We may be getting some wintry mess this way tomorrow. I don't particularly care for wintry messes. People around here go stark crazy. But it's supposed to warm up into the 50's on Saturday. Then people will be out in shorts.
I live right here in the midlands too, so I know how crazy the weather down here can be.

<quoted text>But don't the authorities punish us for not wearing a seatbelt. I guess what I'm trying to say, isn't there reason for passing the seatbelt law based on moral grounds? Whether it is for the driver, passenger and children?
Using that argument on love... I guess that could be also used to condone the teacher who left her marriage and 4 kids and fell in love her student. Now I understand that you're not condoning pedophelia at all here... I'm just sayin' that even though a person may love somebody or attracted to somebody does not mean that a moral high-ground isn't in existence. Like, if you get married to another female. You expect her to remain faithful to you and not cheat on your vows right? What if she came home and said she loved someone else. I would say that even in this case there is a moral high-ground.
I guess my point is, there is a moral high-ground and that perhaps we shouldn't always act on our feelings of another person. Self-discipline would be needed, right?
.. personal morals are subjective, the morals of society are cultural ..

PERSONAL MORALS

.. everyone has a different foundation on which they build their moral codes. Some people are vegetarians and think it immoral to eat a sentient being ..

SOCIETY MORALS

.. a century ago, killing tigers in India and Africa was considered honorable, necessary. Today, we have tiger wildlife reserves and criminal laws banning the practice ..

LAWS

.. laws evolve to protect society and advance the general welfare. Hence, we have mandatory seat belt laws in some states ..

<quoted text>I believe they should of held on to Julius Peppers... the owner let a lot of the older players go which means he let a lot of the wisdom go and hired much younger, out-of-college players at a cheaper rate. So anyways, they paid dearly for it as their previous record showed. Wisdom is mightier than strength. Then they let John Fox go but I think he was ready to leave (now coaching the Bronco's).
I'll say that Julius Peppers proved that he still have a lot left in him, I also believe that they depended too much on the combo of Cam Newton and Steve Smith, a young super QB rejuvenating an aging WR. But they're still interesting to watch.

I have had a blue-and-gold macaw (which I named Vincent for VINCENT), and three amazons, one of them an endangered species; the other two with extensive vocabularies. I had the three for over 35 years, then all three died within about 18 months. All three are buried in my back yard. It was very, very painful.(Their names were Goliath, Breadfruit and Chula.)
Bonsoir mon ami, I am sorry for your losses. Losing any pet and companion is painful.

Hmmmmm... you know what Christian Brothers and Sisters? This testimony by ex-homosexual Carl Wright has pretty much convinced me that some people are born gay. He's not coming from a science perspective but a scriptural one which I must have overlooked 10 dozen times.

But in this truly inspirational testimony... Carl talks about how he was molested at a young age (which I think is also common among gays... I could be wrong in that assessment)... but how he had gay desires before the molestation even began.

Like the other testimonies, he says that it is a struggle and he fell in love for the first time in his life with a person of the same sex and begged God to keep him, basically. So anyways, he also talks about discipline and what led him to finally strengthen himself in the Lord and to depart this particular sin.

So... anyways, he has convinced me from a scriptural standpoint that a person can be born gay and gives the scripture. His testimony is 16 minutes long so just letting you know in case you don't have that much time spend on this.

"Some call Me Allah, Yahweh, Jehovah
I can start a beginnin', or endin', it's over
On Earth's first day alive there was darkness
Shape was worthless, I gave this small planet purpose
Breathed life into the surface
And created every beast in the sea
Feast eyes on the Son of God for thou souls to free
Since the Garden of Eden, I told men believe in
Thou Lord, and never worship falseships and act accord
But always, serpents slither across floors
Everything that is, always has been, always will be
A chill in your bones is how you feel me
At the end, when the moon turns blood and the sun blackens
Great men of the world running wonder what's happenin'
The sky'll part
And where I once said "Let there be light," I'll say "Let there be dark"
After the lamb's spoken, last seal's broken
Trumpets sound, last men on Earth found chokin'
For these events not to take place, you're hopin'
Balls of energy fly from my hands explodin'
Explain"

LOL

I know...I know...There is a message in there somewhere amongst all that rap!

Do you think Jesus gets upset by what name one chooses to call him?

Would he be angry if someone said..."Hey Bud...I need to talk to you"?

