Makes one wonder why Jesus let's such people speak for him.
I'm guessing that it's the same reason that he allows us free will, won't show himself, permits blasphemy, and allows his church splinter, bicker, melt away. It's all part of his plan.

Excellent post. The Bible never mentions anal or oral sex between man and woman so the whole arguement is idiotic. The only thing the Bible says is that male momosexuality is and "abomination" (whatevr the fuck that is) and NOT a "sin". Note that it specifically does NOT address lesbianism, prostitution (other than pagan temple prostitutes) or pedophilia. Must have been written by men or God is a 'pervert'.
Of course NOT being in the Bible has never stopped Christianity from claiming it is "in the Bible".
You might like this from Dan Barker:

“The next time believers tell you that "separation of church and state" does not appear in our founding document, tell them to stop using the word "trinity." The word "trinity" appears nowhere in the bible. Neither does Rapture, or Second Coming, or Original Sin. If they are still unfazed (or unphrased) by this, then add Omniscience, Omnipresence, Supernatural, Transcendence, Afterlife, Deity, Divinity, Theology, Monotheism, Missionary, Immaculate Conception, Christmas, Christianity, Evangelical, Fundamentalist, Methodist, Catholic, Pope, Cardinal, Catechism, Purgatory, Penance, Transubstantiation, Excommunication, Dogma, Chastity, Unpardonable Sin, Infallibility, Inerrancy, Incarnation, Epiphany, Sermon, Eucharist, the Lord's Prayer, Good Friday, Doubting Thomas, Advent, Sunday School, Dead Sea, Golden Rule, Moral, Morality, Ethics, Patriotism, Education, Atheism, Apostasy, Conservative (Liberal is in), Capital Punishment, Monogamy, Abortion, Pornography, Homosexual, Lesbian, Fairness, Logic, Republic, Democracy, Capitalism, Funeral, Decalogue, or Bible.”

Prophecy is not just a prediction of what will happen, it is a warning to change your ways.
Biblical prophecy isn't of sufficiently high enough quality to take seriously. No biblical prophecy has ever allowed man to anticipate any event in history in any useful way. None of it qualifies as quality prophecy, which criteria I can provide if you'd like. Quality prophecy must meet the following criteria :

[1] It needs to be specific - that is, detailed and unambiguous. The highest quality prophecy specifies the time and place.

[2] It needs to prophesy something surprising, something unlikely or unique, something that could not have been contrived, and that was not self-fulfilling.

[3] The prophecies need to be verified, fulfilled completely, predict something that definitely occurred subsequently, and waere unaccompanied by failed prophecies.

[4] As is true for the scientists, high quality scientific knowledge in holy books that was not available at the time the books were written would count as prophecy. The knowledge must be detailed and be about something counterintuitive like relativity or quantum mechanics - not merely mentioning in the broad, vague strokes things that can in retrospect be imagined to hint at atoms, a big bang, heliocentrism or evolution. And example would be,“My disciples, I say unto thee that energy is mass times the speed of light multiplied unto itself.”

You have nothing like that.

==========

Now scientific prophecy - there's something to behold. Did you see this earlier:

The revelations of science keep embarrassing the church. And the prophecies of science do the same. They far outshine biblical prophecy. How about that Higgs boson? Does your bible have any predictions like that to compare? The priests of science prophesied that we would find a particular subatomic particle with specific properties at a certain energy if they ever built a machine to look. This object was only deduced - imagined - never before seen. And bingo.

Did you celebrate that when it happened? I was so proud to be a human being! We are marvelous apes.

Too bad if your church robbed you of the pleasure of knowing that - of knowing that you belong to such a magnificent species. What a shame if they convinced you that you were failed, damaged goods, and that you missed that experience. Really.

Think about the godlike implications of that. Your book offers its ability to prophesy as evidence of its divine origin. Yet scientific prophecy dwarfs biblical prophecy. Do you know about Eddington and Einstein? Same thing. Some people contemplated and divined what must be essential elements of reality - and they were right! That's godlike.

Don't talk about science. You cute ladies have no clue. And remember what Counter_Strike told you: The man is the head, the women provide tail. What a hoot. The worst thing though is that the jerk takes himself (and his god who's not a god) seriously. Fortunately, there aren't too many of these throwbacks.
You have me guffawing.

What's up with Counter_Strike's mysterious god that's not a god whose name isn't whatever you or I just called him. He may be worshiping the formless and featureless Crickian god, Ol' Wispy Miasma.

LOL. You're a gem.

Warning about using that phrase, though. It has sexual connotations, which is why I worded it that way. I thought it might give Wilderide a chuckle.

Warning: This may embarrass you [words, not pictures]:

Today's Prayer

God, thank you for all you do and all you have given and continue to give. Please help me to have a servant spirit and to be a faithful steward of all you have entrusted to me. I pray that you would give me grace today to walk through the tests ahead victoriously--that I may prove a faithful servant and a godly witness. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Thanks for sharing that about DoC and his family..
You are sweet, Epi..
There's a couple steps to the game, after you peg your points against your opponent, you count your hand-- "runs", pairs,
3 of a kind
and multiples of 15..and there is always a cut card, you want that
card to work to your counting hands advantage..
That's why, like 6696- I guess a 6 or 9 cut card would be best.
--more multiples of 15 mean more points on board!
First one around the cribbage board wins.
We play mostly Rummy 500 now a days..
Yes, still have the three "fellas"..
:)
How is your weather today??
Oh...I see...I'd have to play a little to pick it up....

Lets see it was warm last week...but we have a cold front of "high of 40 something"....Here in SC the sun is out almost every day so it can get very nice during the day. My son lives n Ohio and it is brutal cold up there (Plus there was a traffice back up on a major Lake county Highway) that had people stranded for 6 hours. Driving up there can be treacherous.

Next week it wll be back up to 70 I think....Have a good one Le-Le

PS...Keep Judy in prayer today will be Joshuas 13th year in Heaven
