Many times, when someone is killed, christians are heard to say, "this will bring others closer to god." Well, wouldn't my knees being healed do the same thing?
Absolutely.

Remember, we know nothing of you or your knees.

Yet you expect us to prove ourselves to you

Ours is not to prove, ours is to witness His testimony.

You are not trying to convert you! You already believe, so doing a miracle for you would be useless. But if I woke up one morning and your god healed my knees; then I would be on here witnessing with you.

why do countless children die of starvation because of mans in humanisty to man..
what is really the remedy for illness starvation etc
THERE IS ONLY ONE REMEDY ALL other are hardly even tempory fixes .
the only real remedy is knowing Jesus has WON God the fathers forgivness for our sins .. and its not just head knowledge its heart knowledge .
what is heart knowledge ?
if your a parent and have children your head may say you should love them your heart should say that you do love them..
how do you know when your heart says you do love them ?
good parents find this out the first time their little child gets sick and they get concerned very concerned because they love them not just because their head says to love them but because their heart says so ..
if a human looses a loved one that they really truly love
the discription can only be said that their heart trul actualy ackes
Can you not answer my simple question?

Think of all the things that you do not believe in; Santa, Tooth Fairy, unicorns, and the like; are you part of a religious group for each of the things which you do not believe in?

Memorial of Saint Clare, virgin

Jos 3:7-10a, 11, 13-17

The LORD said to Joshua,
"Today I will begin to exalt you in the sight of all Israel,
that they may know I am with you, as I was with Moses.
Now command the priests carrying the ark of the covenant
to come to a halt in the Jordan
when you reach the edge of the waters."

So Joshua said to the children of Israel,
"Come here and listen to the words of the LORD, your God.
This is how you will know that there is a living God in your midst,
who at your approach will dispossess the Canaanites.
The ark of the covenant of the LORD of the whole earth
will precede you into the Jordan.
When the soles of the feet of the priests carrying the ark of the LORD,
the Lord of the whole earth,
touch the water of the Jordan, it will cease to flow;
for the water flowing down from upstream will halt in a solid bank."

The people struck their tents to cross the Jordan,
with the priests carrying the ark of the covenant ahead of them.
No sooner had these priestly bearers of the ark
waded into the waters at the edge of the Jordan,
which overflows all its banks
during the entire season of the harvest,
than the waters flowing from upstream halted,
backing up in a solid mass for a very great distance indeed,
from Adam, a city in the direction of Zarethan;
while those flowing downstream toward the Salt Sea of the Arabah
disappeared entirely.
Thus the people crossed over opposite Jericho.
While all Israel crossed over on dry ground,
the priests carrying the ark of the covenant of the LORD
remained motionless on dry ground in the bed of the Jordan
until the whole nation had completed the passage.
>>>>>>> >>>>> + <<<<<<< <<<<<

“All Israel crossed over on dry ground.”(Joshua 3:17)

Imagine you’re about to cross the river Jordan.
You take one very careful and delicate step into the riverbed.
Now two steps. Now three.
The ominous looking gush of water is still being held at bay, and you’re still dry!
Ahead of you are the priests with the Ark of the Covenant— and they’re still dry!
Your nerves gradually uncoil, and you marvel as you walk farther into the now exposed riverbed.

Today’s reading tells us that in order to get across the Jordan and into the Promised Land, the Hebrews had to pass beside the Ark of the Covenant, which was stationed right in the middle of the riverbed.
The Ark was the sign of God’s presence.
It was a reminder of God’s promises to their nation. So crossing the river, even taking the first step, was an act of faith in God’s covenant. Any personal, inner doubts about whether God really could be trusted had to be brought to the surface and dealt with if they wanted to enter the Promised Land.
Would the waters hold?
Or will God forget and let me drown?

What a fitting image for the call to faith!
To use Paul’s words, as long as we are “at home in the body” we are away from our Promised Land of heaven (2 Corinthians 5:6).
As long as we keep our eyes fixed on this world and not his faithfulness, we risk being drowned in the anxieties and temptations of this life.

