So then if your definition of a child abuser is one that tell their child God exist. 90% on this country would call you a child abuser for telling a child God does not exist :)

There are many other child abusers out there, just like you.
And we have many cowards around that lie and smear people just like you did here. Pretend to have tolerance but your words prove what a liar you are. Thank God your hate has not yet perverted the law to take an honorable person and insist they are child abusers. But we are well on our way. Its why only certain crimes are called "hate crimes". I think that we may have different ideas of what moral theory is. I 'm looking for moral principles that instruct an individual how to behave - right and wrong conduct. Was the moral principle that you should be born in a manger, or have your children in one, or something equivalent like an economy motel? Do you see where I'm going with this?
Perhaps the behavioral value you meant was that great people should be humble, or that strong people should not seek help to neutralize or eliminate their enemies. If so, do you think that that is always wise behavior? And do you think that Jesus first said it first?
My point is that this god came to earth and taught us nothing that hadn't already been taught and was worth knowing. That's a pretty strong claim to make about a god, don't you think?
Have you noticed that you are the only Christian to even try to answer this question?
If you want any "just" moral guidelines offered by "religion" (and I doubt it can be truly classified as that), you will have to look to "Ptah" and thise writings concerning mankind and the individual. They are far superior to any Abrahamic renderings. IMO

I used to advocate these forums being either an extension or microcosm of real life to some degree.

As we get older, many of our childhood friendships and friendships in general inevitably have less face-to-face interaction than they used to. The responsibilities of adult life take up time, require people to move, there is work and family, etc. We end up maintaining these friendships through phone calls and emails and other forms of communication and see each other when we can.

The point being if real friendships can still be maintained and work without much face-to-face then why can't people actually get to know each other online and do the same to some degree? After all, the ability to share in volume and detail can allow a bonding process to take place quicker. And over the years their certainly have been a lot of smokes and tears shared in this room.

The room has never been conflict-free. Life is not conflict-free. And when issues people feel passionate about are discussed, it can create problems. That was always just part of the deal. And yes there have been some nasty ones but nobody set out with the intention of fighting.

But with this concept of trolling becoming more and more popular, it devalues online interaction more and more. I never would have imagined I would see adults, professionals in their field, solicit other adults to go somewhere with the purpose of fighting being the predetermined goal. Or follow adults around. Or take pride in the fact this type of public exchange gives them the ability to come to a place daily to harass people just because they still believe what another person used to believe in matters of faith.

I never thought I'd see sick-puppets and games and fake friendships to gain trust and T-mail strategizing and emotional manipulation. I never thought I'd see people flip-flop on beliefs for Topix friends. I never thought I'd see online staking and mocking of personal loss such as death of a loved one. Or use it as currency to make accusations.

I am used to honestly. I am used to conflict. I am used to people being passionate about ideas. I am used to men standing in their own two feet. I am used to the idea that if someone goes looking for a fight that nobody cries for them when they find one. I am used to compassion and I am used to apathy. That is just life.

I never thought I'd see the day when I got used to what Topix is. I don't even think twice about it any more

Humm, think some fudge candy fit in real good too with this picture. Have a good day. God Bless you always.

Absolutely not.
Unless you're indigent, a Catcher defense will cost you plenty.
But it's more than worth the price.
Thats probably due to supply and demand

Even most lawyers have certain lines they simply won't cross in order to sleep at night. One of those lines is that unless ordered by the court, they will not try to get a child molester back on the street they think is guilty knowing that not only their victim will not get justice but that it is almost a guarantee there will be future victims as well

So since there are not many lawyers who will do this, especially ones that claim considerable expertise, I'd imagine you could set your price. I mean, what wouldn't a child abuser pay to not only avoid being punished for his crimes but also to get the chance to continue them?

For a guy that claims a parent trying to instill morals send values in their children and teach them about God is tantamount to child abuse, you sure do have an odd approach to how you treat actual offenders. But money has a way of doing that to some people

I consider many here on both sides my equal in many respects.
I wish many here had the opportunity to have the education and life experiences I have had. I do not believe my good fortune makes me better.
However, there are some here who are willfully ignorant, pathological liars and despicable. Yes, I am much better than them.
I am not talking about the pissing matches and personality conflicts here. There are a few here that I consider to be evil people and use religion as an excuse for their evil.
I am not your equal. I am better than you on some areas, and lesser than you in others. That's what makes us individuals...and arguing about several subjects is how I came to that determination. We can teach each other in many respects, and I welcome that opportunity...and that is true for others as well. To pass up that opportunity would be tantamount to shooting one's self in the foot.
What I have noticed, is that many can not get past those "emotional" hurdles, and when that happens, the "intellect" shuts down to assimilation of any possible actuality and ideology altogether, and "learning" becomes impossible due to inhibition. IMO

It is one thing that I love about living in the city...being able to walk every where I want to go. Only about once a week I get in the car to drive to the grocery store where I can stock up on staples at a less expensive rate.
I am in better shape but more importantly...better health. I used to take a handful of pills every night just so that my knees and hips would ease up enough to sleep. Now I am down to about once a week with joint problems...I credit the walking.
Good to hear, Annie.

I have mostly lived in places where nothing was in walking distance, and often humidity, freezing or insects to contend with as well, so this is a treat for us.

Nicely said, HL. They have essentially declared a tantrum.

My apologies to the thread, but I am unable to convince them to behave appropriately either on moral grounds - respecting my right to express sincerely held opinions about relevant and topical ideas - or tactical grounds - their tactic has zero chance of success.

And it doesn't look like they have any intention of adapting to that reality, so the die is pretty much cast. My intention is to remain on the thread indefinitely, expressing myself in accordance with Topix's TOS, and to deal with just one of these imps - Skombolis - until he stands down, while to mostly ignoring his idiot sidekick.

I will not accede to their nauseating Christian ethics that allows them feel that they are justified in tantruming and trollery - exactly what I have criticized Christian ethics for all along.

Who said Jesus taught love? Sorry, but that's obviously nonsense. As these self-appointed Christian soldiers amply illustrate, they come with their swords drawn.
