I am not afraid of dying in a nuclear war. The chances are probably way better I'd get hit by a car and lighting at the same time and I don't spend time thinking about that either
The point was we have wasted billions as a human race arming ourselves in the name of "defense" to the point of sheep absurdity. Nobody needs the capacity to blow up the entire world more than once let alone hundreds of times over. And yes nuclear weapons have that capacity. Although that doesn't make man greater than God unless your idea of omnipotent and mine are very different. That money should have went to helping people
A good example of personal interpretation of your post ja?
mmmmm
… guess the name says it all...“dogs of war”
I'm sorry you were misread here my friend, as it was never intended it blow up in your face when it was I who brought up the subject.
… One doesn't need the nukes button to be trigger-happy in here when ti come to facing facts.
So will just leave it with your last statement
“ That money should have went to helping people.”

I believe within the whole - when it comes to the terrible suffering at the hands of mankind – in truth it is too late when it comes to the nukes – and any damage – being out-of-sight-out-of mind.
We only have to see how even Haiti and Japan are still under the cloud of where some real monetary aid could help in their cases be it Cyclone, Earthquake, Tsunami or Nukes, let alone since then in other lands...

So getting back to the spirit of prophesy, I still question why visionaries are remembered and even aired, but the now-times we live in - predicted by Jesus - are just swept under the carpet. It would be an interesting take if they would just see him to be as he wanted to be -'Son of Man'– and bring his message back down to earth for what it is. Prophesy... the sad part of it all are the false 'non-prophets' which have given him - and anyone else real - a bad name. It's a but like having to clean up the already damaging nuke waste and utilise the good energy within the atom. The atom of his words are hitting home, and no-one can block them out... but it's like no-one cares enough there.

The Christian faith does a hell of a lot of talking about hell fires – even saving souls like another notch in their belt – but no-one seems to understand the reality of is not a religious thing but a real and true down-to earth fact for the peoples of planet earth. Instead, those kind of 'terrors' are just entertainment, turned into gob-smacking sci-fi big time box-ofice hits for the coffers!

The end-is-nigh became the Christian calling card. The time frame being 'in this generation' according to the good book's now. The 1,000 days but a day in the eyes of God being space-time terms without measurement, but the real Now of Eternal ignored as a non- essential spiritual abstract term.
… and somewhere in-between the snoozing continues, making the wake-up call a joke.
I can well and truly believe the term “ as a thief in the night”... for it is already here. As Jesus would say himself...'at the door' or 'at hand'. Guess it just all boils down to the terms he so often used.“Whoever has ears, let them hear “
I think of Revelation 19:10 and even the way the Christian Church has also abused so many words for their own power and glory...
“ And I fell down before his feet to worship him. And he saith unto me, See thou do it not: I am a fellow-servant with thee and with thy brethren that hold the testimony of Jesus:“worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”
… next post reply to you.

I have wonder would happen if say somehow how technology or finances were wiped out and everybody was forced back to a level playing field.
The optimist in me says perhaps we would learn from our mistakes and start over with advancement as a goal as a race of humans and avoid nationalism and greed
The realist in me says it would be the bloodiest time in history as man butchered each other in an effort to be first to accumulate as much stuff as they could to regain the "glory days" of their materialism and greed. Whatever became the new currency or thing of value would be, the desire to have more of it would be the reason for savagery like the world has never seen.
Take care of yourself my friend

Even the folk on my little home Island live without the finances and technologies we know, and they are far from dumb lost souls of humanity for those who have the choice of how to live.

True... most folk on earth today are not equipped for this way of life, let alone would know where or how to start again. Guess living above ones means wouldn't be a good place to start, nor a dependant high-rise. It was sad enough seeing those in darkness with a strong sense of hopelessness just after the last big hurricane along the New Jersey coast, and into NYC with all the mod-cons switched off.

OT accounts tell of such times before in history... cannibalism is no exception even in acute mass hunger, let alone 'lights out'! It seems to be a forgotten attitude in life that no-one is exempt when it comes to catastrophes, but when all is going well, it''s a case of analyse – and even judge – our fellow man. Yet 'beliefs' are not important when it comes to the rescue game of who is who in life. In a life and death situation a Christian is only too willing to take an Atheist’s hand... so I don't understand why gender, creed or beliefs must rule life at all?

Where then is 'God is Love' if God rules everything or why is it such a big issue to war over 'beliefs' when the world still keeps turning without a disaster in it ? Is it the nature of mankind is simply to war... or is rising above this attitude the only way Jesus showed by example for each and everyone to be?

Hello PW. This is true. Hope you are well. I heard a pastor speak from Egypt Thursday. His church, among many was burned down but they still have church. The enemy will try but can't stop it. Love
you and your spirit of not giving up.
When we were in Egypt 2007, they kept their Christian link as a minute cross inscribed on the upper inner wrist. But regardless, even those Muslim were more friendly than I have even met with many holier-than-thou Christians, and their welcome warm and natural. No airs and graces, but good and honest friendship from the moment the guards personally escorted us from the plane to the taxi... and again every day where-ever we went.

