I do, but that's not what I said.

My issue is that, while Doctor REALITY continues to evade answering my assertions that, as I believe, refutes what he's declared to be evidence that shuts "us" up, he also continues to tell others that they're going to be judged and what-not. I don't think that's fair, at all. But, things will be what they'll be.

.. it's relatively easy to list all the corruption in organized religion and I don't think anyone would argue that it existed and still exists. The influence and power of organized religion must be limited, subjugated, because it pushes guilt, shame, fire and brimstone, the very opposite of freedom ..
.. you may say, "I don't agree with that philosophy, I'm not that type of Christian," but you silently agree to sustain a power structure that encourages atrocities and human misery by endorsing and advocating a belief system rife with hypocrisy. That makes you complicit ..
.. please don't think I'm targeting Christianity. There are bigots, hypocrites and power hungry clerics in all branches of religion including Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, even Buddhism. For me, belief or non-belief should always be a private matter ..
.. the very destructive nature of organized religion must be addressed or mankind will unconsciously stroll down a well-trodden historical path of war, poverty and human misery. That is AIN's, and my, contention ..
I appreciate the fact that you replied to even a challenging post to someone else in a respectful and thought-out manner. I hope this is a sign of future talks to comes. Let me say I understand to a degree what you are saying and while you aren't saying it only exists within the church there is no question some of these ideas if not generating there have grown within

However I disagree strongly that simply being a member makes on complicit. In what way? Does simply being an American make someone complicit when others exercise their first amendment rights? The organization itself does not teach anything you have an issue with for the most part. They recognize homosexuality as a sin. That is their only official position. Anything else comes from individuals exercising their rights from behind the pulpit. And people who disagree are not complicit. And more and more they express their own opinions or maybe they change churches or whatever. But nobody is responsible for what someone else does under the law. That is just how it goes.

I understand it is tempting to blame the whole group, innocent and guilty alike because the innocent haven't been able to stop it but there is no way to stop people from speaking their mind. And most people aren't going to walk away from prayer and fellowship and worship because say 1 out of their 3 priests has some ideas they don't agree with nor should they. Should you have to give up anything because Americans can use their right to speech to say things you don't agree with or else you would be considered complicit? What if the only gas station within miles of your house has an employee who personally doesn't like anyone gay. Do you screw yourself by not going there even though the owner never put him up to it? And if so do you find out what everybody believes for every place you go to? People are going to think what they want. Most the time you dismiss them as idiots and move on unless you feel they are doing real damage. Either way It doesn't make you complicit.

Interesting

Whatever could have caused IANS to jump to such an erroneous conclusion?

After all, he just wants your church to have volunteers. Yet now it seems without any facts he blamed your church for how you think. I guess he is the only one who can think for himself in his mind.

No need to respond to this post brother. I know you are trying to get a dialogue going. I simply used it for my own reasons.

I agree entirely with this sentiment. And often here people make the distinction between fundies and ordinary Christians. Personally I cannot see the benefit in bursting the bubble of ordinary Christians. To me I think it can be harsh to say to people "what you believe is rubbish" when they may be getting consolation during loss of a loved one, or comfort during a difficult time in their life. However the wingnut fundie "God hates gays" evilution types are fair game imo.
I would imagine there are those within the faith who have no use for that sort of stuff at all either. Many simply are trying to live their lives the best they can with the beliefs to guide them. Wherever they succeed or fail is on each individual but their goals normally are decent ones and so are their hearts and minds.

I saw a saying the other day that said "never judge a man by the worst day of his life or the best"

That saying could also easily say never judge an organization by its worst members or its best

At least you are back to being somewhat honest again. I am sure if I asked why you blame his church and not simply someone that may have influenced him within the church or how do you know he got any of these ideas from his church you would be back to saying what you meant by you blame his church is simply you want it to be run by volunteers!
Skomboli 'disease' is the one where you can't help but to call people on it when they aren't honest. Personally I think it is a good thing to have. You probably would see anything to do with honesty as an infection
Hi Skom :) if that's what Skomboli 'disease' is then I'm glad to have it. That part of his post is not what I referred to as insults btw.

Have a good one! BTW, I don't want to get into an argument with anyone concerning my views on various points of sexuality... I'm just giving my views and beliefs concerning God's unshakable Word even though the whole world runs contrary to it.

Jesus is merciful... Praise the Lord... He also told the woman caught in the act of adultery to go and sin no more. Take care...

That word fornications "porneia" in the greek is where we get our word porn from. Porneia refers to unmarried hetero sex, homosexuality, bestiality and any other type of forno.
Btw, this is another subject but Jesus "did" speak on sexuality. We recognize the obvious but don't recognize the other points of perverseness because of language conflict.
Here is the original meaning of the word in the below link. I understand that everyone has their own freedoms... and most usually choose that which is popular and is a fad... but until the Word of God changes I will not be seduced into thinking otherwise. I will not be turned out into thinking that sex other than married sex is not sinful, in other words.
I don't necessarily care what non-Christians do regarding their views on sex because they don't know or adhere to Christ but will have to stand before the judgement of Christ anyways. And yes, as the scriptures say... we are the salt of the earth and I will continue to vote against the new mainstream of lukewarm Christians on this subject and the rest of the world against current issues such as homosexual marriage as long as is my right and/or ability. Those are simply my views.
http://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/l...
There can not be lukewarm Christians, Revelation 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art cold or hot:I would thou wert cold or hot. 16) So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

He was not saying this to the sinners, he was saying it to the churches/Christians.

Your mistake Sir: You should care about Nonbelievers, God, is no respecter of persons. God loves everyone in this world. He has a plan for us all, not just you. Many Nonbelievers don't believe because of your attitude. DON'T CARE! Come on.....there are many other sins out there than just porn....That might be "your" problem, but it doesn't mean others might have a problem with it.......Read your Bible, you will find that God loves everyone, he wants noone to go to hell. NOONE! By you NOT CARING. You might want to reconsider learning God's word a little better. Love is the greatest gift of all......You might want to research that.
