Absolutely.

There are plenty of scriptures instructing the reader to fear the god of the bible.

"Cherry Picking" only applies to believers. For Christians, cherry picking from the Bible is necessary, if you read the whole Bible. Where there aren't outright contradictions, there are inconsistencies, and ambiguity. The Christian is left either interpreting/cherry picking on their own, or outsourcing the job to someone else, who they let do their thinking for them.
Non believers don't cherry pick, because they don't necessarily believe any of the Bible.
Oh, Tide. Cherry picking does not only apply to believers. It could be done on any form of writing, in any context and from any book. It's done all the time here, imagine if I took your whole post and only responded to this part:

I totally disagree. I believe that Christ was divine and I don't think that way about our world. And aside from a few nutcases here on Topix, I know of no Christian that thinks that way about the world.
Christian nutcases?

Here, on Topix?

That's blasphemy!

They put it in a book, because otherwise people could not have the same experience, it is only in the mind, a story, a fantasy
Let's enjoy Spiderman together, but lets not belief in him.

<quoted text>Why ask at all. Anyone that is part of the Christian Religion is a 'true' Christian. Christian means being part of the Christian Religion. It's who is a true Jesus Follower, that what matter. And only Jesus Christ know that.
Well if you don't follow the Christian faith why you concerned about Christians encouraging other Christians??
I'm not a Muslim, so I not going to tell a Muslim how to conduct his religion. Worry about your beliefs whatever they are, and leave Christians to worry about theirs.
This is not a Muslim thread Trifecta so why would anyone discuss and give opinions on their faith here.

This is the "Top News Forum" thus it is a thread to give opinions on the subject of "Why Should Jesus Love You". Many like to call it a Christian thread but since it is located in the middle of "Top Stories" it changes the dynamics of it. There is a "Christian Forum" and technically that is where "Christian" subjects should be located. I don't frequent that forum because I am not Christian.

As long as atheist and agnostics (us other non-Christians) are discussed on this thread I would dare say that you will have those that give the opposing view.

It is a make-belief, a fantasy
That's because you were taught about the wrong god.

So you think that scientists "observe in reality" that God is non-existant?
pfft...
BWAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAA!
There are some scientists who have a religious faith. However, it's probably safe to say that most scientists don't believe in the Christian, or indeed, any of the other gods that people worship.

I guess the numbers vary in accordance with the specialism of the scientist. I'd say that belief in a god is practically non-existent in the fields of geology, biology and anthropology.

Of course you missed the point.
My questioning began with (something like) it seems most atheists only argue about God & Christianity.
I asked about him arguing against leprechauns on a leprechaun thread. He said no because (something like) leprechauns believers do no harm.
You need to be Irish to understand leprechauns.

So I asked about arguing against Wiccans on a Wiccan thread and of course the answer was similar to the leprechaun question....
It is still my contention that, for the most part, atheists argue ONLY against the Christian God.
There's NO such thing as a christian god.

Religiously based?
Perhaps. However, laws change - it's an aspect of a secular society. Religious laws rarely change - which is why they stagnate.
I've not heard of the "Sunday Law" but if it was to do with the Sabbath, wouldn't that be a Saturday?
Mind you, the only Sabbath that registers with me is Black Sabbath: a fine and innovative rock band.
The technical term in the US is blue law. Here,

Nope.'Stone them to death' is pretty clear cut.
What I mean by look beyond the words is to take the time to find out a few things.
Why that's in the Bible.
Who that's written about.
What was the culture if the people.
Is it still relevant.
Etc.
Y'all don't bother with any of that, you take "stone to death" and attempt to use that to undermine the Bible without even bothering with any sort of context or relevance.
The bible is a violent book.

<quoted text>?? why are you worried about things you have no control over, like people's beliefs?
You need to understand Christians believe Yeshua Christ is the Son of YHWH, they will worship Yeshua as the Son of YHWH, and they will go to their grave doing so.
You need to understand, you can't change that, and just control what you can, your beliefs.
You think he is more real if you make him Jewish?
It still is make-belief, fantasy

I would agree - that in all probabilities the majority of scientists out there are not religious. But that's not what I was responding to.

I said: So you think that scientists "observe in reality" that God is non-existant?

Which is, of course, bullshit.

You can't prove it, you've offered no evidence, you're like a broken record. That's your fantasy, only yours.
Fantasies can not be disproven
that is your defence
maybe, but it is still fantasy
