Wow. I really don't think it's possible to get my explanation any more incorrect. I'll try simplifying:
1. everyone is encultured
2. no one is not encultured
3. it's not possible to not be encultured (unless you'r a robot)
4. No, don't ask me stupid questions here, just re-read 1-3 until you get them.
5. Yes, atheism is a learned way of seeing the world. It's not quite the same as religion, but it involves trying out "ways of being not-religious" - all unconsciously - and seeing if they work for you.
I could go into great detail here, but every single post of yours gets what I write wildly wrong. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing and it seems we cannot move beyond little, so I will simply stop at "yes, all people's lived realities are subjective."
The lives of atheists' too.
Yet you behave exactly like the atypical, arrogant, cold hearted emperor worshipper, have you heard of Mahikari? Su?

Fair enough, that's not the the society I live in. I live in a 82% secular society where very few people have any concept of morality. I'm pretty sure religion, in most countries, has stopped having that kind of effect since the 70's and is mostly completely ignored and ridiculed now but I could be wrong and you are the Anthropologist here after all.
I decided to be celibate because I got sick of being used for my body, I developed self respect and I like it, there's nothing worse than men treating women like holes with legs, thank you for asking instead of just assuming some religion controls my life :-)

Actually I have my dear friend Drew to thank for helping me to understand the passages of adultry in this particular situation. Through Gods grace.
Denominations see and view this subject differently and they are entitled to their perspective. I trust and believe as Drew does. I choose not to pass judgement or hold grudges and if I recall I did ask Scott how he viewed my marriage, and he responded with his belief.
I'm firm in my faith -- and I love you all. Especially both of you.

Hi Judy :-) That part confuses me, I'd love some input...

Separated 4 years for the second time in 10.
Supposed husband, cheated and impregnated 2 other women.
Was not a Christian marriage, we were both atheists.
Not long before current separation, I became a Christian, he is still an atheist.
For some reason unknown to me, he has not started divorce proceedings despite constantly saying he will.
He claims to (and I'm inclined to believe him) have only married me for two reasons, one to rebel as I was an atheist and the second was well, I won't mention the second but it was not love.

Can I divorce him?

I would just like to see people's views on this, mainly Christian elders.

Thank you :-)

I do mean Biblically of course.
I am well aware I can do what I want but it just doesn't work like that for me.

1. Do you really, really believe in Satan? It's just a metaphor for "bad."
2. Any perfectly omniscient and omnipotent deity who Creates humankind and then "wants to humble" them is quite clearly not all-loving or perfect.
That's an "oops, I created an arrogant humankind in my image. My bad. Now I will humble them,'cause I'm too insecure to deal with their awesomeness."
I seriously don't understand why you guys believe all the incompatible stuff you do.
Yes. I really do believe the opposer exists. As do daemoens. I don't expect or demand your understanding but I saw what I saw and experienced what I experienced. Mockery and/or opinions do not change any of it.

The simple cure for all those diseases and to keep from getting pregnant when you didn’t want to is to, until you are married, keep the pants zipped and legs closed.
Simple and effective. But heaven forbid someone should deny themselves and do the right thing.
This world is going to hell in a hand basket and if anyone wants to see why all they have to do is read posts from people who think like you do. No it’s not the Christians that are causing all the problems, it’s non Christians like you. Not all non Christians just some. There are bad ones on both sides of the so called fence.

<quoted text>So. You were enculturated to be an Atheist.
And as you say lady, Everyone is enculturated.
Well, all cultures, can't be right now can they?
You were cultured to deny the existence of Deities. Other cultures affirm the existence of Deities.
Both cultures, can't be right can they?
So, are you open to the idea, that your paradigm of enculturaton, could be false?
Everything I know is false to someone else. Everything I know in science will be refined and changed in the future.

Here's the problem you've been avoiding: believers of other religions know, with exactly as much power and authority as you have, that their deities are real, their religions, true. They do not subjectively or objectively experience your deity, just like you do not experience theirs.

And I do not experience yours or theirs.

That tells us two things:

First, your god is not omnipresent, but only real for you because you are a socially trained believer. Their gods likewise are not real for you and only real for them because they are socially trained in their religions.

Second, since any of your deities from any religion are subjectively real ONLY for believers, none of them are objectively real.

Hence, my position more accurately models the sum total of you believer's subjective realities with regards to other people's deities. Since my position overlaps with everyone's subjective experiences and since your position does not, parsimony dictates that my position of atheism is closest to the objective reality humans never experience directly.

Therefore, deities, including your own, are imagined beings.

And I should care what you think about my belief system why? Remember, your wants and thoughts don’t have to matter to others like it does to you Miss thinks she knows it all. Think what you want.

Hey SP,
Yes if things keep going the way it has been things can only get worse. I think God is giving us a chance to wake up and come to him. I just hope we hear and respond to His call. I believe God will come for His Children before it gets too bad but in the mean time… But what ever, we will have Him to guide us through.

Plato wrote about the generation after his as having the worst morals ever and going to be the end of the world, etc., etc.

You're singing a tired song. You're just moving on in age and unable to keep up. Sorry. The world's leaving your ways behind and the only way you seem to be able to cope is by telling everyone else they're wrong and their morality sucks.

The world isn't going to end. People aren't going to end just because their behaviors are changing. Calm down, it will be ok.
