<quoted text> That's odd, when I see you promoting things like the Holy Ghost being "God's wife" and questioning the authenticness of the Bible it too reminds me of Gary and Dave, I holy make reference to certain men of God to illustrate a point not an attempt to give them equality with God himself, I'm sure that you know better ( at least I hope you do ) these men again that I make refetence have taugbt strictly 100% from the Word of God and the Word only, we worship the Lord and saviour Jesus Christ and anything that they are on record as having taught can be confirmed and backed undeniably by the Holy Scriptures, can you say the same bro?
It may sound a little harsh to say this to you but I'll like to believe that I am doing it for your own good but Gary and Dave follow the rhetoric of Harold Camping who thought he could predict tbe rapture and the end of the wherein the Word lets us know that only the father know this information, and so being so able to be beguiled tbrough weakness they fell in error, but you seem to have gone over tbe edge by your own mechanations and have strayed from the knowledge of truth and are honestly in no better state spiritually than they are I regret to say.
I see nothing will ever change with you fundies. Always arrogantly condemning others to make yourselves feel "superior". Even if it means attacking other Christians just because they have slightly different beliefs than you do.

Fact is your lies are no more valid than any other Christian's lies.

And you have no "spiritual state", for you don't know the first thing about anything truly spiritual.

<quoted text>If it was written originally in our native language, English, then I would wholeheartedly agree with you. But because you are only skimming the surface... you're not getting the true meaning of that phrase from it's original which Greek or Aramaic. Please keep in mind dear one that English is a very new language in comparison to Greek, Aramaic and Hebrew which are older languages. So that being the case, it doesn't always translate well and they had to come as close as possible.
But though I am chided, some aren't able to see Who Jesus was praying or talking to when it is clearly in front of them. He was talking to His Father in heaven. Read it again.
Jesus: "My God, my God, why have you forsaken Me?"
Jesus: "You heard me say,'I am going away and I am coming back to you.' If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.
Jesus: "Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world."
Think about it.
Again you prove my point with this post that your real trust is in linguistic translations more so than God's Holy Word, not having the faith to believe that God got it to us just as he intend for it to read, again the flesh always gave all benevolence to the spirit and perhaps you have misunderstood me some time back that I have never said that the FLESH was the father but the spirit within which is why he spoke both as God and man, he said things in the Word that let us know that he was son and said things that let us know that he was the father as well, and he is now again the Word that is in heaven and not the son currently and that whifh WAS son is whom that will return to rapture the church and later set his kingdomup upon the earth.

<quoted text>I'm sorry that you were so easily offended... but it is a good thing that I don't have to answer to you about everything. But since you didn't get it the first time I'll try it again. Arabic Christians call God Allah also. Why? Because that is what God means in their language. My point to the whole thing is that there are a lot of prejudices against Muslims when really it is the muslim extremists that are casting a bad shadow over their beliefs. I was trying to defend against prejudicial posts as they seemed to be directe to all muslims in general. But never the less, I learned a couple of things about Jesus in the Qu'ran in the process. That doesn't mean that I'm muslim. Praise Allah.
Not believing in all of the Gods Word as being authentic in regards to all of it having been inspired by his spirit is not believing in God at all as he IS his Word and that is NOT faith, so that fails as well.

As for Islam it has been proven that it has it's roots in bloodshed and violence, I don't deny that there are muslims in this country and some part of the world that strive to live a peaceful and non violent life but salvation and the truth of who God really is is IN Christ Jesus only and not in any other name, you have said that you have learned some things in the koran about Jesus that you didn't know before, care to share what the koran taught you about the Lord that the Bible didn't?

<quoted text>I'm sure your Pastors are nice men... I think you said that you were Apostolic... if not then please forgive me. But I used to go to an Apostolic church back in the 90s and I believe my Aunt was Apostolic and I used to go with her when was a child, perhaps a different sect, but I have a little bit of understanding of what that doctrine entails. The Word is preached sure enough as it is in most churches. The church I went to had a pretty cult-like atmosphere when I look back on it. Those are the ones who said that if one doesn't speak in tongues then one isn't saved.
I remember I used to see people go to the altar, genuinely, to ask for Salvation... and see the people at front try and make the other people speak in tongues... "say this, do this"... well, when some didn't speak in tongues like they wanted... they would just shake their head and tell them that they didn't have enough "faith". And the people who had come up to get saved would walk back to their seats with their heads hung down as if they did something wrong. I couldn't be a part of that. It was a controlling atmosphere also... I don't mean like Rose Mary's Baby or anything... but a lot of holier-than-thou attitudes. Just my experiences with it.
I do understand the points you are trying to make here, but let us take the focus off of "my pastors" as that was NEVER the intention here in the very least, there are many old wrong and outdated practices going on and have been going on for some decades now in holiness churches, but we have never been taught to practice such things in services and it has been preached against trying to FORCE tougues into someone while tarrying for the Holy Ghost, when you speak with tongues you won't really be able to control it yourself it will just push it self through and it is a wonderful feeling to experience, now when you say that they tell people that they aren't saved unless they speak with other tongues..........the bible teaches that initial evidence of one receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost is to speak with tongues as documented throughout the book of acts, however to speak with other tongues on a regular as in prayer is really a gift of the spirit and I don't believe that all born agains have the exact same gifts as the other.

