiew of what is coming. So in all you do or any of us here to keep the Word strong and faithful, I know God is smililng down. Much love my dear frriend -- Jute Dear Jute, You bless my heart. I have seen what you are talking about. I have seen the progression of different posters. They are much more pushy with their messages, almost urgent. There used to be more respect toward Christians, but some Christians get what they deserve. When ya go around trying to shove your theology down throats then the hair may fly. Sharing your beliefs and shoving your beliefs are two very different things. It does get tiresome when you are told over and over again that your beliefs/opinions are poppycock. On both sides of the fence. That is why I am very happy right here in our cozy thread. I have been in the other ones and have been disgusted by what I have seen. Again on both sides of the fence. Much Love to You, Denie I am going to Walmart to pick up 10, 2 foot subs. Our church is hosting the group of kids and sponsors called the World Changers. What a blessing these kids are. This is our 3rd year being involved with them. Subs, chips and soda. They will love this. For the next week we will feed these youth. Gotta go to Sam's on Monday. Stock up time. Kids can eat and need hydration. Please remember them in your prayers. They are fixing up an elderly couples house at no charge. What a wonderful group of Teens.

denie wrote: <quoted text> Hey Epi, I remember seeing Elvis at the Stokely Athletic Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. It was one of his last concerts. My Best Friend in High School begged me to go with her to the concert. Her name is Judy and she even bought my ticket. I went because she begged. Gosh, I am so very happy I let her talk me into going. The concert was awesome. Elvis was wonderful. He was wearing white with stones all over his cape. He was beautiful. He had gained some weight but he still was all over that concert stage. He died just a few weeks later. We were all in shock. I posted Ham a link to Jailhouse Rock. They really rocked that Jailhouse. I didn't realize that song came out before a I was born in 1958. The link had 1957 on the page. Wow that boy was rocking back in the stoneage. My daughter ask if I was around when the horseless carriage was invented. She said it with a smirk on her face. I said no, but I was around when the first wheel popped up. She and I both giggled. What a wise guy. LOL Love Denie Ahhh, another Judy who loved Elvis!!!LOL Yes, my son saw my high school yearbook picture (Class of 66) and I wore glasses then (black cat eye glasses with rhinestones)which was popular ...and he said "Sooo MOM...Did ya have many dates in High School"....(cheeky fellow) HA-HA

Thanks, Ham Hi Ham, I stopped to watch a movie and thought I would do a check in. Sounds like our gang is busy this weekend. Me I'm getting some much needed rest. I'm a doin just nothing but putting feet up and watching tv or posting. Indeed we are about to share a year on Topix, I looked up my first post last week and it said July 15th, and I like to think I've learned much and gained a lot of friendships along the way. Well another movie coming on, so I'll call it a night, rest well -- Jute

Pernrider wrote: <quoted text> Hi Brady, I guess I figure that the problem that your friend needs counsel for may be something that this pastor doesn't feel equipped to handle. He may not have had anymore training than one or two counseling courses in seminary (if he went to seminary). Prayer is different than counsel. No training required for that. Anyone, anytime, anywhere. There is something wrong if he won't pray with you. Now, that said, if your friend is a woman, he may feel funny being alone with her. He may want to have someone there with her as a chaperone/accountability if he is to meet with her for counsel or even meet with her to pray. I hope this gives you some direction. :) Mary Thanks Mary. I saw a difference in formal counseling versus prayer. i would stop and pray with a stranger in the grocery store if they were in need and asked me to do so. and I am in no way a leader in the ministry. i just think when people are down they will lose confidence in their pastor if he isn't there for them. yes, the friend is a woman. but she met him in his office (door open), so there should be no big deal there. it is really sad. really really sad. and preachers talk about reaching people. what the heck is someone who makes an appointment and shows up only to be turned away to think?

So scriptures point out MAN not Woman...I'm going to pray about this one... Thanks for your help! Hi Epi, I think I am thinking of different positions of authority, instead of being an Elder or even a Deacon. The bible does speak of woman in places of high authority. The Bible introduces Deborah as a prophetess and Judge of Israel. Deborah acted as a war prophet, a role many would think inappropriate for a woman. This brave lady was a leader. She also had the authority of two offices granted by the LORD. Often she has been belittled by the church, but God made a point of doubly blessing Deborah. Christ overthrew many centuries of Jewish law and custom. He consistently treated women and men as equals. He violated numerous Old Testament regulations, which specified gender inequality. He refused to follow the behavioral rules established by the three main Jewish religious groups of the day: the Essenes, Pharisees and Sadducees. I have many different passages of scripture that backs my post. I love that Jesus was for equality. I do know that the scripture says << Joel 2:28 >> And it shall come to pass after this, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy: your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions. Men and Women will both be Prophets or Prophetess. I love the next scripture Isaiah 40:5 Then the glory of the LORD will be revealed, And all flesh will see it together; For the mouth of the LORD has spoken." All flesh will see the glory of the Lord. I truly believe that when see or experrience the Glory of the Lord, that we are supposed to Tell All about it. Bless You Dear One, Denie

Good "Sonday" Morning.....
I don't have much time this A.M. so I want to send this prayer...
It was written by an anonymous Confederate soldier....
I asked God for strength, that I might achieve; I was made weak, that I might learn humbly to obey. I asked God for health, that I might do greater things; I was given infirmity, that I might do better things. I asked for riches, that I might be happy; I was given poverty, that I might be wise. I asked for power, that I might have the praise of men; I was given weakness, that I might feel the need of God. I asked for all things, that I might enjoy life; I was given life, that I might enjoy all things. I got nothing that I asked for but everything I had hoped for. Almost despite myself, my unspoken prayers were answered. I am among men, most richly blessed.*
Only in the darkness do we learn to walk by faith. (From... Prime Time with God)

Good morning Epiphaney2
Thanks for the beautiful prayer.. There is so much we can learn from our unknown soldiers.. I wonder how many of us would chose to be anonymous.. The poor lady from Wales story about her little child and Heaven has had a major impact on me.. Yet, she was by many folks standards a nobody..but yet one ov extreme wisdom.. I have always felt that God uses us ordinary folks to bring forth his message.. Even Christ's disciples were 12 ordinary men..
Thanks for the early Sunday morning inspiration..

Great experience for them and so appreciated by their recipients. Now your talking to a person who has been doing respite on kids for over 8 years now, and I agree Sams is our grocery spot. Some kids seem to have a bottomless pit when they come, but then again I realize many don't get the extra's at home. I say we tip our hats and bow our heads for these kids and encourge them every step of the way. Lovingly Jute