Like all lands the news of the worst pockets of human life hit the headlines, but treatment of church buildings of this nature have been going on forever in any land opposed to the way Christians teat them![ or any other religious organisation...]
… Folk don't take such into consideration – evangelicals blow that up into a bigger issue - yet any can live in peace together – regardless of beliefs – under each others roofs and safety. These are unmentioned in news...

Spirit is eternal Bro... and is life! Look after yourself. And don't forget to count the blessings between all the crap either. They are the real jewels many times taken for granted until they are taken away...
Peace and Love be with you til again, and if you're ever back in Hawaii... my love passed on to the folk there too.
Maybe you'd like a song for good measure...
Take Care and God Bless... posted this one for Lawaest yesterday.

What bothers me the most about this is:
How RR and Skom justify RR' s criminal abusive behavior towards mankind.
We have RR hitting his wife via an admitted domestic dispute..
- now he's claiming it's the "egg donor" ( his words describing her) of his children that bit him-
not his current wife - but wife #1.
Skom defends his hitting her in "self defense"- I promise you - she was biting him in self defense.
The reaction of Skom and others, regarding this assault committed by RR, is why battered women
do not bother seeking help.
It's because of people like Skom and those making excuses for RR's battery
towards her - many battered women
perish at the hand of their abusers because of these uneducated people claiming
she "deserved" it-
And "it was only a tap"..
Also w the baby- where's there smoke there's fire- RR is either a total attention lunatic- and playing
Us all-
or- he's showing a slice of tainted humanity that's something worth looking out
for- and speaking against.
I would only pray if some crazy fool battered my windshield w me in it, that I lived long enough
to see his sorry mentally imbalanced a*s in a mental ward.
Prison can't help RRs way of thinking.
He's a menace.
Agreed. I never struck a woman in my life, even when getting beat up by my first wife.(too long a story and RR and RA will just call me a liar).

The basic premise of the US criminal justice system is that everyone is innocent until proven guilty. That axiom is predictated upon the belief that it is better for society in general if 10 guilty people go free so long as a single innocent is not wrongly convicted.

It is a difficult concept to grasp and stems from the Enlightenment along with democracy, freedom and secular courts. things the Church(es) tried to suppress for over a thousand years... and in many cases still does.
It aint necessarily so wrote:
<quoted text>
I think you're not viewing the legal system and the role of its participants accurately. The legal system has the responsibility for insuring that justice is done, not the two attorneys. It was decided - and I think that you might agree with the decision - that two (or more) people educated in the law would each make the best possible case for and against a defendant according to rules designed to make the process fair and efficient. The judge with is to be concerned with procedure - guaranteeing a fair trial - and the jury (or judge if there is no jury) with deciding the facts of the case.
But the attorneys MUST NOT enter the process in the non-partisan manner that is expected of the judge and jury. They are commanded by the system to be as partisan as the defendant's mother. They are advocates for one side, not for the people. Securing justice is the responsibility of the legal system as a whole, not of the lawyers presenting a prosecution or defense. They are commanded to win if they can. They are required to give the most zealous prosecution or defense possible within the law.
In the best of worlds, the judge is always competent, the jury is always able to decide whether guilt was demonstrated, and the two attorneys are always both competent advocates.
In the ideal world, the one advocating for the proper verdict should have the advantage by virtue of being on the correct side. Ideally, guilty people should be shown to be guilty by a good prosecutor despite a zealous, competent defense, and vice versa.
Unfortunately, in reality, the system doesn't attain this level. The attorneys are not necessarily equally competent or energetic, the judge may make mistakes, and the jury may decide according to emotion or prejudice rather than the facts.
So what do you want Catcher to do when he's defending somebody that should be convicted on the facts of the case were, but the prosecution is weak, or the judge is incompetent or unfair, or the jury isn't so smart?
Catcher is absolutely forbidden from throwing a case even if he feels confident that his client is guilty. I'm sure that he doesn't want a predator on the streets any more than you or I do.
But he is absolutely forbidden to judge his client and act on that. It is the job of the prosecutor to show guilt, and of the jury to determine it by hearing each attorney make his best case. Only if they fail can he get an acquittal for a defendant that is demonstrably guilty.
If Catcher can win, then he must win. It's the system that has failed when the demonstrably guilty go free, not the attorney doing the job that the system insists he do. If he takes justice into his own hands and throws the case, then he has behaved unethically, and if it can be demonstrated that he did so, the system will come crashing down all around him resulting in disciplinary action or even disbarment.
In summary, ladies and gentlemen of this so called jury, if Catcher has the power to put predators on the street because of superior talent, then that is the fault of the system - either of [1] the prosecutor (or whoever deemed that person competent enough to try the case), or perhaps of [2] the judge if the defect was procedural - prejudicial testimony inappropriately admitted or search evidence inappropriately forbidden, or perhaps of [3] the jury for poorly assessing the arguments.
But not the fault of the competent, zealous attorney defending a guilty client.
