<quoted text>Lol..you may want to re-read the post you replied to. What you are saying is it may be someone's right not to wanna hang out with those who disagree with OSAS but it would be wrong for them to do that!
you lack reading comprehension, whenever you paraphrase someone, you get their meaning wrong. This is either a dishonest debating tactic, or you have a mental problem.

Nothing you claim may be considered so, on your say, because you misinterpret every thing you read.

<quoted text> Hey John, respectfully have a diff take. Yes a lot of exchanges may lack substance at times or even a lot of the time. But just about every regular has shared things dear to their heart. Imho the biggest problem is Topix not being left on Topix. People creating all sorts of identities to get close to someone or spending 20 hrs a day iconning posts or thinking they are changing the world by what they post. I can only imagine how far the same type of person might take an online "relationship" jmo (T) PEACE

My question comes down to the calling an atheist a fundamentalist when it comes to Topix-land. I have personally on occasion considered several atheist’s fundies on here, due to their behavior. If an atheist uses an almost bipolar way of “discussion” when it comes to their own personal point as a fundamentalist ….what should someone consider them to be?
Hostile or bellicose.

Fundamentalism implies a doctrine or agenda, and a literalist manner of interpreting it. How does that apply to atheism? It doesn't.

It's just another way of trying to demean secularism with religious terminology. We're not a religion, we don't have a doctrine, we don't require faith, and we cant be fundamentalist about disbelief.
NoStress4me wrote:
Clarification on my part, you Ians would not be someone that I would consider a fundie. The person that wrote some time ago -“anyone who believes in *anything* without verifiable proof for all to see should be institutionalized for delusions“, I considered to be a fundie.
I don't think that that is the best word for such a person. I think that you want a word to describe his mannerisms more than his beliefs. That's a foolish blowhard.

As an aside, people often call outspoken atheists like me militant, but that is also overstated. If I ever become militant, you'll hear about it on the evening news.

Thanks for your comment.

There you go. Now you're learning.

Weren't you one of the posters calling for more respect for your religion? http://www.topix.com/forum/ncaa/duke-basketba...

Unbelievers already give your church more respect than it ever gave us.

"Pope Blames Atheists for Holocaust, Ignores Catholic Complicity"
http://atheism.about.com/b/2010/09/21/pope-bl...

How could anything any of us here on Topix post ever compare to that pronouncement by a man with that much influence or so large an audience? You have no reason to expect respect.

So, when you express yourself, they are opinions that you are entitled to express as you see fit, but the other guy has the choice to either accept your opinion or cry about it? Is that what you just posted?

Would that be the gelatin tablet we call supositories? You should never give those to your poor old mother. The pigs don't eat them either, but I guess both ways would end in the same result. Poop on grass. Got it teacher! Thanks for your funny story.
It's always edifying to spend a few moments in the Shrinkmeister¿s head. I'm still traumatized from thinking about why his women need so many showers.
