Just die in battle so that you get to dine with the Norse Gods and have these non-dying in battle people as your servants forever!
in this age of prolonged supported death, one needs a very good friend to accomplish that.

Ther's folks from certain planets or star systems I jist won't hire.
I wonder if we would agree?

I read your post to IANS and felt this should be pointed out.
The entire underpinning of the Christian philosophy is immoral.
Thanks for that.

My objection to the church is based on its effect on people. It forges terrible people. These are the kinds of ideas their church disseminates:

[1] Christian misanthropy (man does mostly harm)
[2] Christian antiscientism (don't believe or trust scientists)[3] Christian anti-intellectuali sm (the wise are fools)
[4] Christian misogyny (the war on reproductive freedom)
[5] Christian atheophobia (unbelievers are morally unfit and infested with demons)
[6] Christian homophobia
[7] Christian infantilizing (self-actualizatio n is arrogant pride, submission and obedience are good)
[8] Christian sexual guilt
[9] Christian psychological terrorism (threats of eternal torture)[10] Christian alienation ("the world" is bad, heaven is better)[11] Christian self-loathing (you are spirit trapped in vile flesh)
[12] Christian easy self-forgiveness
[13] Christian anhedonia (pleasure is bad)
[14] Christian slave ethics (be meek, submit)

What does the church offer us in exchange for all of this societal burden?

Once again, I offer the Christians of this thread as evidence. No, they're not all bad, but that's not a defense of Christianity. They're not as good as they should or could be. Compare them to yourself, or Tide, or Happy Lesbo.

We can do better.

I'm an atheist. I'm a staunch atheist. In fact, I got a tattoo last weekend on my left ass cheek. It says:
"I'm an atheist and I don't care if your god likes it or not"
It hurt like Hell.
:-)

"The really amazing thing is not that life on Earth is balanced on a knife-edge, but that the entire universe is balanced on a knife-edge, and would be total chaos if any of the natural 'constants' were off even slightly... even if you dismiss man as a chance happening, the fact remains that the universe seems unreasonably suited to the existence of life--almost contrived-- you might say a 'put-up job'." I've watched that and my first thought was:

Never get into a debate with a comedic genius if the only you have to offer is religion.

The best defense against Christianity is a good Christian education.
