I noticed later on you posted that you had not intended to give the link you did, but thank you for doing so. ;O) I have been around horses since I was a child, but have not had the pleasure of owning one yet myself. We are having a lot of fun preparing ourselves to adopt a few now that we have the land available.
It’s always good to read you Peace, and I hope all is well in your slice of the world.

Thanks for compiling all of that.

This isn't about Dim and I misunderstanding one another. He went far beyond that.

What I was looking for was one Christian to tell Dim that he was out of line for repeatedly calling his errors in comprehension my lies, and for refusing to even try to show one of those lies. I was hoping one of you would ask him to show you such a lie, and then chastise him when he failed. That never happened.

That part is history now. I don't expect anything from any of the players involved any more. All that remains is for me to continue thanking Dim in his own way, although I will use the word "moron" instead of "liar".

Does that seem fair to you? I'm not asking if you like it, or want to see it. I can't imagine that anybody that likes Dim would. I'm asking if you think that I am being unfair to him, and if so, why.

Really? You question that? All that I have said is that without religion, there would be less strife in the world. To me, the truth of that is obvious.

If you took the religious people out of this thread, there would be no or almost no fighting. Every single example of abusive language in this thread is either a Christian-to-Christian post or a Christian-to-unbeliever post. If you can find a single counterexample of an unbeliever calling another unbeliever liar, bigot, pervert, abomination or any other such term, I will reconsider my claim.

And if you can't, will you reconsider?

Today's Prayer

Dear God, There are people in this world that I can learn so much from; people who have gone through hard things that have strengthened their faith, people who have been Christians for years and are so much more spiritually mature than I am. On the other hand, there are people in this world who can learn from me. Please show me if there is someone you would have me be a mentor to or someone who should be my mentor. And please, keep working on me so that I might be the witness in the world that you want me to be. Thank you, Lord. In Jesus' name. Amen.

How do you account for that? And what does it say about the influence of the Christian church on people?

Yuck,,I used to work with some people from Columbia and they would eat Iguana's. Whole Iguana's with their scales and all. I was gagging while they heated them up in the microwave. I couldn't stand the smell. I would never survive if I suddenly found myself stranded in a third world country and had to survive in the wild jungles. lol

I don't think so. Regardless of what the popular belief is among believers, the principle message of the bible is to submit.

I don't see much love from Christianity. Maybe you saw my post to Peace_Warrior a few minutes ago at http://www.topix.com/forum/topstories/T0N0LOR...

And I just read this about the new pope:

"When Argentina legalized gay marriage that summer, the objection of the Catholic hierarchy, which considers homosexuality a sin, wasn’t surprising. But it wasn’t enough for Bergoglio to criticize the law; he felt compelled to demonize homosexuals in the process—calling gay unions “a scheme to destroy God’s plan” and “a dire anthropological throwback.” In that sense he was just echoing the homophobia of his boss, the Pope emeritus Benedict XVI, who in 2008 had asserted that saving humanity from homosexuals was as urgent as saving the rain forests from lumberjacks. But there was something especially hateful, something that moved beyond doctrinal defense into bald bigotry, about the way Bergoglio lashed out."

That's two huge contradictions to your assertion that your religion is about love that I have encountered just in the last hour. Calling hate "love" doesn't make it that.

The reason that didn't happen could be because we all read the conversation. I personally think it's a game and that you know very well what you post. Going back to read a post you make is evidence enough and not that different to copying and pasting it. Ok, you said 'evidence' he said 'proof'. I've you you make that mistake, with me even. No, I'm not going back and copy pasting the same exact thing here. There is no rule that says everyone has to post in the same style as you :-)

It's not the best influence in some places and it's a wonderful influence in some places. At the end of the day, haters are going to hate and people fight. You going to abolish politics and families as well? How about all the Scientists who don't agree on anything? What about drugs? What about Psychological Illness? What's the plan Teddy? Implant chips? Turn humans into cyborgs so we all think alike and are the same? I'm curious, how far are you going to take it? You must be very powerful, going by your speeches. Are you a Communist?

<quoted text>
I don't think so. I don't think that I gave it human characteristics.
Keep in mind that what I am defining is what I think most people mean when they use the word "god" or "God." My definition would acknowledge that such creatures might not exist.
Obviously, sometimes people mean other things that a universe creating deity when they say "god" - like non-creator entities such as Athena, or even distinguished men like a pharaoh or Eric Clapton.
What I have described is not man-like at all. It might be called an agent - it possesses agency. But this being is otherwise not like a human being at all. Isn't that what anthropomorphic implies - manlike?
<quoted text>
I thought that I gave you a decent approximation of what is usually meant by "god" and "God." Do you find my definitions lacking?
Why did you ask? And what is your definition of these words, capitalized and not?
If you make the word vague or meaningless enough, nobody can argue that such a thing exists. Or exists.
Are you familiar with the term "ignosticism"? From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ignosticism :
[Ignosticism] can be defined as encompassing two related views about the existence of God:
The view that a coherent definition of God must be presented before the question of the existence of God can be meaningfully discussed. Furthermore, if that definition is unfalsifiable, the ignostic takes the theological noncognitivist position that the question of the existence of God (per that definition) is meaningless. In this case, the concept of God is not considered meaningless; the term "God" is considered meaningless.
The second view is synonymous with theological noncognitivism, and skips the step of first asking "What is meant by 'God'?" before proclaiming the original question "Does God exist?" as meaningless.
==========
What this means is that if one cannot give an operational definition of god - that is, if one cannot provide a definition of the word "God" in terms of "the specific process or set of validation tests used to determine its presence and quantity" or "in terms of the operations that count as measuring it" - discussion of the topic is meaningless metaphysical masturbation.
GOD is an ENERGY that humans cannot comprehend... in my opinion, of course :) Same as ANGELS are an ENERGY that there are different levels of comprehension for, again, in my opinion. For those that can see Auras, I believe, they have been really Blessed, for they can see the energy that we produce, and some can see the energy that ANGELS produce, and GOD has an energy above and beyond recognition, unless one recognises HIM from within.

My comparison to these different levels of energy and who has the 'sense' to see them to that of who ever it was who created the silent dog whistle. I can't hear it whistle, but in saying that, have no doubts that the whistle works...... for there are more than just the creator of the silent whistle that can hear it, and I believe it has proven that dogs react to it.

I have seen dogs put their heads up in the air and howl like a wolf when an ambulance or vehicle as such with sirens is somewhere nearby, although not necessarily in the immediate vicinity, and have never seen them howl apart from those times.

And yet other dogs ignore them! We need to see that there is more to more than meets the eye, and work with the more we know less of :)
