Hmm?
You must have missed the WITCH sections of thy holy guidebook.
Remember these?
There are more... ;$
Exodus 22:18
“You shall not permit a sorceress to live.
Revelation 21:8
But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”
Leviticus 20:27
“A man or a woman who is a medium or a necromancer shall surely be put to death. They shall be stoned with stones; their blood shall be upon them.”
1 Samuel 28:7
Then Saul said to his servants,“Seek out for me a woman who is a medium, that I may go to her and inquire of her.” And his servants said to him,“Behold, there is a medium at En-dor.”
2 Kings 21:6
And he burned his son as an offering and used fortune-telling and omens and dealt with mediums and with necromancers. He did much evil in the sight of the Lord, provoking him to anger.
Deuteronomy 18:9-12
“When you come into the land that the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominable practices of those nations. There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering, anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer or a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who inquires of the dead, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord. And because of these abominations the Lord your God is driving them out before you.
1 Chronicles 10:13
So Saul died for his breach of faith. He broke faith with the Lord in that he did not keep the command of the Lord, and also consulted a medium, seeking guidance.
Micah 5:12
And I will cut off sorceries from your hand, and you shall have no more tellers of fortunes;
Leviticus 19:26
“You shall not eat any flesh with the blood in it. You shall not interpret omens or tell fortunes.
Exodus 8:18
The magicians tried by their secret arts to produce gnats, but they could not. So there were gnats on man and beast.
Acts 19:18-20
Also many of those who were now believers came, confessing and divulging their practices. And a number of those who had practiced magic arts brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. And they counted the value of them and found it came to fifty thousand pieces of silver. So the word of the Lord continued to increase and prevail mightily.
Luke 8:2
And also some women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities: Mary, called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out,
Deuteronomy 18:10
There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering, anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer
Revelation 22:15
Outside are the dogs and sorcerers and the sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.
Want to try the truth for a change?
Ya, Emo. The truth would be nice.

Which one if those tells ME, a Christian, to kill a witch??

Same with everyone else, if they aren't harming anyone, let them be.

Hey we agree on something. I find this of note for two reasons. Canada is ahead of this nation concerning what is called hate speech. If that letter doesn't qualify I don't know what would. It is a concern for me because I see this as mob rule. I mean if enough people tend to agree with whoever wrote that letter who knows? Since its unknown who wrote it I see it as a coward. The second reason it caught my eye is because there is a movement in this nation to euthanize. While quite different from the content of the letter again when life has less value who is to say?

Kurt Vonnegut - are you familiar with him?- was a humanist, and a member of the humanist society.
:)

I actually have not heard of him. I know when I did a Google search there was an atheist in the 2011 Congress but he either didn't run again or retired or lost obviously.

Personally if I were a constituent in whatever area an atheist was running, I would vote for him or her of I thought they were the best person for the job. I don't care where someone prays or who is cooler or who I think I'd rather have a beer with. Whoever I think is the most honest and competence would get my vote. Especially if we scrapped the party system and just let the best person for each job get elected that I'd beholden to nobody

Thomas Jefferson.
Perhaps there is, I've never considered it as a wall, per se. Just a separation so the people can have freedom OF religion, not freedom FROM religion, as American atheists would have you believe.
If you're an atheist, it truly guarantees freedom from religion. How is it so hard to see this point of view?

QUEEN ELIZABETH RIPS CHRIS CHRISTIE ON GAY MARRIAGE

LONDON (The Borowitz Report)—Moments after approving a new law legalizing gay marriage in England and Wales, Queen Elizabeth II of Britain unleashed a blistering attack on New Jersey Governor Chris Christie for “lacking the guts” to do the same.

The British monarch’s brutal evisceration of Gov. Christie stunned observers, who did not know that she was such a close follower of his gay-marriage stance.

“I don’t like to badmouth people,” she said.“But I’m the head of a monarchy that began in the ninth century, and I’m apparently more modern than Chris Christie.”

After shocking observers with her opening salvo, she continued to tear Gov. Christie to shreds.

“Look, I know he has to appeal to the crazy right wingers in his party,” she added.“But the fact is, he’s not as forward-thinking as an eighty-seven-year-old lady who wears a crown on her head. It’s pathetic.”

Asked if she had advice for Gov. Christie, the British monarch said, bluntly,“Just sign the damn bill, Chris.”

Responding to a reporter’s question about the royal birth, Elizabeth replied,“Tell you the truth? I’m just glad the kid’s not born in New Jersey.”

So you're the only secular humanist out there?
No.

My philosophy is not called Secular Humanism. I agree with what I have seen of Secular Humanism, but my philosophy is unique. I follow rational skepticism, logic, and my own emotional imperatives as I understand them. Other people doing the same thing tend to come to many of the same conclusions. Those shared conclusions have been labeled for convenience.

Is Ben a Secular Humanist? I don't know.

.. you always bring an interesting perspective ..
.. it would be educational to read a debate between yourself, HFY and Christians on some questions I've pondered ..
1. Where did the human Fox P-2 (language) gene come from? No other ape has it.
2. Since natural selection is a fact of nature, why didn't the ancient turtle become smarter than the human?
3. Why did humans shed their protective hair?
4. If evolution is a slow process, why did humans experience a profound change in a short period of time (Big Brain Bang)?
.. is God behind the DNA switches? Aliens? Simple evolution ??..
WARNING: If believers are unfamiliar with these anomalies, it would probably be wise to research before debating HFY or BT.
Good questions.
#1 is an extremely more complicated issue than "just" a gene and it's placement on a chromosome.
The gene itself IS in many other mammals. I think that fetal development and the time that the "human" brain takes to develop to it's complete size (which continues after birth), and the stages (in development times) relative to the interaction of chromosomal development influenced by acids etc during the phases of development. The FP 2 "gene" is also active in the development of Lungs which may be "trigger" for exceptionally different process at different stages than other mammals.
Note that the gestation of humans is slightly less than 9 months, but the development of the brain takes nearly a year...and during this time it is activated and influenced by it's environment... Unlike most other mammals.

I am certainly no expert in this, but you have an opinion for what it's worth.

Why should we remain silent about that church? We have no duty to tolerate intolerance.
I grew up in the rural midwest, My ideals about homosexualism were far more defined by the people I hung out with then the Catholic church which i was raised in.

I honestly cant remember ever discussing it or hearing about it in church or in the Catholic school I was taught in. I'd bet most would say the same.

Annie if you read this was it part of the discussion in your church?

So, can you or can you not name a Christian I hate?
