.. the buffoons on this thread indulge in character assassination, regularly repeating the same lies with little regard for the feelings of others. While you may think their religion causes this, I would disagree. There are many honorable believers on this thread and they're beginning to catch a glimpse of the pronounced mental illness of some ..
.. we can be kind to the buffoons, forgive them, but they consider that a weakness. The decent believers must understand that the buffoons worship their egos, not Jesus ..
I have only heard of (re: your post here) Grace and Blindman being on the receiving
end of Skom's character assasination..
Not sure anyone else has insulted them--or anyone
else on your list
here.

Pretty sure Skom would be the champ in "reguarly repeating the same lies in little regard for the feelings of others"..

Do you consider Skombolis one of the buffoons you refer to here?

Do you maybe think the silence in this room regarding the bad
behavior of Skombolis speaks to the fact the "decent" people may
also worship their own egos..and not Jesus?

So you say. I left the rcc for my own reasons but do look back on my time as well spent. I can still remember being a 9 year old listening to soft rain outside during mass wanting to know God more. This isn't really the place to debate doctrine but I am thankful that God is good and He places where He wants. As with most of your postings Le Le I thank God I don't know what you speak of. Mind you its not my aim to defend evil in the rcc or anywhere, say a public school where a teacher harms a child. Just thankful this religion you are at war helped me to want to know Christ.
I asked you two question in my last posts to you.
You just answered one.
You are no longer a Catholic.
My second question-- would you raise your children in the
Catholic religion?

Your memories of the religion reminds you of the sound of rain??
-the peaceful sound of rain and thinking of God??
You were nine - did you receive all your Holy Sacraments Chris??

Can you honestly say- without a shadow of a doubt-
Hell is not preached to the youth of the Catholic religion?

I am not at war w any religion..Simply pointing out facts..
-facts you are choosing to dispute.

All except Costantine.

Constantine simply made the Bible and Paulinism the only legal form of Chrisitanity in the Roman Empire and ordered the murder of all other Christians. He was Emperor, he didn't need "God's Word". He was 'God'(at least in the Roman State relgion).

No.

The Catholic Church and the pope tried to stop the inquisition, but it was too politically powerful for them.

The Crusades was a religious battle between Christians and Muslims.

Neither of which were supported nt the Bible.

I'm not going over all that again.

If Hitler wasn't a Christian, then you aren't either. Neither is every other self-proclaimed Christian. They don't all act in the same exact way so you none of them are Christian.

Jesus Christ never call none of his followers "Christian". Christian is a man made title.

So clearly Hitler turned his back on Christianity a man made Religion. But Hitler was never a Jesus Follower. Because burning 6 million people in ovens is clearly mass murder. And Yeshua never condoned murdering anybody.
So you aren't a Christian either, because you're self-proclaimed.

I disagree, atheism can and does motivate a person to do things. I've seen pictures posted here of things like freeway billboards and city buses that have anti-god(atheist) propaganda on them. That was motivated by people's atheism."

How does lacking a belief in deities provide direction to do anything?

RiversideRedneck wrote, "
You've likely also heard of the atheist monument, the courthouse bench in Florida with atheist sayings and phrases on it. Was that motivated by nothing? No, it was motivated by people's atheism. "

I'm an atheist and I'm not motivated to do that.

That proves you are wrong.

Atheism is very simple. It's a lack of belief in deities. My lack of belief in deities is the same as everyone else's lack of belief in deities. If that alone can direct action, it must necessarily direct the same action for every atheist. It does not.

You are making a categorical error.

Causality in the human decision making process is complex in the extreme. You need a lot of data and analytic skills to have any hope of accurately mapping it.

If you find yourself asking, "Why do atheists do SOMETHING?", the first part of the answer might be because they have the freedom to do so. Beyond that, the motivating factors are going to be determined by the circumstances surrounding the individual atheists in question. There's a lot of correlation in atheist behavior, but pretty much all of that is due to the freedom of not having a belief in deities. Remember that atheism is the null state. We're all born lacking a belief in any deities. Adopting beliefs can provide direction. Not adopting them does not.

Neither theism or atheism provide any direction on their own, because they are just positions on one generic type of belief. Theists believe in at least one deity, while atheists don't believe in any. This distinction alone tells you almost nothing.
He won't get it.

Wonderfully written though.

Did I ever, but to make fun of those who are disrespectful, say I believed there is no god?

Nope.

Did I say there isn't any evidence, let alone "enough evidence," to make me believe in a god?

Yes.

There's a difference, I wonder if you can understand it.
