I don't dislike her...or anyone else for that matter. I do see however where some might be confused as to her beliefs. When she first came to Topix she was a believer...then she (I think) pretended not to be...then back to a believer and is now taking instructions on atheism.
Personally...doesn't matter but I can see where some might think that she is and has been playing a game.

I can't figure out what most people here believe. LOL

lol--I loved that show--I could never watch though, it always came on a night I was working. oh well. ;)

I know you want to believe. I know you do and I know it's hard, really hard.

Take this from me, someone that used to admire a atheistic religion Buddhism.

1st thing. Have a honest talk with yourself, by yourself. Look at your life. See if there is any behavior, friends, lifestyle--anything that is really why you don't want to believe.

I had to do that first before I really start to question.

Because it not matter if you "want to believe". If there is something going in your life that is more important than God, then you won't believe. Walking with God requires discipline.

Now--God will help you with the strength to overcome whatever you think you can't overcome. But you must first surrender and say "Lord, I don't know how I'm going to overcome this whatever in my life, but I know you have the strength to give to me to overcome it"

You have to take the first step to God, then God will take the first steps to you. But you can't fool God writer. God see you heart. And if you going through the motions to tell yourself "I tried but God ain't there", you will not get any evidence of God.

Which brings me to my 2nd point.

So 1st, you must have a sincere heart when you seek after God.

And next, if you think you're sincere, then simply pray to God and ask Him if Jesus Christ is His Son, make that real to you.

Be sincere when you ask--YHWH will not fail you. You come to YHWH with a sincere heart seeking His Son, YHWH will not fail you.

But if you don't do my 1st point, no bother with the second point. You must be at the end of you rope.

Forget everyone on this billboard and what they say, they can't answer to YHWH for your soul. You can answer only for yourself. So to heck with what they think.

I think is because you at the end of you rope why you here. I really do. So you can blow off my advise--or you can try.

Is your soul writer. Nothing in the universe is more valuable, than your soul. Take care of it, everyday. The worse mistake you can make is to think you no have a soul. Because you leave this earth believing that, when you do realize you have a soul---your reaction will be, unfathomable.

Sorry Lacez...I no way was I discrediting your spirituality...nor did I say a word about my opinion being fact. My statement was only based on my experiences.
Where did you get that I said you have no spirituality?
I might've not been clear.
By "your opinion" I meant "peoples' opinions," as the word "your" is used sometimes.
I was talking about those peoples' opinions of which you were talking about.

As soon as Special Agent Scully gets back with the lab report confirming the authenticity of that evidence there is a thing like that.

Let me be perfectly clear here , there is less than 1% chance YHWH was real , less than .01% chance any of the creation myth is true.

Interesting. Thanks.
I think that these people are typical Christians behaving typically. Why wouldn't they be? A few seem like good people, but most aren't. They still represent over 70% of America.
The unbelievers posting here are a fine group of people, and offer a striking contrast with the Christians. And the thread as a whole gives us an idea of what a more secular country could be like.
Having the Christian church playing such a large role in the shaping of the moral and intellectual fiber of a nation is obviously a significant burden on the culture, and diminishing its influence can only be helpful.
Certainly. I want to add.

This goes beyond Christianity, too. Deity based, hive mind religion is a pox upon society and civilization. It pits humans against each other and themselves.

It's also American to go for the underdog.
Only if the underdog is Christian, there is a possibility the underdog can become Christian, or, by rooting for the underdog, the Christian can in some way feel better about themselves.

That is the attitude of many Christians, that are Americans.

There is an additional component to that statement above, too

If the "underdog" is a person or group that doesn't fall into the accepted or approved category as defined by Christian Americans, you can just about guarantee they don't root for those people.

There is a very small population of Americans that support the underdog, no matter who the underdog may be - barring ax murders, rapists, etc...- at all times

When Lacez said that comment about 'bathing with your Dad' in a posting to me, of course I would take it as my Dad, he was replying accordingly.

However, what most of you don't seem to understand, is that he was suggesting that they bathe with someone's Dad, if not mine, and it was still offensive.

Not to worry RR, we seek that which we find, and that is how it will always be and it is our right to do so :)

That is what makes it completely different from religion.

The "Bible theories" presented here have been disproved and rejected by all but the uneducated and ignorant.

This is incorrect.
Many Christians demonstrate no evidence of spirituality, while many who call Christianity nonsense appear to have rich spiritual lives.
Yeah, what that boils down to is I can experience a spiritual feeling about a myriad of things, and a Christian can perhaps experience the same feelings as I do, but, and only because I'm not Christian, many Christians will assert that what I've experienced isn't the same as what they experienced, since they have the "deity pak spirituality". That my experience was in some way, less.

Then if I experience something that the Christian does not approve of as "authentic spirituality", then it'll be discounted that what I felt wasn't spiritual at all, and that I'm kidding myself, I need the deity in order to experience "real spirituality".

You know, that "Real Christian™" mentality pervades so many aspects of the lives of people in general by what is deemed to be "genuine" - whatever it is - by Christians as opposed to non Christians, it's become ridiculous.

Almost as if your next door neighbor, who is Christian might very well assert that "your water isn't the same as my water, you see, I worship god and if you did too, you'd see why my water is *real water*.... Go ahead and drink the water that you only *think* is water...
