.. your queries regarding my thought process require complex thinking ..
1. Control is an illusion.
2. When you know you are powerless, you become powerful.
3. When you become powerful, you surrender to What Is.
.. good luck figuring that all out. The HL scarf experience would help ..
Nah, I'll stick to the RR sammich experience.

It'd open your eyes ;)

There is a difference.
When I am refuting a claim, yes, I offer other information in support of that claim. I also point out how and why that refutes the claim made, in addition to the supporting information supplied.
I agree, you rarely do that.
Because I rarely copy/paste anything to make my point.

That Christians make a distinction between "Gods" and "gods" simply proves their own ignorance and/or deceit.
What sick and twisted deity demands it servants to be either very stupid or very dishonest ?
Thanks for pointing that out.

On a slightly different note...

I've got to point out as well that Psalm 82 mirrors Ugaritic text in many details, and it's thought that it has its origins in that culture.

In the Ugaritic text, the actual "sons of El" were being referenced(Yahweh, being one of those sons).

So'El' translates to 'God'.
Good job. You're learning.
LOL

You're really a pip, aren't you?

Apparently you're deliberately twisting words around.
That's ok, some xtians are noted for that.

Here it is in a nutshell. PLEASE pay attention.
"EL" was a >specific< deity<. He was the 'supreme deity' over all the other deities in the land of Canaan.

He was NOT a chief god of other lands such as:
Egypt, Mesopotamia, Indus Valley, Nubia, The Orient, the Americas and so on.
His was NOT a global reign, only in the lands of Canaan.

El also had a consort by the name of Asherah who was also a goddess.
The evidence is all there, in the Ugaritic texts which >preceed< the bible by hundreds of years.

Now, you can dance around this all you want, you can twist the posts around all you want, you can turn a blind eye to the facts all you want.
The bottom line, my friend, is that the evidence proves you wrong.

Ben alleged thet he himself is a deity.
You never asked him to prove it.
Go figure.
ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE, yes.

You are the one claiming the Bible is a pack of lies.

Yes of course I know that.
I didn't say otherwise.
I said the Tanakh is not the Bible.
Because it isn't.
According to the Hebrews it is. It's their message and book, not yours.

No. I think that no humans, small or large groups, are Gods or Godlike.
The Psalm agrees with me. It's meaning is really quote simple, the judges and magistrates of the time were considered gods, not a god and definitely not God.
If you think you are a god Ben, listen to Jesus:
"Hasn't it been written in your Law,'I said, you are gods'? If He called them gods, to whom the word of God came, do you say to Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world,'You are blaspheming'; because I said,'I am the Son of God'? If I do not do the works of my Father, do not believe Me..." John 10:34-37
Since anyone, given the circumstance, can be a judge or magistrate, et al, then the broader application stands.

Else, it >only< applies to that narrow section of people(recall your insistence Leviticus is only for Levites).

The same standard would apply.

G'head.... Do a miracle like God can do, then and only then will I concede and consider you a god.
Provide a miracle that is known and shown to only be done by your deity and you might have a point.

There you go lying again.
I have said often that I believe Jesus was the final Atonement for all Mankind (per Leviticus).
Thank you for proving you are a lair,
how could some one or soemthing that isn't Perfect/God provide a once and for all Atonement???

Why are you such a pathetic liar ?

Curious.
I have a very detailed explanation as to why I know the truth.
Ben gives this half-assed 'info' and you don't ask him the same....
You have a very detailed explanation as why you know the truth?
Now THAT is really funny, I don't care who you are.

Now tell me how the bhagavad gita is false without actually referencing the bhagavad gita.

You could also tell me why you're at it, why god made his followers so galactically dull and/or dishonest.

Legends aren't hearsay.
i.e. King Arthur and the knights of the round table do not count as hearsay, and that legend is as valid as the biblical fables.
Right.

Just using the Arthurian legend are the "facts" of that legend and we can't stray from those facts of the legend.

That doesn't mean the legend itself is fact, only that when discussing the legend, we can't suddenly insert that Arthur's real name was Freddy Jackson and that the round table was a booth at the Stop 'n Go Diner.

Unless there is some sort of legitimate evidence to back that assertion.

Surely the bible arrived with a bang in its present form without any human intervention of cherry-picking of the contents at all. No?
...Because, if the New Testament canon was selected purely for the parts which married up with the 'prophesies' in the Old Testament and more importantly, didn't threaten social order at the time... that would not make it a book of unerring 'god breathed' scripture, but more a manufactured book of 'what is currently convenient'.
Yep.

True.
Arthurian and Christian stories have much in common.
A believable story which over time becomes a fantasy epic.
Or...

A fantasy epic that somewhere along the way people began to think is a believable story, and should be believed.

Tintagel Castle which forms part of the Arthurian legend actually exists, and some places mentioned in the bible exist....ergo: both tomes are TRUE in their entirety!!!

I am joking of course(for the benefit of the 'religious' out there).
