I know it will equality will eventually win out. I'm just speaking out against those who are against it because they need someone to step on.
Just because they're on the losing side doesn't mean I'm going to stop criticizing their hate.
I think they see one of the last places they can vent their frustrations is slipping away, as did the bigotry against Blacks a few decades ago, and some people can't be happy unless they have someone else who they can try to make unhappy.

Chris, in case you haven't known Kaitlin for a few years as I have, one thing you will never be right about is that she cannot keep up. She has everyone, who opposes her, way behind her in that area (except possibly me).

Those last threefew words were trying to be funny.

Truths, my mother would agree with you, and I am occasionally a bit ticked with her, but due to her age, I do not enter into an argument with her, though I might point her to the fact that the oldest son of my parents' best friends was gay (he died a few years ago from cancer, as did his father a few years before him).
Also the denomination which my mother has a major role in, as did I, and her sister is a minister in, not only accepts gay marriage and gays, but also now accepts gays as ministers in the church.
That was a big issue around a few years before I stopped attending church, and I was in a conservative congregation, due to were I worked, with a conservative minister, which was not in the upper levels of my denomination as far as being with the times.
I stood against the people there, and at a board meeting, being an elder on that board, I stood up at the meeting and said that the people in our church were bigots, because the congregation had previously voted 85% against gay ordination.
I might have left the church if that had been the general feeling of that denomination, but I would also have stayed to fight their hypocrisy, had I wanted to still be a church goer. For other reasons, and the fact that soon after I moved quite a distance to a new place, I eventually stopped attending church.
That denomination now has gay minsters, and does not condemn homosexuals in any manner whatsoever.
Having said that, it does not matter to me what any church, denomination, religion or individual believes or condemns, I will not stand for bigotry against anyone for a condition of their having been born into this world, be in location, color, sex, sexual orientation, and I don't really care what the Bible says about that, nor do I believe the Bible is anything but a book of writings by people of a time, some of which were adopted by the original Jewish religions, and the later ones by the Christian religion.
I do respect, though, what you say, and generally how you respond to others here.
On another point, which just comes to mind from an earlier post you made above. If you know of another thread or a different discussion site on which the topic of knowing God is being discussed, I would be interested in talking with you about that, however that topic has been over-used and misused too much, in my experience on the threads I have been involved in, and was not on topic, so I don't want to do that here.:)
God's word says to not misrepresent Him- and if people are doing so- they can not serve in The Body in leadership util they repair their testimony~ A church that allows open sin in it's leadership is not a church of the bible. It is a church of the flesh- and in pleasing congregants and NOT God. Therefore putting "self" above God.

God wants us to leave our flesh in order to not put self above His purpose for His people. Some people worship their money over God- some a ballteam- He wants us to not put anything above Him- because when you do put our focus on Him above all- we SEE moore clearly what MAN has done to each other )c:

.. food for thought ..
.. do some posters want people to come down to their level? For instance, Dr. Shrink and his aromatic farts? Why does anyone respond to to an individual with that type of trash talk? It's beyond my comprehension ..
LOL I don't know...I think most of us save him for the days that we feel like wallowing in a gutter!

On the other hand...are Kaitlyn's post any better?

We can always "justify" when someone is on our side...or we have some kind of connection to that person.
.. since most of us do not know each other, how can anyone "hurt, harm, embarrass or discredit" someone else on Topix ??..
Over time we all build a reputation by the posts that we write...by the issues that we speak up against. We "know" each other by those reputations. Just as in real life (IMO) we guard those reputations online. Just as in real life...people will attack what we have worked hard to build.
.. your point about going for the throat makes sense. Thanks ..
Sad that we do that...if we can't build ourselves up on our own values, morals, characteristics...I suppose that the only other way to make ourselves "look good" is to drag someone else down.

Yeshua is the “seed” of Abraham through whom all nations will be blessed (Genesis 12:3; 22:18). He is the “light for the Gentiles that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth”(Isaiah 49:6). His days are from eternity (Micah 5:2). He is the child spoken of in Isaiah:“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace”(Isaiah 9:6). He is our Messiah. He is the Messiah.

David was very important in the whole works of Jesus comming to be IN The flesh. BUT God OFFERS that SAME forgiveness to each of us.
But yet, David was still remained a fornicator and a wife cheater.

Nothing he said there is incorrect. Nothing can be argued against, because all that he says is true. The only thing that I would fault him on, if he could be faulted, is that one has to remember that you are addressing other human beings, who despite their weaknesses, and their gullibility, are still deserving of some respect, just because they are human, like he is. So though his making those comments on youtube, usually in response to someone arguing against him, is quite appropriate and okay, he might want to be a little less caustic if he was at a social gathering with others who he hoped would invite him back a second time.

Many people take attacks on their "beliefs" as personal attacks on them, as we see daily here.

I would expect it was the latter. Those who formulated the "bible" left out some very important writings and explanations in concern of history etc. for obvious reasons.
I agree.
If christians would just research the history of both the OT & NT they would notice many red flags popping up.
With today's technology, it's very simple.

I guess, since we allegedly have 40,000 various denominations, and sects of Christianity, and likely over 2 billion individual opinions on who is misrepresenting God, it would be rather difficult to objectively find which one is the real representative.

However, the denomination to which I refer is the leading Christian denomination in Canada, and represents denominations that are the leading Christian denominations in the world, and is the largest Protestant denomination in Canada, and possibly the one which gets the most attention of the general public, so if it is misrepresenting Christianity then no denomination is representing Christianity.

Again, that, to me, is now redundant, as though I do believe that this denomination has one of the best policies of churches worldwide, it still, IMO, is misled as to there being a God. It also like all the other denominations in the western world is rapidly disappearing.

I can't speak about Dr Shrink, as I have not known him very long, at least not as that alias, and so far I have no desire to know him better. On the other hand, I watched Kaitlin being bullied daily on several threads for several years by people who allegedly were God's gifts to humanity, according to their own descriptions, and so if she seems a bit caustic, at least in her situation, she has had some reasons, though even I have mentioned to her a few times that she might be gaining more by cutting back a bit on her ways of presenting herself, since she is one of the smarter posters on Topix, and thus does not necessarily require the type of approach she sometimes uses.

I guess I find her kind of approach more difficult to understand when it comes from a person claiming to be a Christian, than from someone who has never claimed here to be a Christian. My knowledge of what Christianity stands for leads me to expect a bit different type of post from them, yet many 'Christians' here make Kaitlin look like a saint, in comparison.

Sorry, Kaitlin, I am well aware that you are quite able to stand on your own two feet without my two cents worth, but as you no doubt are aware, I am one to give an opinion anyway.

We all have reasons why we do what we do Boots...

Most child abusers were abused as a child...

We can't justify our actions based on other people's actions.

I understand Kait's anger...I have experienced that anger myself. I sometimes respond based on that anger. I have to own that...I made the choice to do so...no one forced me to.

I have seen Kait respond in a kind and compassionate manner before...I actually like that Kait. I just don't enjoy reading about such descriptive accounts that she sometimes gives. I scroll by those.

This is what I think...if I am going to speak up about the actions of those that I disagree with...then I should have the courage to speak up about the actions of those that I do agree with. To do otherwise would make me a hypocrite...we have enough of those posting here without me adding to the number.

Though...I believe that all of us can be hypocrites at times...we see our "own kind" in a different light than we see the "opponent".

One frequently occurring complaint that I have seen on this thread is that Christians will not speak up against their own and yet point out the faults of non-Christians.
