So ok, Dr is even more repulsive than Skumbucket. I just made the mistake of reading "that" last post of his, instead of scrolling past as usual, ewwwwwwwwwwww how disgusting.

What a sick, sick, sick, creature he is.

Why should I change my mind ?
I have seen nothing from Christianity to change my mind in 40 years. All I have seen is, at best, broken promises.
That's sad.....

Even more sad that you believe that the posting you replied to is in anyway accurate..... Ah well, some may teach but not all learn, I suppose?

Why are you sad that I don;t need your religion ?

What does Christianity offer besides unproven promises of an afterlife that aren't available to everyone without your religion ?

Prove me wrong. Show me one thing, here and now, that you can do as a Christian than even an atheist can't.

It is well established on Topix alone that many Christians do the following:

Look down upon, insult, and hate others.
Feel superior without having to really BE superior.
Sin all you want and maintain the delusion you will still get a free pass into Heaven.
Blame all your shortcomings onto either Jesus or Satan.
And find lots of verses that can be used to rationalize doing all kinds of horrific things to your fellow man, and STILL claim you are holier than thou for having done them.

It is also fully demonstrated on Topix that many non-Christians have the following:

" love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control"

I have seen many Christians here and es. in real life exhibit the following:

"sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like." - Galatians 5:19-21

No matter how lovely the hills are...eventually you have to come down off the hilltop. What you find waiting for you might seem even less lovely than what motivated you to climb the hill.
I suppose that life needs a bit of both...a little valley...a little hilltop.
When I was a child I used to lay on my stomach underneath a grove of trees..watch the world go by. It was as if I was watching life happen from afar...mysterious and magical. Then my mom would call me to come home and as I came out from under those trees to my dismay...the world returned to normal...not as I envisioned it.
I long at times for that mystical and magical world...at times I get glimpses of it...then reality calls me. LOL
Sometimes we need to climb to the hilltop...just so that we can say we did...prove to ourselves that we can.
That's very poetic.

Happy New Year, Annie.

I just read a story on FB this morning about a woman's boyfriend who would always wave and smile at people when they went out....Alot of the people would just ignore him and move on. She said "Why do you wave and Smile and wave at people you don't know"? He said he read an article that a man said he was so despondant at one time....that if just one person smiled or acknowledged him he would not kill himself" (evidently he saw one)...and the boyfriend said..."I don't want anyone to die because I didn't reach out"
We must plan now for our departure...Whenever it is......
Let's all hope it's a long time into the future.

Happy New Year.

Happy New Years Eve......

“The object of a New Year
is not that we should have a new year.
It is that we should have a new soul
and a new nose; new feet,
a new backbone, new ears, and new eyes.”

New Year's Prayer

Lord, this year I want to change,
and I've said that in the past.
but now my prayer is different
'cause I understand at last.
I wanted my own way before,
I ignored your loving plans.
But now I'm putting everything
into your nail-scarred hands.

I promise to obey you
out of gratitude and love.
I won't be giving orders
to my Father up above.

I finally realize the truth
and so I've changed my prayer.
The safest place for me to be
is in your gentle care.

Please be my shepherd, Jesus,
that's all I ask of you.
In good times and in bad this year,
Take my hand and lead me through.

Amen.

Encouraging Words....

So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.
