You? Oh uh uh This is the idiocy of Christianity. And what is sad, is this seems to be the best you've got. Troll along now, time to go back to the little table.
I'm not trolling anywhere, goofy.

I understand.
If you believed the "Lord of the Rings" to be the "Word of God" you would be unable to see that it is largely based on Teutonic and Goidelic mytholgy.
Let me ask, how do you know the Bible is perfect ? Did God personally tell you or are you just playing follow the leader ?
I admire you for peeking outside the box but until you let go of the teachings of the RCC (ALL modern Christinaity is 99% based on the doctrines of the RCC) you will still be trapped in the stories of Popes and Emperors.
You didn't disappoint me G. Good response :)
Firstly, I don't trust the RCC doctrine period. From adding books to the OT that were not part of scripture at the time Jesus walked the earth. To having people call them father. To viewing the pope as if he were God. I could go very much into this but won't. Everyone has the right to believe as they want. And my problem with the RCC is more with the leadership than it is with the average catholic. Enough of that.
The rest of the denominations. I started to study at a pretty young age. I taught the young adult Sunday school class at the age of eleven, gave my first Sermon from behind the pulpit at twelve.
By the time I was thirteen I realized that a lot of what is being taught in the churches contradicted each other. Yet each used scripture to support what they taught. One or the other or all were wrong. So I started looking for myself and still do. And I question regularly what I know. Meaning I try to prove and disprove what I believe. What you think would, I think apply to most. But not me. I don't normally talk about these things because I am irrelevant and have fallen so short of the mark set before me. I have said often that I am probably one of the biggest sinners, saved by grace. These things I have said don't make me anything. How I live my life will determine that. So far, I don't thing I have done a very good job. Back to the point. No I don't just follow what is taught. And I can not say that God has spoke to me. But, I can say this, if God has spoken to someone, wouldn't it be understandable, if that someone would never buy into anything that tries to say that God isn't real?
Sorry if I came on a little strong a little bit ago.

Yes, I see I was mistaken.
You called her "missy lesbo"..

My post to you still stands though..
If you feel justified in calling her that-
then I feel justified in calling you

C'mon, B-Man. You have much more integrity to be playing these games.
Are you really going to twist the truth to fit the man-made doctrine that Genesis is a literal history ?
I suggest you research the history of the sect of Christianity that started that doctrine in the 1800's.
It is not Biblical and not supported by a single word of Jesus.
Nowhere in the Hebrew Scriptures does it claim to be literal history. Even the Jews admit it is a poetic/prose collection of ancient stories and not to be taken literally.
I'll give you the first one. Though I do take it to be literal.
I believe things were different before the fall. The fall affected everything. I believe that sin has an affect on things beyond those in the immediate action.
That which is in Genesis, counters what others were teaching and believing in at the time Genesis was penned. I believe that much detail was not written because what happened in the beginning is not the intent of the Bible. It is to reveal Jesus and the plan of salvation.
There are many thing in the Bible that are allegorical. But, I don't believe Genesis to be one of them. I understand those that think it is. I am just not one of them.
Again I find your blanket statement about Jews is over reaching. While many and even perhaps most, not all.

Here is a thought provoking thought!
"We speculated what it was like before we got language skills. When we humans had our first thought, most likely we didnt know what to think. Its hard to think without words cause you havent got a clue as to what youre thinking. So if you think we suffer from a lack of communication now, think what it must have been like then, when people lived in a verbal void - made worse by the fact that there were no words such as verbal void."

I prayed for strength, and then I lost awhile
All sense of nearness, human and divine;
Isaiah 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so
are my ways higher than your ways,
and my thoughts than your thoughts.

These Shall Find

The steady hand can never find the deep things of the Lord;
The undimmed eyes can never see the comfort in His Word;
The joyous heart can never know the healing of His love;
The learned mind can never grasp the wisdom from above.

But, oh, the trembling hand clasps His and loses all its fear;
The weeping eyes can search His Word and read His promise clear;
The broken heart rests in His love until its faith prevails;
The childlike mind can reach the source where wisdom never fails.

We have the clay tablets from 6000 through 4000 years ago. The oldest copy of Hebrew Scriptures is 2300 years old. The oldest copy of "The Bible" is only 1650 years old.

What were the circumstances that you were told they are going to hell?
Not sure what RCC you were raised in..
Across the boards it is law that all are born w original sin..
All infants must be baptised, just incase they die before their
sacrement of Confession.. Because where are these babies believed to be sent to if they should die before being forgiven of their "original sin"..Skom??
Hell..

I do not discuss my personal beliefs w you anymore..

You can come on strong with me B-Man, I think we are friends and can take it.
I find most people to be pretty decent and few deserving eternal torment, regardless of what "God" thinks. If that damns me to Hell then I spit on "God".
I honestly find humans in general to be far more moral and loving than the God of Christianity and Islam. In that respect I would twist scripture myself and say "No master is greater than its severants." A chain is only as strong as its weakest link, so to speak.
I find so many people, believer and non, to be 'Gods' in Psalmist tradition. I count you among them. I hoe that does not offend you.

Shalom.
I need to get some rest now. Thanks for giving me some talking sheep to count as I rest my head on the pillow. <smile>
