Thanks. I just added this to my list of Christian atheophobic hate speech scriptures - number four.
[1] "The fool says in his heart,'There is no God.' They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good" - Psalm 14:1
[2] "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone." - Revelation 21:8 And the result of such hate speech is predictable:
[3]“Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?”- 2 Corinthians 6:14
[4] Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ." - 1 John 2:22
Here, unbelievers have been called fools, vile, corrupt, wicked, dark, liars, the moral equivalent of murderers and whoremongers, and appropriate to be tortured in fire and brimstone. The world is told that not one of us is any good. Not even one.
What do you think is an appropriate response from unbelievers to this kind of thing?
What would be an equivalent response? How about,
"Who is the liar? It is the man who call Jesus a god. Christians are trash. None do good. Not even one. They are the moral equivalent of pedophiles and sheep shaggers, and fit to be cast into boiling oil screaming for their lives."
That evens things up a bit, wouldn't you agree? Did you like it? I doubt that too many of you people will like the "trash" part. There has already been plenty of belly aching about that term, but really, is it any different for an unbeliever to call Christians trash than it is for Christians to call us any of the things listed above?
If not, why do you post things like that about people like me? Do you think that we should sit for it?
Hmmmmm right back at you.
Did you wonder why that scripture bothers you? I haven't called anyone any names here...

Sorry Ted.....Thanks for the Hmmmm back...Go out an enjoy this beautiful day!!

Mark 5:1-9

They went across the lake to the region of the Gerasenes.
When Jesus got out of the boat, a man with an evil spirit came from the tombs to meet Him.
This man lived in the tombs, and no one could bind him anymore, not even with a chain.
For he had often been chained hand and foot, but he tore the chains apart and broke the irons on his feet. No one was strong enough to subdue him.
Night and day among the tombs and in the hills he would cry out and cut himself with stones.
When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and fell on his knees in front of Him.
He shouted at the top of his voice, "What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? Swear to God that you won't torture me!"
For Jesus had said to him,

"Come out of this man, you evil spirit!"

Then Jesus asked him, "What is your name?"

"My name is Legion," he replied, "for we are many."

Experiencing God Day By Day:
Changed through Meditation
But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night.(Psalms 1:2)

Meditation means “to think deeply and continuously about something.” For a Christian, this means remaining in the presence of God and pondering each truth He reveals about Himself until it becomes real and personal in your life. This takes time. In His Sermon on the Mount, Jesus accused certain would-be followers of calling Him “Lord” and yet never doing what He told them (Luke 6:46). They had the correct truth in their heads, but it had never translated into obedience. When you meditate on Scriptures, the truth moves from your head to your heart and results in obedience. As the Psalmist said:“Your word have I hidden in my heart,/ That I might not sin against You”(Ps. 119:11).
*
When you know God’s Word in your mind but not in your heart, it means that you have learned the principles and concepts and doctrines of God, but you have not come to know Jesus personally. You can reject a doctrine, or ignore a concept, or challenge a principle, but it is much more difficult to ignore a Person. You can have Scripture in your mind and still sin against God. There are those who can recite long passages of Scripture and yet live ungodly lives. However, you cannot have Scripture fill your heart and continue to sin against God. When God’s truth is allowed to touch the deepest corner of your soul, the Holy Spirit will transform you into the image of Jesus Christ. Don’t just read your Bible, meditate on God’s Word and ask Him to change your heart.

Seriously? You cite hateful scripture and then hide behind it. It's both hateful and cowardly.

Nobody's waiting for you to own that.

Do you have a picture of the devil? Can I see it?
