That seems inexplicable to me. I can't imagine making that mistake even once, especially once the problem has been elucidated and people are aware that it exists. I would imagine (since I'm not a surgeon, and didn't go into operating rooms after my training) that all you need to do is write on the patient with a magic marker at the last pre-op visit, when the patient could correct an error if one were looming.

Beginning after the Civil War, members of the Protestant-led Ku Klux Klan organization began engaging in arson, beatings, cross burning, destruction of property, lynching, murder, rape, tar-and-feathering, and whipping against African Americans, Jews, Catholics, and other social or ethnic minorities.

They were explicitly Christian terrorist in ideology, basing their beliefs on a "religious foundation" in Christianity. The goals of the KKK included, from an early time on, an intent to "reestablish Protestant Christian values in America by any means possible," and believe that "Jesus was the first Klansman." Their cross-burnings were conducted not only to intimidate targets, but to demonstrate their respect and reverence for Jesus Christ, and the lighting ritual was steeped in Christian symbolism, including the saying of prayers and singing of Christian hymns. Many modern Klan organizations, such as the Knights Party, USA, continue to focus on the Christian supremacist message, asserting that there is a "war" on to destroy "western Christian civilization."

Are all Christians responsible for the KKK? Of course not. But the better question is: is racism endemic in Christian ideology, and unfortunately, according to the Bible, the answer is sadly, yes.
Good post, and welcome back.

Christian revisionism - meh. This thread has its own Klan, but with a different target. And they are outraged to be compared to other hate groups.

You mean your "truth," don't you?

The Klan will tell you the exact same thing. They have the god's truth. Your argument is identical to theirs.

Do you care at all?

Yes. People say many things.
Those people are no different than the Christian homophobes on this thread that are doing the exact same thing. They speak using a god as their mouthpiece. Whatever their opinions, they can find biblical support for them. If you accuse them of hatefulness in their how they choose which scriptures to accentuate, they merely tell you to take it up with their god.

You people really need a mirror.

Thankful that Christ Himself has the final word. When I first read Foxes' book of martyrs that was quite sad. Many would insist that it was Christians killing other Christians. I have my doubts but as usual God has the last word.
Ask LAWEST. He knows the truth. He just told us he does.

Jesus said you have to follow each and every single law of the old testament,do you?
Oh, look! Adam has the truth, too. You all do. You get it from the Holy Spirit, right? That's your god speaking through you, and it gives you spiritual discernment, correct.

Now, if only any two of you could agree.

Not only are you a complete hypocrite but you are the one that's delusional.
Who did he insult? "A lot of people"?

I suggest that we give up the pretense about insults. You people are offensive. Your bible is offensive. You offend gays and you offend unbelievers.

[1] "The fool says in his heart,'There is no God.' They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good" - Psalm 14:1

Vile? That's offensive. Screw your bible and the god that you think wrote that.

[2] "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone." - Revelation 21:8

Do you believe that or disavow it? If the former, you compare me to a murderer and a whoremonger, and call me fit for torture. You have no room to complain about insults.

[3] Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ." - 1 John 2:22

Did the piece of crap that authored that just call me a liar for my unbelief? I have two words for him, and they're not "God bless."

And you're crying about, "A lot of people here are delusional"

Seriously - can we dispense with the BS? Why should anybody be concerned about offending you, especially if you choose to be offended by something like that?

Prince of peace? You're kidding, right? You need to read your bible:

"Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword." - Matthew 10:34

What you call love is what others call atheophobia and homophobia.

Today's Prayer

Dear God, Here I am, in awe of Your tremendous love and power. I too am persuaded that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any power, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate me from Your love that is in Christ Jesus our Lord (based on Romans 8:38-39). My identity is not in my job, my profession, nor any other thing, but in You. I am convinced that no matter what happens, I am a precious human being in Your sight and Your love, grace, and mercy will always sustain me. Thank you so much. InJesus' name, amen.

No he wasn't. Read the scripture again

"Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword." - Matthew 10:34

He specifically contrasted what he was bringing with peace.
LAWEST100 wrote:

Nonsense.

Christianity is a brutal religion with a brutal history, from the Crusades to the Inquisitions, and from the Klan to the Nazis. They all flew the Christian banner, and they all justified violence using the same bible.

You are in a dream world of your own spinning. As I said earlier, if you want to know what the bible actually teaches, you don't pull out your favorite words and say, "See? Peace." You look at the students - the Christians that read it - and see what they learned.

Well, you don't, but we do.

May PEACE reign Here
Didn't think I could make it back tonight – 8 pm Wed – and just missed you my Flutterbue Friend, but good friends don't have to live on one another's doorstep to know they are.
I thought you would be off the net with moving, so either way, I trust all is going to plan for you.
Please also pass on my condolences to our dear Trebbor, as he has never been forgotten.
“Another jewel is in His Crown”
Jewels - Lyrics:
When He cometh, when He cometh
To take up His jewels,
All His jewels, precious jewels,
His loved and His own.
CHORUS:
Like the stars of the morning, His bright crown adorning
They will shine in their beauty, bright jems for His crown.
He will gather, He will gather,
The jems for His kingdom,
All the pure ones, all the bright ones
His loved and His own.
CHORUS
Little children, little children,
Who love their Redeemer,
All the jewels, precious jewels,
His loved and His own.
CHORUS

Things are going very well for me, thanks. Chilly in SF? It's not even August yet (wink, wink). I remember the ballgames from Candlestick from my youth - it was pretty cool in August. LOL.

Good to have you here. We've had it all here. We've had some pretty good discussions and also some pretty good face-offs. There's also been a lot of humor and a little drama. And we have some decent theists as well.

You're describing Klan members. They've done that.

The world is not perishing. Your church is, however, at least in the West where it is known, and where people are educated. I hear its doing well where impoverished and unschooled people that are unfamiliar with it live, like Africa and Asia.

Congratulations!
