I remember reading somewhere that the Catholic church didn't want priests to marry because they wanted all property to go back to the church. But you are absolutely right, there is nothing in the Bible that says church leaders must be celibate. And I agree that allowing married priests would almost certainly reduce the instances of child abuse. Frankly, I don't see what rational argument there is for keeping priests celibate. And I say that a a celibate person myself.
Yeah, the Catholic church did allow marriage and they stopped it for the reasons you stated. Heirs were taking relics and money as their own. The Church couldn't have that.

You're wrong, and not even close. I just wonder why. Are you sincere but just a little slow on the uptake, or not so honest. It doesn't really matter, but I wonder. You don't seem unable to understand me, but you seldom do.

Wrong again. Sorry that you feel that way. I do nothing like what Dim did, and Dim did nothing like what I do.

And I mean that! If he has no more COMMON SENSE than he's showing towards flightcrews, and passengers,he needs to be FIRED and replaced. Period. He's worried about the 'few extra minutes' it's costing the TSA to check for,and remove, knives instead of worrying the safety and concerns of passengers and flightcrew members about knives being allowed back on planes. I mean, not just terrorists, but ANY deranged passenger, could perpetrate an in-flight act that would disrupt the flight. And,again,we're not necessarily talking about 'preventing a highjacking',we're talking about using COMMON SENSE in a post-September 11th world. See,this is the same kind of IGNORANCE aimed at trying to save money and time that allowed the September 11th hijackers to board those planes undetected like SNAKES.

Sorry, Juice, but slanders without evidence are reprehensible and are simply unacceptable - at least not with many of us. The flock don't seem to object, however, so you've got that working for you.

I will on occasion, but I don't pay them very much attention.
I know other people that are skeptical of unregistered users but IMO being registered does not guarantee someone's validity. I know that there have been posters that have 30-40 registered accounts.

Me...I registered just so I could have a picture!

I use a lot of cooking sites and they all want you to register. If you do...you get inundated with emails and all kinds of junk.

Juicy's character--actually, her lack of it--has been apparent to me for a while.

That's why the Catcher white sheet was drawn over her some time ago.

I don't suffer the loathsome.

It's a great picture, Annie.

One question though: How does one turn it around to see the other side?

Theses men are springs without water and mists driven by a storm Blackest darkness is reserved for them.

For they mouth empty, boastful words and by appealing to the lustful desires of sinful human nature they entice people who are just escaping from those who live in error.

They promise them freedom while they themselves are slaves of depravity for a man is a slave to whatever has mastered him.

Well...since I am not part of some flock here I paid very little attention to her accusations. I am good friends with someone that has posted on a few threads with HFY and he has always spoke highly of her intelligence...I will take his word for it. She sometimes is a little over my head with the scientific speak so I just nod my head and think...okay.

I do believe that even in an environment such as this that if you are going to call someone a "liar" (which to me is a grave offense) you need to be able to back up your accusations with just not evidence...but proof.

I have gone to the trouble after being accused of being a liar to prove that I didn't...only to have it ignored by the accuser. I won't do it again...to hell with 'em!

Oh well...it is what it is...I suppose.

Sure, a person can register many accounts, but you can search those accounts and look at the history etc... The registered user can be banned(rare on topix, I know, but it does happen), so that somewhat forces or requires the registered user to adhere to some sort of standard.

The unregistered user can be as vile, irresponsible, or duplicitous as they want, they have nothing to worry about.

Hold up a mirror! LOL

That picture has been the subject of more than a couple of conversations here. Some think it is porn.

I happen to love that piece of art. It is entitled..."In The Garden"...she was one artist's interpretation of "EVE". Much more beautiful then the one's depicting her with fig leaves.
