I happen to be of the Dylan generation. The real Dylan. The Dylan of the late 60s.
He was important then.
And some of us still live the dream.

That's not what I think.

You can't justify a faith based position by pointing to the fact that humans have not, do not, and will not know everything about the universe.

Finding a god, like we found DNA, would all but destroy faith and religion as we know it.

OK. Here's how I understand it.
If you read the Bible, you'll find references to God.
Not just references, God just about like takes over completely.
So the Bible tells us there's a god.
And since the Bible was inspired by God, we have to believe what the Bible says.
We can't even ask what things mean, because the answer depends on the Christian that gives it.
Bottom line though, the evidence shows that there's a god, and it's my god.
So if there was no Bible, there would be no God?

Got it.

A being that has ultimate power also has ultimate responsibility.
According to you, sure. But by what process have you come to this conclusion? What tests have you performed? Was it peer reviewed? Was it published?

The fact is that God created you in His image, and that doesn't mean a physical appearance. If means He's given you the power to choose to be responsible for yourself or to not he responsible.

I don't know where you get off thinking that you alone can dictate what God can cm and can't do.
In your myth, God has the power to put everyone in Heaven, but does not, meaning he doesn't want to. He has some higher priority that is changing his want for people to go to Heaven into a want for most people to go to Hell.
So what is so important to your god that he would torture most human souls for eternity rather than not?
His creation learning right from wrong.

I dunno if you're a parent, but have you ever heard of a parent allowing their kids to do anything they want?
You like Dawkins, don't you?

No, not particularly. He's a pompous ass.
“The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully.”
One biblically ignorant person quoting another.

Go figure.

There is no rational methodology, practices or procedures that will logically conclude there is no God.
Just because you haven't detected Him does not mean He doesn't exist.
I have already logically concluded that the God defined by the Bible is impossible.

You don't have to agree with me for that to be true.

Once you divorce yourself from the laws of logic, you are in nonsense land where I don't even have to consider your claim. You will have no basis, without the laws of logic, to make any argument whatsoever for the truth of your claim.

Oh, so you didn't make a conscious watch.

Or at least you put limitations on it...

God didn't do that with us.

I know of no Christians that share your belief. In fact, quite the opposite.
As I've said, you have a choice, a choice I believe was given to you, and all of us, by God.
Here's a skeptical, rational version if what I mean.
You jump off a high building, the law of gravity will take care of you, not God. You have a choice to not jump off that building. You might say,“God is love" all the way down and hope that God will save you. And if not, then people like you will blame God for your death, saying "God should've saved that man, he's evil!" But you're still going to get splattered when you hit the bottom.
What if somebody pushes me off the building? Did God give me the choice to fly?

Nope.
A Catholic can pray directly to Jesus/God.
Your "tore the veil" comment is a bunch of babble and has nothign to do with prayer.
You might as well say the "torn veil" means not to use drapes on windows.
Once again, you prove you just make shit up.
Matthew 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

47 Some of them that stood there, when they heard that, said, This man calleth for Elias.

48 And straightway one of them ran, and took a spunge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink.

49 The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elias will come to save him.

50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.

51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;

52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,

53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

54 Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.......

So your god is nonsensical?
That's all you're saying.
You can't get around this problem by saying that your deity isn't bound by the laws of logic.
Having the power to get anything you want necessarily means that you always get exactly what you want.
Yes, actually I can.

God created time, logic, laws of physics, etc. He is not bound by those laws like we are.

Try this.

He can and can't make a rock so heavy He can and can't lift.

Ah... The omnipotence paradox.

Indeed...

Can God create a rock He can't lift....

Can He make a spherical triangle....

Etc....

Saying that omnipotence requires the ability to do logically impossible things is stupid

God can't turn truth into a lie.

God is able to to do all that He wants to do.

But even an all-powerful being cannot do what is impossible by definition.

Catholics call it intercessory prayer, which is in-biblical.

I hope you're learning.

I can go into detail if you like.
