You can dance with me on that one. I remember also mentioning time and space, but... only you said it went over their head! I might miss some posts with our time zones, but would be interested if you can recall that one, even if mentally for a jump start.
I remember Solomon well... "nothing new under the sun"! He sure did have a lot to pass on, and I know his father King David came down as far as South Africa in those times... of course it was very different then! But it is also a fact Solomon came thru to mines he also had. Many folk think that's fiction, but it's not. It is no different that even the Zulu's came south from Egypt. There are chiefs who still pass this along.
Then there's Jesus's history root via David, and him mentioning that even Solomon in all his wisdom was not arrayed like even the lilies of the field.
Thanx for sharing all you do, and God Bless lil sister.

Lets dance and see what happens

The body is a vessel for the spirit. Now the body ages by years but the spirit ages by God time table.Space and time.

In 2 Peter 3:8 reads like this; But beloved be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day.

So the vessels is by years but the spirit is in God time table.
Age of body is different than age of spirit.Do you see the vision.

Others have not seen this vision cannot grasp or understand.

I went to church the Sunday before Easter and on Easter Sunday with my parents. I really had a good time. The Pastor asked me to play for the congregation. I played Amazing Grace solo and then accompanied the choir and pianist. During the sermon, I kept my tongue firmly between my teeth.
So this is you River!
Take Care in your travels my friend... you still honored you parents, despite even I hold my tongue in such places. Would love to hear you play, and hope it remains a memory for always all round for them and for you.
Luv always River Alice in case we miss one another again.

I suspect that people go for different reasons, and get different benefits from it.
But the main reason, and the reason churches need to exist at all, is to help people adhere to whatever flavor of nonsense they've landed on. Churches are essential elements in the process of manipulative indoctrination.
Lots of Christians have become disillusioned with the idea of belonging to a church or even a denomination. This is a good sign, and a good trend.
The trend towards more individualized religious faith will make propagation far less likely.
We must minister the churchgoers to abandon their allegiance to their church and go it solo.

No this is not what I meant by 'ridiculous reasoning'---we shall try this again.
YOU said , were me and Lawless there for the 40 years--- I turned it around and asked YOU ,since you said he may have SLEPT during the sermons-- were YOU there. that , my dear, is why I said that your reasoning was ridiculous, because you AKED if WE were there, when you knew good and well we WERE NOT, so I in returned asked you the ridiculos question.
The reason I said it MAY have been his clueless church and his cluless Christians is because, I cannot fathom anyone going to church for 40 years and DOES NOT BELIEVE that GOD exist.
( In my opinion)
So to make a long story short for you. I do not believe he hasn't met CLULESS Christians in his 40 years going to church if he thinks there is no God.
But he said there are more clueless Christians on HERE.

I saw this quote while I was googling:

"Atheism is not a religion. It's a personal relationship with reality."

Everyone who claims to have abandoned religion to pursue a personal relationship with a deity, has, on some level, realized that religion is inherently flawed. They're using "religion" as an insult when they claim atheism is nothing BUT another religion. We are just as reliant on faith, they say, as an insult.

I recall going to a church meeting one evening at a church in a new town where we had moved. I had been accustomed to lively discussions at church meetings in previous years, because the topic would always be controversial and people held many opinions, but at this particular place the people just sat around and told each other what their particular copy of the Bible said, since they had various editions of the Bible there.
I could really see no point to that group at all, because there was nothing to discuss, nothing to learn, nothing to think about. Just people trying to prove they could read.
I kind of think constant posting of Bible verses on a discussion thread is much the same; just people trying to prove they can cut and paste Bible verses ad nauseum.
The likelihood that anyone is going to post anything that others have not heard or read many many times before is not very high.
Hey B,
The name of this thread is Why Should Jesus Love Me? It should not surprise you that scripture is being posted. Frankly I don’t think it surprises you at all. That you came because you knew scripture would be posted and you could criticize it and harass people that believed in it. Believe or not, God has seen and heard all this and will see and hear all that is to be. He is with us because we are His Children. You are harassing Gods Children. So go ahead and enjoy it while you can, one day the time for that will be over and so will be your chance to choose.

He would like for you to be His too but lets you choose.

The reason that we originally came together was to find others to grow in our walk with God with and that is what happened. We got together and shared our blessings. Help each other through trying times. We explained what we thought about passages in the Bible, etc... We did not get together so unbelievers could use us as doormats. And doormats are what they have been trying to make out of us for years now. But, as you can see we are still here. God must still have a purpose for having led each of us to the same thread. I don’t remember the name of the one God first led me to. But the Sisters and Brothers have help me to grow in my walk with God and no matter what God leads me to next, here or not, I thank Him for bringing us together to praise Him and share with each other. I certainly would have been missing a lot had I not met them.

Blessings my Sisters and Brothers in Christ.

I’m also glad I met some that do not claim to be Christians. May God be with you.

I like to make them happy when I can, Catcher. I've been a terrible burden to them. Two Christian missionaries with an atheist lesbian daughter. Granted, it's not my fault that sex was more important than a trip to the condom store, but still, I love them.

Qingming is an important time in the East. It's a time to honor the dead and celebrate new life.

How does pasting Bible verses contribute to discussion? Is this not a discussion thread?
Why can't anyone interested in their belove scriptures not look them up and read them themselves to their heart's content?
Why can’t people keep their disgusting behavior and saying to them selves and think about them without sharing them with others. I would rather read scripture that some of the stuff non-believers have been posting on this thread!

Yep, it's still me. I picked River Tam when I came to Topix at 17 because, like the character, I was a somewhat misunderstood. Next month, I won't be a teenager anymore but River Tam always will be. So I chose Alice. She was physically altered against her will, like me, but she's not a teenager and...she's hot.

I love Bible study as well, this thread used to be a great one for that. Now it's a joke, like most threads in topix.
I always appreciate it when scripture is posted and sometimes even discussed, without mockery. I know others that appreciate it also.
No one has the right to tell me or anyone else what we can post and how to post.

Matthew 7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
*
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
*
26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
*
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

Thessalonians 2:2
Now concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to him, we ask you, brothers, 2 not to be quickly shaken in mind or alarmed, either by a spirit or a spoken word, or a letter seeming to be from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come. 3 Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, 4 who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God. 5 Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? 6 And you know what is restraining him now so that he may be revealed in his time. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. Only he who now restrains it will do so until he is out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the breath of his mouth and bring to nothing by the appearance of his coming. 9 The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, 10 and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, 12 in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
13 But we ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers beloved by the Lord, because God chose you as the firstfruits to be saved, through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth. 14 To this he called you through our gospel, so that you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15 So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the traditions that you were taught by us, either by our spoken word or by our letter.
16 Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, 17 comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word.
