Yep, you're a moron. Do you know what a false analogy is?
"Gay" is not an equivalent to "Christianity". Try "Islam".
"Gay" does not relate, so inserting that into your analogy makes it fallacious. That means, Dim, that it doesn't work to show what you want it to show, on two levels. Number one, the original statement wasn't bigoted, so you can replace it with any valid substitute, and it wouldn't demonstrate any bigotry. Number two, gay is not a religion. It's not an ideology. It's not a choice.

You're opening the door, drug addict.
How many brain cells do you have to have left to see that coming?
<quoted text>
Of course you wouldn't understand that either, because you haven't been taught how to behave ethically in a diverse society.
The Bible doesn't teach that.
<quoted text>
You are most certainly, Dim.
Man are you stupid

I am comparing the hate not the groups being hated

The hate is exactly the same

And when hate manifests itself through negative stereotypes it is called bigotry

S.F. Gay Rights Leader Arrested Over Child Porn:

S.F. CRIME:

Rachel Gordon:

Published 09:21 p.m., Monday, June 25, 2012:

San Francisco police have arrested veteran gay rights advocate Larry Brinkin in connection with felony possession of child pornography.
Brinkin, 66, who worked for the San Francisco Human Rights Commission before his retirement in 2010, was taken into custody Friday night. He spent the night in jail before he was released on bail, according to a spokeswoman for the sheriff's department.

The district attorney's office will decide Tuesday whether to file charges. "We're still reviewing the case," district attorney's spokeswoman Stephanie Ong Stillman said Monday.

Police say that Brinkin had pornographic images, some that appear to show children as young as 1 and 2 or 3 years old being sodomized and performing oral sex on adult men, in e-mail attachments linked to his account, according to a search warrant served by San Francisco police.
Representatives of America Online contacted authorities after coming across e-mail attachments from one of its subscriber's accounts containing what they believed to be child pornography.

LOL

At least I have remained consistent in what I believe.

You want me to die???

If I tried to fly
I would surely die.

I would surely die
While up in the sky.

When I fell from the sky
I would surely die.

So I ask with a sigh
Do you want me to fly
For up in the sky
I would surely die.

Okay...what the heck...I used to have this dream as a child...I could surely fly and I would not die.

I have a hunch most these guys are more of the feminine guy variety

It is why they have created this cyber-world where they travel in groups and defend each other

If they can't stand on their own two feet online, how bad must it be in real life?

The Bible doesn't teach that.
Who is it that determines what is moral? "Mind-dependence" teaches that ethics is created by thought—whether of man or of God.

Realists say that all ethical acts can be reduced to a physical truth about the universe, independent of man and God.

If morality gets its authority from a person or a group of people, then it follows that ethics are subjective—they can change for the situation or individual.

If, however, morality gets its authority from the natural world or a supernatural force, then all of mankind is subject to the same law, and ethics are universal.

i'm sure yours was a response to a previous post, but i used it to share the gospel and get back on track.

please tell me what you think about the following theory:

if God indeed so loves the world and if He indeed did send His Son into it and if we do indeed have meticulously preserved documentation of His words and deeds; how trivial do you think it sounds when someone from this said world sums it all up as "spiritual comfort in your faith"?:)

Can I shutdown all the churches in my community except the one the majority likes, perhaps a Mosque, and you have no problem with that because no one is forcing you to attend the Mosque.

Lets put it another way. The school has a satanic coven during the morning (55% of the children voted for it). Your child doesn't have to participate but he is forced to "watch in respectful silence".

There are some lines in the Bible that I try to remember and have paraphrased for my usage...
What have you accomplished if you only love those who love you?
What have you accomplished if you only to good for those who do good for you?
My mind and my heart do battle over these statements at times. Again...quite often I lose that battle.
.. philosophically and spiritually, the premise of loving those who hate works well. It's what Jesus taught ..

.. harsh reality paints another picture. Can children love bullies? Can adults love the person who kills their dog or cat ??..

.. it denigrates the very concept of love ..

Yes...there is a disconnect. To me the statements are basically saying the same thing...one is a secular version...the other a Christian version.
Since...I see them as basically saying the same thing...in my mind they both carry the possibility as being used as a cover up for hatred.
There's a slight difference between what one can demonstrate as wrong, even in a subjective way, and what someone just believes is wrong, because an authority tells them so.

In that way, there is a difference between the concept of sin, and rationally derived ethics.
AnnieJ wrote:
Do you think that everyone that says..."hate the sin but not the sinner" is being sincere?
No.
AnnieJ wrote:
I don't...not when they have also said...pervert...immoral...the y should stay in a closet...they should be shipped out...filth...etc etc.
Or...how does one love the homeless when they call them bums...worthless...drain on society...etc etc.
Is there any Biblical verse that basically states that homosexuals should be accepted as they are, as sinners, to be treated just like all other sinners, in the church and outside of it?

Maybe the Jesus is supposed to whisper that into their ears personally.

Where the Bible is explicit on homosexuality, it is not tolerant. That sends a message in itself. People need something beyond the Bible to be tolerant of homosexuals and homosexuality.
AnnieJ wrote:
Maybe an example that will make sense...
The poster named Adam has said more than once that homosexuals should be killed. I hate and have no respect for his ideology...I don't hate him. I will admit however...there are times that when he leaves music for me...I don't respond because of knowing his ideology.
I hate and detest CS's ideology...I don't hate him. Though I admit...there are times that I have no respect for him as a person.
IMO...you thought that I was defending IANS and that upset you...when all I was doing was questioning why a phrase would indicate that someone was a bigot and a bully and comparing that phrase to another that IMO says the same thing. Both phrases IMO can hold truth...they both also can be a coverup...a feel good about yourself cliche.
Christianity contains countless bad ideas. Some of them have yet to be discarded by Christians. If me and those like me trying to expose more bad ideas is wrong, how can they enjoy New and Improved Christianity without being thankful for those like me that came before, that helped them discard bad ideas? Is it because we are on the outside? I think so. It's tribalism doing it's thing. I don't like tribalism in any form, which includes religion, for this very reason. You try to help, and you're labeled a bigot. That's a helluva thank you.

in my definition of the term; there's no way 1 anonymous person possibly thousands of miles away from another can really 'hit on' anyone in a public forum like this. i do believe that it's possible to get silly and flirtatious tho.

if you're gonna hold being silly against 1 particular person because of their shared views, you'd be a hypocrite if you didn't hold everyone to your same standard. you don't really wanna be a blatant hypocrite now, do ya?:)

If it wasnt during class and was elective and 55% was the higest peercentage of agreement then I simply would not allow my child to participate. Although I would think they could find something that a larger majority would be ok with as I think that should be the goal to have as many kids involved as possible. I cant imagine a scenario where you example would fit that but if it did then yes I would not oppose it but would not let my childc participate and would probably be looking at other schools if that many were into devil worship. But I wouldnt try to restrict what others do if they decided fairly

.. you're saying G_O_D's belief system is wrong. Again ..
.. abstracted from WHEN JESUS BECAME GOD by Richard Rubenstein, here's a little history for you ..
1. In 324, Constantine the Great became the emperor of Rome.
2. Christians turned to the quest of how to define what beliefs identified a 'true' Christian.
3. Arius preached that Jesus, thought uniquely holy, is less than God.
4. Athanasius argued that Jesus is God himself in human form.
5. The debate over Jesus' degree of divinity escalated from heated arguments to violence and bloodshed.
6. Athanasius won the argument and Jesus became God.
.. and, no, I won't give you the page numbers. Buy the book ..
well gosh - a common person could easily deduce that Jesus is God just by reading the Bible!:)
