I will share this with you...it was a gift to me from "X". It introduced me to Sophia...I think every woman should get to know her.

I will search (I seemed to have lost it) for ebook that I read that kept me reading...not only to get to know Sophia better but the gift of other women also. Hope that you enjoy this as much as I have.

PS...the last time I posted it here...there were a few pieces of rotten fruit thrown at me...get a shield! LOL

In the Beginning was the Word.
But before that,
she was Sophia.

An example of Hellenistic influence on Jewish thought, from the "Wisdom of Solomon", written shortly before, or around the time of Jesus and Philo. Perhaps Paul was familiar with this writing, watch for it.

---

For Sophia is more mobile than any motion;
because of her pureness she pervades and penetrates all things.

For she is a breath of the power of God,
and a pure emanation of the glory of the Almighty;
therefore nothing defiled gains entrance into her.

For she is a reflection of eternal light,
a spotless mirror of the working of God,
and an image of his goodness.

Though she is but one, she can do all things,
and while remaining in herself, she renews all things;
in every generation she passes into holy souls
and makes them friends of God, and prophets;

for God loves nothing so much as the man who lives with Sophia.

For she is more beautiful than the sun,
and excels every constellation of the stars.
Compared with the light she is found to be superior,
for it is succeeded by the night,
but against Sophia, evil does not prevail.

She reaches mightily from one end of the earth to the other,
and she orders all things well.

I loved her and sought her from my youth,
and I desired to take her for my bride,
and I became enamored of her beauty.

She glorifies her noble birth by living with God,
and the Lord of all loves her.

For she is an initiate in the knowledge of God,
and an associate in his works.

I dont put my trust in religious wannabe dictators. My trust is in God.
Explain what you mean by choice. Reject or accept what. Why is Jesus central to an acceptance of the most high essence? How could worshiping a lesser entity be proper in the light of "thou shall have no other gods before me". It would be no different than Moses' people worshiping the golden calf.

Thanks BT...I will add her to my reading list.

I was never much interested in mythology of any type while in school. I am not sure why. It actually wasn't until I did some reading on "Sophia" that it captured my attention. Maybe my interest is because of "woman".

I will now read of "Maat".