Weariness
"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.(Matthew 11:28-29)
*
If you find that Christianity exhausts you, draining you of your energy, then you are practicing religion rather than enjoying a relationship. Jesus said that a relationship with Him would bring rest to your soul. Your walk with the Lord will not make you weary; it will invigorate you, restore your strength, and energize your life.
*
Hard work or lack of sleep can make you tired. This fatigue can usually be remedied by a good rest. But there is a deeper fatigue that goes beyond physical tiredness. There is an emotional exhaustion that comes from experiencing heavy burdens and draining crises. There is a tiredness deep within your soul that comes from carrying the weight of the needs of others. You can go on a vacation, but your soul will not be restored. This condition can only be rectified by finding rest in Christ.
*
Some zealous Christians want to do all they can to serve Christ, and they exhaust themselves in the process. It was to these that Jesus extended His invitation to go to Him and learn from Him. Jesus spent most of His earthly ministry surrounded by needy multitudes. He faced relentless opposition, He often prayed throughout the night, and He rarely had any privacy, yet He always received the rest and strength that came from His Father. It was not that Jesus did not work hard but that He knew the path to spiritual rest. Are you weary? Go to Jesus and let Him give you His rest. His rest will restore your soul as nothing else can.
I hope some will take time to read this not once but twice -- so worthy -- TLC OSG/Judy

Good to see you posting Judy....I know what you mean about always remembering the day a parent has passed. My Mother passed July 26th 2002....My prayers are with you as you went through yesterday. AJ was a real sweetheart wasn't he? He always was thinking of others....About a week ago his Mom said "AJ...its alright if you want to go to Jesus...You can go. He said then "Not yet Momma"...I guess November 29th 2012 was the right time. He had thousands of "Friends of AJ" because of the Internet.
Hae a Blessed day today Friend
Thank you Epi for the warm welcome back here - when the Lord layed the ministry upon your heart for your daily postings I'll bet you never dreamed what an inspiration and daily encouragement that it would end up being to so many -- but it has especially mine.

And when Deb first brought little AJ to all us thru the internet just look at all the Glory to the Lord that little guy brought.

I too am thankful for all the Lord has brought to me after the loss of my own Joshua that I've been able to share in hopes of touching hearts for Gods Glory.

Speaking of Jokes its been a while since I left a joke....
At the conclusion of the sermon, the worshipers filed out of the sanctuary to greet the minister. As one of them left, he shook the minister's hand, thanked him for the sermon and said, "Thanks for the message, Reverend. You know, you must be smarter than Einstein." Beaming with pride, the minister said, "Why, thank you, brother!"
As the week went by, the minister began to think about the man's compliment. The more he thought, the more he became baffled as to why anyone would deem him smarter than Einstein. So he decided to ask the man the following Sunday.
The next Sunday he asked the parishioner if he remembered the previous Sunday's comment about the sermon. The parishioner replied that he did. The minister asked: "Exactly what did you mean that I must be smarter than Einstein?"
The man replied, "Well, Reverend, they say that Einstein was so smart that only ten people in the entire world could understand him. But Reverend, no one can understand you."
Have a great day everyone
I wonder if the pastor comprehended it LOL

I am finally coming back to this...I will finish my thoughts on faith...I just have to wait for those words to come.
Thank you Judy. I love to write...I love when I am inspired to.
To be quite honest with you...I can not write my way out of a paper bag when there is no inspiration...no words come.
This might sound strange coming from such a little heathen as myself but..
I was at a point in my life just a few years ago where I felt as if one more thing happened that I would not survive. Then that next thing happened...
All I could do was ask God...how many more lessons do I have to learn. The answer I got back was...when are you going to start using the lessons that you have already been given.
I had no idea how I would do that...I will say however...it was when I started writing. It is when I learned to share what was in my heart with others...to not be afraid to open myself up to being vulnerable.
I know...as I write this...that there will be those that doubt that conversation with God that day...why would God talk to such a sinner.
All I can say is it does not matter that others do not understand...I just know that it changed my life.
So...my writing ability only goes as far as those lessons that I have learned.
When I look back over the years after my husbands death...I was given so many opportunities to allow others to talk to me about their experiences. I kept running in to people...some complete strangers...that just wanted to talk to someone that understood. I felt as if it was a way that I could turn something so horrible in to something that good could come from...letting people tell me their stories.
One day however...I was worn out...I just needed a break. As I walked out of a store a stranger came up to me...said something to me that led to me telling her that my husband had passed. She assumed that it was from an illness and I just didn't want to get in to that conversation so I just let her think it.
By the time that I got to my car I felt such guilt...as if I owed this total stranger the truth. All I could think of was...what if she needed someone to talk to. I vowed then to never let that happen again.
Funny...I got in to this conversation today...yes with a complete stranger. He was going through some things and somehow we got in to a long conversations. He had been through a lot as a child and now as a forty-five year old man he is finally coming to terms with some things.
What I told him is that I would not wish to experience the things that I have in life but I am grateful for the lessons that it all has taught me.
Glad you are healthy enough to be back with us again...even though I am not here that often any more.
My mother once told me writing is the best therapy -- you have a gift Annie and for what you decide to share here has often touched my heart. So I personally thank you for just being you, I do let God Be,because I know He works thru everything His way. TLC - Judy