Okay...reminds me of that song...

You've Got a Friend
by Carole King as performed by James Taylor

When you're down and troubled
and you need a helping hand
and nothing, whoa nothing is going right.
Close your eyes and think of me
and soon I will be there
to brighten up even your darkest nights.

You just call out my name,
and you know wherever I am
I'll come running, oh yeah baby
to see you again.
Winter, spring, summer, or fall,
all you have to do is call
and I'll be there, yeah, yeah, yeah.
You've got a friend.

If the sky above you
should turn dark and full of clouds
and that old north wind should begin to blow
Keep your head together and call my name out loud
and soon I will be knocking upon your door.

You just call out my name and you know wherever I am
I'll come running to see you again.
Winter, spring, summer or fall
all you got to do is call
and I'll be there, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Hey, ain't it good to know that you've got a friend?
People can be so cold.
They'll hurt you and desert you.
Well they'll take your soul if you let them.
Oh yeah, but don't you let them.

You just call out my name and you know wherever I am
I'll come running to see you again.
Oh babe, don't you know that,
Winter spring summer or fall,
Hey now, all you've got to do is call.
Lord, I'll be there, yes I will.
You've got a friend.
You've got a friend.
Ain't it good to know you've got a friend.
Ain't it good to know you've got a friend.

You've got a friend.

You all made that up. I fear no one and that includes the ape people and homosexuals too. Although I admit that clowns and mimes are kinda creepty and could well be aliens, but that's another topic.
<quoted text>
You never answered my question; who is Jesus?
If I never had a religion of a faith, I would still think the unnatural and deviant act of homosexuality is wrong. What makes you think that would have been any different. I think the Muslims probably hate homosexuality way more than Christianity and Judaism.
Hence, I fail to see your weak point. Try again.
<quoted text>
What treatment? Him, you're welcome to the soup kitchen both gays and straights though I believe the stain of homosexuality is a perverted and wicked act. Has nothing to do with caring for prople. I would pull a KKK member out of a burning house and I would still fish the gay from the drink if he were drowning. You're trying to deflect and detour the point and change the argument from non-acceptance of homosexuality to hate for sinful people. You make it seem as if there's a different hell for the gay, the murderer and the rapist.
Your argument is falling apart.
<quoted text>
What church is that? Identify please. Oppose all you want, what will that do? The people of the Most High Yahweh will not bend, bow or approve evil.
<quoted text>
Rubbish. Look at two men swinging dingers for each other as disgusting. that's what's nasty. Something must be off in your brain to think that looks ok. You really must be a descendant of an ancient Roman.
<quoted text>
And I don't care about your weak pathetic excuse for an opinion. How about that? Happy now.
Love is not perverted, it is pure and righteous. If love is perverted, it is anything but Love. It can be lust, obsession or infatuation. Love is not destruction and confusion, and it doesn't stain the Law.
....Get that into your thick scull feller.
Andrew (CS).
Still no rationale for why homosexuality is wrong. Al of of lather, but no rationale.

That's OK CS. Truth is, there IS no rationale. You will never come up with any. All that is ever trotted out is "it's bad because I say so" or "it's bad because this book says so". No one ever get's any further with it than that.

Know why? Because it's bigotry. And bigotry is based in ignorance, not reason.

Hi Catcher,
My Macaw is Blue/Gold also. I love my Tiko..She was given to me because the previous owners quit paying her any attention and put her in their downstairs den. She only seen people when they would go down to feed her. She knew what an animal lover that I am and how I treat all my animals like my babies. I work for a Vet, so she just let me have her. I had to tame her again but she finally came around and will now get on my arm and she loves to dance to music. She loves to talk now and I am trying to teach her new words. Her cage is right next to my computer desk since thats where I spend most of my time after I get home from work. What happened to Vincent? And I give up..WHO was he named after? LOL Thanks for sharing this with me.:)

That's something I have to give them, they are very inclusive in regard to race , even those of a different denomination they are inviting. They have a shortwave station on site , never listened to it but have made me curious. My wife works with a (female) member , very matter-of-fact and down to earth.
You know, back in the day when I first became a true Christian (for others: I don't mean true Christian in the braggadocio sense... By that I mean genuinely accepted Christ outside of family or cultural relation)... but back in the day I probaly would never had questioned it... I would of gone in and would probaly be bearded down myself.
