You do...as long as the person is of legal age and is consenting.
You are defining civil laws with your Bible. There is not problem with that as long as you apply them to yourself and not others.
There is an irony in your post Annie that you may not have picked up on, you used the term 'under age', many feel that it is just as immoral to mary someone beneath the age of 17 or 18 as it is to condone same sex marriage, depending on the circumstances marrying a teenager is not so immoral as two people of the same sex marrying one another (but yes.......there is a such thing as too young).

No, he didn't. Please provide verse where He did.

Pornia, fornication, is all sexual acts except sex between husband and wife, in the missionary positon, only to produce children and not to be enjoyed.

Why singling out homosexuals ?
Far more heterosexual Christian fornicators out there just waiting to be treated like homosexuals.

Ban divorce, execute all fornicators (see above) and impose a death sentence for masturbators.

That'll fix the world.

Sometimes an "effort" isn't an "effort" at all.
I understand why you are here, Mike.

You are a virgin.

Look in the dictionary Ms. Walker.'Teh' is a word, basically a grammatical error.
Here's what Wikipedia has to say:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teh

Teh is an Internet slang neologism most frequently used as an English article, based on a common typographical error of "the". Teh has subsequently developed grammatical usages distinct from the. It is not common in spoken or written English outside technical or leetspeak circles, but when spoken, it is te or...

Also, if you will; can you please find the post(s) and show this entire Topix thread where BLL or myself claimed to be Bible scholars. Can you do that without being evasive?

I'm sure you're going to have difficulty proving that but I would love to see nonetheless. Please past post number and post if possible.

By teh way, I suppose they never told you; it is a good thing for especially a Christian to lie and deceive.
Just making sure you understand.

Except for "3" I agree.
Why should our secular government support the belief in ANY deity ?
What if it said "In Allah We Trust" or "In Brahma...." etc.?
Because the majority of people (still so far) want to keep "In God We Trust"... "One Nation Under God" and "God bless America"... and I forgot to mention the Bibles in the courtrooms or when taking the oath of office.

A very few minority, Atheists, want to snatch that away from the majority.

Today's Prayer
Dear God, Thank you for a new day. I know that everything I am and everything I have is a result of what you have allowed in my life. Sometimes life is very hard; other times it is full of happiness. I know you are always there and your blessing is available...if only I will listen and obey. Please help me to recognize the gifts you send and the doors you open each and every day. Give me wisdom to see and do your will. Thank you for the spiritual gifts you have given, also. I pray that you will use those gifts to work in and through me to minister to the world and draw people to you. In Jesus' name I pray and give you praise. Amen.

The "Church" didn't tell me anything. In my thinking the "church" is a group of Christ followers trying to live their life to the best to their ability. The BIBLE or Gods Word states how he feels (and what he "hates"....I don't follow man (church) I follow God. Even if the church is irradicated I will still Follow God and his ways.
PS....I've never been a real good Follower

I've been talking about all kinds of fornications here lately. I'm just responding to others' posts who single out that particuala topic and gay marriage.

Gays are definitely a minute minority but they sure are taking up a lot of air time. But the majority is hetero and that is why you have more fornicators and everyone who claim Christianity isn't a Christian... mostly their Christian only by tradition of the family. Yet they are still lumped in with all other Christians.

Your two faced and multiple forked tongue hypocrisy knows no bounds Ms. Walker. You only side with this clown Mr. 42 because he's against me but you forget one thing, his utter disdain for your religion, and when I start ignoring him and his lack of proper ambition, he will get bored and turn on you. I see it too often in Topix. It's just a matter of time before you stand up for your religion and say something that offends him, and then he will verbally cleave you like a plump dog in a Chinese meat mart.

Under age rules have been set by the individual states. I might not agree with those ages but it is not up to me to set them. If the legal age to marry is 16 (which I feel personally is too young) then that person has the right to marry.

My personal feelings on what is too young are irrelevant...my own mother married at 16. My parents marriage lasted for almost 40 years until her death...for my dad that marriage lasted for another 15 years until his death.

I also believe that 16 years of age is too young to be driving a car. Because of that both of my children were 18 before I would sign for their license. Other people felt differently...I do not condemn them for that even though I disagree with it...they were within their legal rights.

You have the right to marry who you love? Do gays have that right?

You used the word immoral...whose morals are you basing that on?

<quoted text>Morning Mike... some express hope in terms of doubt... "I hope so" "I hope it will" etc... but the hope spoken of earlier from the scriptures I provided you is a hope that expresses "expectation".
For example, Kind of like some who believe Obama is their Saviour, of sorts. Initially they had "expected" the Prez to do much more than he did in the first term. When they hoped in him... they didn't express doubt... they expected their promises to be fulfilled.
In the same way, that "expectation" type of hope is the kind of hope that faithful Christians have towards God. It is not doubt, it is expectation and we know that our hope (expectations) will be fulfilled. For Believers, that which Who we call The Comforter helps us to develop that expectation kind of hope.
Have a good one... Quin
Thanks Quin

Who you trying to kidd?

For non-believers, what helps them develope hope?

Took a moment to get that.
the word "will" place it as a possible future event based on an "if".
Yeah, not much of an apology in that wording.
This is crazy and what is even crazier is me responding to this...however.

After I posted that...

JL's next post said...

I am too tired to argue about this.(based on memory because I am not going back to find it)

My response to that was...(again based on memory)

Why would we argue about it...I apologized if I misunderstood.

Obviously from my response I felt as if I had apologized and could not see the reasoning behind the need to argue. I chose however to let it go.

So...here goes...

JL...I am sorry if I did not make my apology clear due to the word "will".

I am done with this...if this is not good enough nor does it meet other people's qualifications for an apology...it is not my problem...it is theirs.
