As you start to be busier this holiday season- please take care to remember to pause and give praise to God for His provision in all areas of your life. Focusing on His gifts to you will help you to stay calm. The purpose for these holidays is to celebrate our relationship with God- not all of the fluff and putter that distracts us from His peace.

Posting verses which remind us.
His WORD-a gift to us from God.
(NIV)
1.Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matt 6:34
2.I can do all this through him who gives me strength. Phil 4:13

4.“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? Matt 6:25-27
5.But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves. Luke 21:14
6.Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken. Psalm 55:22

My favorite is PANGU!
"In the beginning there was nothing in the universe except a formless chaos. This chaos coalesced into a cosmic egg for about 18,000 years. Within it, the perfectly opposed principles of Yin and Yang became balanced, and Pangu emerged (or woke up) from the egg. Pangu is usually depicted as a primitive, hairy giant who has horns on his head and wears furs. Pangu began creating the world: he separated Yin from Yang with a swing of his giant axe, creating the Earth (murky Yin) and the Sky (clear Yang). To keep them separated, Pangu stood between them and pushed up the Sky. This task took 18,000 years; with each day the sky grew ten feet (3 meters) higher, the Earth ten feet wider, and Pangu ten feet taller. In some versions of the story, Pangu is aided in this task by the four most prominent beasts, namely the Turtle, the Qilin, the Phoenix, and the Dragon.
After the 18,000 years had elapsed, Pangu died. His breath became the wind, mist and clouds; his voice, thunder; his left eye, the sun; his right eye, the moon; his head, the mountains and extremes of the world; his blood, rivers; his muscles, fertile land; his facial hair, the stars and Milky Way; his fur, bushes and forests; his bones, valuable minerals; his bone marrow, sacred diamonds; his sweat, rain; and the fleas on his fur carried by the wind became animals.
The goddess Nüwa then used clay to form humans. These humans were very smart since they were individually crafted. Nüwa then became bored of individually making every human, so she dipped a rope in clay and the blobs that fell from it become new humans. These new humans were not as smart as the first."

.. I started to read the Koran but couldn't get through it ..
.. I have read two histories of Islam and both authors found the Koran rife with an endless stream of contradictions, violence, treachery and repetition ..
.. try reading The Book Of Mormon; it's the same thing - violent duplicity ..
It's interesting you say that, considering that your background's Mormon.

As for the Koran, it is extremely repetitive. But that's not why the Muslims couldn't convert me. It's because of this.

Today's Prayer

"Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen" (Ephesians 4:29). Father, I read this verse this morning and was reminded of how important it is to "be careful little mouths what you say" as that children's song goes. Please forgive me of being guilty at times of not letting the most encouraging and beneficial things come out of my mouth. Please give me strength and wisdom through your Spirit to think before I speak. I want the words that come from me to be words of truth, words of light, words that are appropriate for the moment and the person or people who hear them. I want those words to be honoring to you and instructional, inspirational, motivational, encouraging to others. I want to be one who supports others in whatever it is they need, so that they are lifted up and motivated to reach their potential...to glorify you...to be blessed and be a blessing. Thank you for hearing me, God. Thank you for your forgiveness and your light. In the name of Jesus I come to you, amen.

.. the BOM is much like the O.T. of the bible, battle after battle, good -vs- evil, etc. In light of recent discoveries, it's become an embarrassment to the Mormon hierarchy and LDS apologists now weave fanciful tales to substantiate its authenticity ..

.. there's doubt that Joseph Smith even authored the BOM. Solomon Spalding, a pastor and fictional writer, is the probable writer ..
