That hasn't been what a 'Christian' is for over 1700 years.
Christianity of the last 1700 years is about Paul and which "church" has the "Real Truth".
If you have faith based only on the Gospel of Mark and nothing else then I would call you a "Believer in Jesus" all the rest are "Christians" and believe in Churches and Paul, not Jesus.
My home is my Church and my body is my Temple...and I have no religion that I call my own. But, I am sure you recall that.

I would call myself a believer in GOD and JESUS, and of course the ANGELS, along with a Spiritual afterlife. I find Scriptures that support what I need to find ~ as do others. My intention is to water my Faith so that it grows to fulfillment, but this is probably because it is already so strong that I simply have no doubts.

If you did what you could to get other people to not eat cow, then is say you're against me. If you condone stuff like extra taxes in cow farmers because of cow farts, or extra taxes because of all the water they use, or if you stand out front if a butcher shop with a protest sign, then you're against me.
If you just have the feeling of ickiness over eating cow and leave it at that, then you're neither for me or against me. Your apathetic towards me as I am about your sexuality - I don't care either way, so long as it doesn't impede my life or the lives of the people I care about. If you condone homosexual teaching in sex ed class, then you're against me. If you confine the actions of gays like NAMBLA, then you're against me. If you keep your sexual desires where they belong - in your head, your pants & your bedroom (or wherever it is you do it), then you're for me. And vice versa with my sexual desires.
Capiche?
WTF ?

No cares that you find cunnilingus "icky".

I pity your wife.

It bring back memories of my dad. I miss him.
My Dad drove steam engines out in the bush ~

https://www.google.com.au/search... (a link to a few pics)

and died about 8 years ago. I still miss hearing him whistle and calling me princess, and that takes me back nearly 50 years in the blink of an eye. I still have the old doll he gave me sitting on my bedside cupboard, and every now and then I lift the little bonnet and smell her hair. That is a real trip down memory lane; I remember still opening the box that she came in, but being a bit of a tom boy, she didn't get played with much.

In fact, I called her 'Yellow Hair' and she was known that for the first 40 years of her life, and I changed it to Angel Hair. It took me a few years to write my journals, G, but they are like running up and down the memories of life and now, will not be forgotten.

Missing someone is a good feeling ~ let your heart grab hold of that feeling and feel the hurt of love, and that feeling heals the hurt of our own. Well, in my experience, anyway :)

The arguement was over your claim that secular organizations do not donate to the sick and hungry.

A simple, "OH! My mistake!" would have worked.

Instead you once again changed the goal post to avoid admitting your error.

Where in your Bible are the commandments "Thou shalt never admit you're wrong" and "Thou shalt change the subject when proven wrong." ?

If followed their training, then nothing could be done. There is no "who" to blame (unless of course building managers lied or their boss stupidly told them to charge in or some other kind of human error).
The thing is, I don't believe in an all-powerful creator deity. If someone does believe in an all-powerful creator deity, then in the face of human death and misery, they have these options:
1. ignore the obvious impossibilities and never think deeply about what omnipotent + creator means. This is what most religious people do
2. believe in some unknowable divine plan that can't make sense to the non-omniscient; a sort of "who can know the will of Allah?" In this case, the omnipotent creator deity chooses the time and state of everyone's death - in advance, at the creation of the universe.
3. choose to believe in a contradiction as in "I have an all-powerful deity, who created all and knows everything, but ridiculously doesn't have anything to do with misery and suffering."
My point, and the point of view of atheists, isn't that anyone's god is responsible for any person's death and suffering. It's that theists have impossible and unresolved beliefs in their heads that they seem incapable of acknowledging.
We find that quite funny, and childish.
The wind blew the crap flew and I couldn't see for a moment or two.

What a bunch of atheistic garbage you've posted. And the sad thing is you actually believe it and have bought into it hook, line and sinker.

GOoD Day dear sister -- Ahh FB has been a pleasure to get to know so many on a personal level and put faces to names.
To see people join together in love thru any situation whether it be offering prayers or good thoughts without retribution for their personal beliefs.
Truly a huge difference from their to here - although most of us met thru here --
My daughter and I had a touch of a scare last night. We have in a nearby town an outdoor 4 screen movie theatre -- I happen to have a sunroof on my car and near the end of the first movie this huge flash lit the sky and all 4 screens went dark.
Of course my first thought was terrorism, and there were hundreds of cars packed in one area with limited exit points.
Turns out a driver hit a transformer down the road so each vehicle was given free passes -- but when I first saw the flash it was frightening -- my heart truly goes out to war torn countries that live with that constant fear.
TLC - Judy
Glad to hear you are safe and sound ~ I remember seeing a kindergarten in one of those war turn countries, and as the planes roared over the top of the kids in their classes, they were raising their arms up and yelling, as if in defiance of what was going on around them. Perhaps a defiant stance is preferable to being scared to the point of not being able to act to defend one's family..... war is definitely not a pretty sight, and they are planning bigger and better wars, as we know, and there's not much we can do about it.

Off to the movies with my Sister today to see the Lone Ranger, didn't make it yesterday but hoping it's a good movie :)

See your words soon, Cyber Sister Granny, and it is always a pleasure running into your words!! xx

"The Economist estimates that 57% of the church's U.S. spending went to Catholic health care networks, with an additional 28% to colleges, 6% to day-to-day operations at local parishes and dioceses, and 2.7% to national charities.
......
So;

57% went to health care for the Pope, Cardinals, priests and other employees...no charity there.

28% to support Bible Colleges that they rake in money from... no charity there.

6% to pay for the local catholic church exspenses (not much compared to the Vatican and again NOT charity.

Which leave 2.7% to national charities.

Christ! I donate more than that! 2.7% isn't even tithing!

The RCC is the biggest organized crime syndicate on the planet. A 1700 year old con game for the mindless masses.

<quoted text>
What does your god do with all of the money that it collects each week? You don't suppose that the loot isn't all getting to it, do you?
If we stipulate that it exists for a moment, then we have to say that your god does let children starve. And get leukemia, And accidentally shoot themselves with handguns. It doesn't lift a divine finger to help.
My GOD has money? That's surprising to read.

As for the firefighters, what a tragic loss.

Hi Jute.

Yep I've been keeping up with the Tigers. I switched from cable to directv so I can see all of their games. They won again today against Cleveland. Don't see anyone catching them in their division.

That truly was very sad to see those firefighters lost. My heart goes out to the families.
