Quick grammar note:
"HFY may "irk" me, but..." is how your sentence should be written.
<quoted text>
Two things:
1. Yes, you are. But you don't have to be. Age is a mindset. Sorry you choose to feel old.
2. If you're not interested, skip our posts. Don't pretend to not be interested, read them, and then write "wow, I'm so not interested, I'm going to respond with attacks indicated that your words had an emotional effect on me. Grrrr! And I'm not interested! Not even a little!"

May I interest you in the Church of the Holy Catcher?

Happy hour every day; double-happy all day Sunday!

Aw, thanks. My boys & I have tons of fun. But I'm dad first, friend second.
I've tried so many churches, denominational & non denominational. I can't find one that isn't full of hypocrites, thieves, sluts, drug addicts, etc.
Except for one. I went there when I was 19, the pastor had a full time job & was a "weekend preacher". He was a good, honest, hard working man that wasn't using that church as a profit building. I stopped going because his family moved out of state. Sucked.
My folks talked me into trying their church. It was a long time ago, I told my dad I was fed up with churches and money, money, money. He swore to me that his church wasn't like that. The Sunday, the ONE time, I went the preacher gave a sermon on, guess what? Tithe. UGH! I remember him preaching that "If you don't give tithe, God gets mad at you."
In mind my, I told him to f_ck off, I left mid-sermon and that was that.
Wow, you've had some nasty run-ins with churches.

Hey, I've had some nasty run-ins with scientists (when they get the science wrong and play politics, thereby corrupting objectivity).

It's not the [blank], it's the people, RR.

Yes in a lot of ways peace is a state of being Ira. But letting the fact that a few come here and try to ruin the peace some found in here with each other slide does nothing to enhance their or our peace. I have said this before and I’ll say it again. God has not told me to be others door mat, it’s not good for them and not good for the ones they are trying to use for a door mat. Some times a person can be too nice and endure persecution of their on making. Sometimes it is better to stand for what is right.
All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men/women do nothing.
I know I know I know... Don't be offended. Was just sharing his wise words.

I could say and act differently... that wouldn't be true to myself or to you... let alone my Father in heaven.

It is not the easy path to 'be still'.
Never believe this is Faith without action.

No different to what the eye cannot see, any more than the blade of grass in it's strength and growth when it is beneath the soil. The Light is not only visible above ground, nor the Energy of the it's Force.

King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.)
I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
***

In overcoming 'evil' I believe emphatically God too is creating Peace.

But for some reason or other - from what I observe in Life - too many folk don't count the duality of God's Power either - nor see 'Him' in any test of the Christian Faith.

Mentally, no you might not, that is for sure.lol

One of these days, you will look in the mirror and see a LOT of old wrinkles ,--a hard core person , usually has a lot of wrinkled up face. You will wonder what you have done with your life, and where did it go!

Yes'um, I know.

That's why I've severed my ties with any churches but kept my faith in God strong.

You gotta be kidding, dude.

We're still trying to develop our liturgy.

It's a work in progress.

Some decisions have already been made: no hell, no discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, free condoms.

We preach none of those awful things in the Church of the Holy Catcher.

We have an opening for Director of Public Relations, and I think you'd be perfect for the job.
