Was a tent meeting came to the area. A girlfriend and her parent invited me to attend with them. So I went to see what it was all about they had several evenings of meetings and I attend each and everyone of them. At the end of all of this they gave out Bibles to the ones who had attended all the meetings. That is how I got my first Holy Bible. I had my mother record in her handwriting the family tree and I still to this day have that Bible layed away as a treasure.

Interesting.

I still have "Man and Beast", a book my sister gave me for Christmas when I was about 10 years old.

I haven’t been on it so I looked it up. It sounds like fun. I’m glad you all got to come and enjoy it. Elvis music too, WOOHOO I know you liked that!:) Does your Sister like Elvis too? Someone said it had soul music. I like that.
They put on a wonderful show and various artists -- right to Taylor Swift LOL she was performing downtown Nashville that weekend -- motels were booked full everywhere.

My sister is like me we enjoy most all music.

Sure is worth the the time and money to go if you ever get the chance.

Never had very many books when I was a small tike. Had a six grade teacher who would loan me history books to read. Think I around fourteen when I got that Bible cause went out on my own to live and finish school when I was sixteen. Odd how one hangs onto items.

As a child I was surrounded by books and art. That I was blind most of my childhood made me appreciate them so much more.

We've got the wood pellet stove going for nearly a week now, it helps so the furnace doesn't kick on - also electric blanket on the bed -- it was 20 out the other morning when I left home --

I don't plan to transport much this winter - I plan to hunker down too -- maybe we will get more time to get a chat here and there.

Weather is messing up my computer tonight -- tis jumping all over -- Blessings to you dear friend -- talk to you soon as I'm about to call it a night. TLC

I'd bet you and the books have spent almost a lifetime together.
Did you ever take up any type of hobbies along the way.

Nor has it proved that there are no leprechauns or vampires. Are you waiting for proof before you stop believing in those?

Is that important to you? Does that affirm your decision to join them?
Here For Now wrote:
No that was not better, you don’t believe and it was said sarcastically. Sister, yes in that we all started from the same ancestors. Just not Sister in Christ. Jesus loves you.
Of course it was said sarcastically. It was tit-for-tat in response to your "Have a good day/night" at the end of a post that was nothing but a gratuitous insult.
Here For Now wrote:
I’m sorry Ians but your philosophy and vocabulary (your way of thinking) is of no use to me. That is why I read few of your posts. I’m not the only one that scrolls Ians. I don’t think you can say that you feel my beliefs are going to help you live a better life? Same difference.
I commend you for getting through this post without throwing in an insult or making a personal attack. Maybe your god is working through you after all, although I'm not sure that those are his standards, either. He likes to call skeptics some pretty horrible things himself.

That's the kind of comment that you think justifies hurling a personal insult back in return, isn't it? But if you'll think about it, it's a legitimate criticism of the message in scripture, which you should defend if you can, or gracefully disregard - not grounds for your wrath or contempt.

It's too bad if we have different opinions, and irrelevant to me that you consider yours holy and mine demonic. Those opinions are nothing but trash talk to an unbeliever. If you choose to express those sentiments with people that don't share your values, then you should expect some blow back.

That's a little strong. I simply don't care for Christian exceptionalism - the idea that you have special privileges or are better because you think you stand for a god. I'm merely returning to you what you dished out earlier. Do you think that that's unfair? I'll bet you do.

I don't care for your implication that whatever doesn't support your religious faith is evil or worthless. I realize that it is burned into you, and that you are only being as you were taught to be, but that doesn't matter much to me, nor make it right. You should expect to be treated as you treat others.
