Unverified. Meaningless. I feel the same about the Hindu, Islamic and other numerous religious/deity claims, too.

Testimony, as it applies to a legal matter in court isn't the same as "religious testimony". Sure, expert witnesses can give a professional opinion, and depending on the facts surrounding that, move that opinion from opinion >>>----> to fact.

Defendants do the same thing at times.

Unless there is some sort of verifiable or demonstrable evidence that can be evaluated or fact that can be used that supports the opinion, or testimony, it's just an opinion or assertion.

Religious testimony is pure opinion or assertion, however, and It remains opinion or an unsupported assertion in the case of "religious testimony".

That doesn't convince me.

Go.
I've read of the teapot from numerous sources and discussed it with other people(sounds like the Jesus!, eh?).

Do I think there is a celestial teapot orbiting the Sun somewhere in space between the Earth and Mars ?

No.

Why?

For the same reasons I don't believe there are deities.

You make really lousy straw-men, LW.
I have no problem with the Bible. It is a book written by men. Nothing more.
I do have a problem with people who pretend to know exactly what those authors meant 2000 to 3000 years ago....esp. when those people can barely communicate in modern English, let alone archaic Hebrew and Greek.
Laughing about the lousy straw men. I tried telling you long ago that nothing from nothing is a nothing. Hope you no longer will have any problems with communication or figuring out a nothing lol

By the way have a Happy fourth of July.

I am well aware of what process you believe takes place.
Again you have not answered the question
WHEN does it go from zygote to fetus to baby?
Why is getting an straight answer from you so difficult?
Going backwards from 8 months and 29 days when you consider it too far along in the process and it to be an unborn child, what day does it suddenly transform from an unborn child to zygote and based on what in your opinion?
<quoted text>
I asked you this because i don't agree with you that an unborn child is part of a woman's body. I believe it to be a separate body living within the mother
By your own post at 8 months and 29 days it should be considered an unborn child and it would be morally wrong to kill the child
So counting backwards from that day, when does it become morally acceptable to kill it and why?
There are no unborn children just as there are no undead children.

Have you ever had something foreign growing inside your body? Would you leave it to women to determine whether or not it should keep growing?

It's my opinion that old men should stay out of the debate about the reproductive processes of women.

Don't like abortion? Keep your dick in your pants.

Just my thoughts. Nothing personal Skom.

I know you guys have had some pretty nasty exchanges. I don't get in the middle of it except for one time when I asked him not to involve your daughter. Although I find comments about Mary being raped equally wrong and you have made comments like that. There are times I expect better of both of you. I am sure there are times both of you have expected better of me.
Other than that, you are both adults. And my friendships don't change based on external factors
I certainly will not condemn someone for engaging in what is relatively the norm on Topix. If people want to see this place rise above a certain level than it should start with them

This all started because of my leg.

I don't fault RA for what he said. After all, I basically called him a repulsive douche bag.

I stand behind my words as best I can.

You cudda just said that there's nothing to corroberate the teapot thingy.

And there is something to corroberate the Jesus! thingy.

Face it, there's nothing at all to support the celestial teapot. Nothing.

The way I see it, Christianity 'dictates' to live happily, to be friends with your neighbors and enemies, to love as much as possible and that actions always have consequences.
What's so bad about that?
People need enemies.

Maybe it's your boss. Maybe it's just an inanimate object.

Maybe it's the stupid uneducated teenaged bitch at Arbys that gave you Curly fries when you specifically asked for Homestyle fries.

Maybe it's the dick that cut you off on I-95.

People need enemies.

Hey, do you think it's nuts that firefighters get paid extra when fighting a fire?
I mean, I understand WHY, the dangers and all.
But they job is to fight fires and when they do, they get paid extra?
Thoughts?
I don't know what firefighters get paid. I probably should. My guess is, most firefighters just sit around waiting for a fire. So yeah, I would say they should make more money when they are active.

Should a plumber get paid more when he's actively snaking one of your turds out of the line because your basement has feces and urine two inches deep in it? Yeah.

Should a Heating and Cooling company get paid more when it's 2:00 AM and -3 F degrees and your furnace is out? Yeah.

Thoughts?

I read a few posts about this missing leg of yours River. It must have been one hell of a leg. It gets far more attention than the one you still have.

What's with that? After all this time it is still the center of attention. It is almost if it has a life of its own...out in the world...causing great debates...creating strife. Odd that. Would make a great story though.

I think more attention should be shown the remaining leg...no one ever talks about it...except for maybe HL!

Plumbers and A/C guys have flat rates. Even at 2am and on holidays, they'll charge more but it's a flat rate.

Firefighters get paid there salary to fight fires, yes? No. They get paid their salaries to clean & prep the truck, grocery shop and even when they sleep (when they're at the station). But when they actually go out to do their job (fight fires), they get paid double-time. It seems nice because they're in great danger while fighting the fire and I bless those men for doing it, but to pay them extra to do what they signed up to do just seems like a waste of tax money.

You're referring to a very small percentage of Christian actions. Very small.
If 1700 years of mass killing was "small" then the Holocaust was on the molecular scale.

Sorry, RR. You are just pulling the same deceitful crap that Christianity have been excusing its atrocities with for the same 1700 years.

All it does is prove how deceitful and arrogant Christianity and Christians are.