Life can feel like a wilderness sometimes!
But we have an ever present reminder of the faithfulness and loving care of God—Jesus himself. When we sense God calling us to step out into the Jordan River of faith, we just have to look to Jesus, the source of our strength. Our inner doubts and fears may surface, but as we let Jesus calm them in prayer, we’ll find the courage to take a few careful steps in the direction he’s leading. Our faith in him, combined with his faithfulness to us, will see us through.
The world doesn’t have to swallow us up!

Keep looking to Jesus and you can cross any river—no matter how fiercely it rages!

A Place in God’s Family
I found it when I learned to forgive.
By: Grace*
(*At the author’s request, a pseudonym has been used.)

A real family—I had one once, in my early childhood. Then for reasons that I was too young to understand, my parents went their separate ways.

My mother tried to raise me and my three brothers on her own, but she was mentally unstable and we wandered the city streets with her day and night. I always thought we were lost because we were forever walking and walking!

Sometimes my mother did strange things—she might peel an orange, give us the rind, and throw away the fruit. But often we had no food, and one place we lived in had no furniture. We slept on newspapers, and my brothers and I often played with pictures we cut out, especially pictures of refrigerators filled with food.

Alone and Abandoned?
One day my mother threatened to kill us if the police refused to take us......

Your comments remind me of Proverbs 1, where it speaks of what is written in the holy scriptures.

"That people may know wisdom and discipline,
may understand intelligent sayings;
May receive instruction in wise conduct, in what is right, just and fair;
That resourcefulness may be imparted to the naive, knowledge and discretion to the young.

The wise by hearing them will advance in learning, the intelligent will gain sound guidance,
To comprehend proverb and byword,
the words of the wise and their riddles.

Fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge;
fools despise wisdom and discipline.

Wisdom cries aloud in the street,
in the open squares she raises her voice;
Down the crowded ways she calls out,
at the city gates she utters her words:

“How long, you naive ones, will you love naivete,
How long will you turn away at my reproof?

The arrogant delight in their arrogance,
and fools hate knowledge.

Lo! I will pour out to you my spirit,
I will acquaint you with my words:

'Because I called and you refused,
extended my hand and no one took notice;
Because you disdained all my counsel,
and my reproof you ignored—

I, in my turn, will laugh at your doom;
will mock when terror overtakes you;

When terror comes upon you like a storm,
and your doom approaches like a whirlwind;
when distress and anguish befall you.’

Then they will call me, but I will not answer;
they will seek me, but will not find me,

Because they hated knowledge,
and the fear of the LORD they did not choose.

They ignored my counsel,
they spurned all my reproof;

Well, then, they shall eat the fruit of their own way,
and with their own devices be glutted.

For the straying of the naive kills them,
the smugness of fools destroys them.

Hi Robert - a couple of questions for you.

a. Why do you think what you have is not a forgery that Paul, himself, said were circulating?
b. Why do you think a 3rd generation disciple was accurate?
c. Do you think the authors of the Bible were the only people ever to be inpsired by "God"?
d. Do you believe in all of Jesus' teachings?

In my experience, "christians" do not answer questions for which their leaders have not given them the answers.

Idi O Syncrasy can only copy & paste and insult. Interestingly enough, he is so brilliant that he can insult, but not brilliant enough to answer questions.

Robert, hinamanu can side step a question or a challenge with catlike reflexes!

chooselife can only copy & paste or make-up simple prayers. Interestingly, he also cannot follow Jesus' simple instructions to receive the desired answer to his/her prayers.

All in all, christian have shown me that they don't believe anymore than I do. They know little about the christian bible and how it came about. They don't read it, except for the parts pushed by their preachers.

Christian refuse to pray for anything which quantified by all. They claim that non-believers would still not believe. Then why did god and Jesus preform all those miracles if non-believers could not and would not be converted? That's right; they wouldn't.

PoorBlackSheep. Full of yourself...judging,condemning, cajoling others in a familiar exercise of false superiority over all that your gaze settles upon.
A towering display of Self-Will Run Riot! Typical of terrified mice and spineless whimperers, desperate to cover up their hysterical terror with on-the-fly citations of idiocy and stupidity on everyone else's part but their own.
Oblivious to real dialog, it makes no matter to you that those you attack and condemn are painlessly oblivious to your "clever putdowns".

Nice put downs! You must practice!

I don't lie and I down run away from any questions directed toward my beliefs or the lack thereof. So, yeah, I do feel a bit superior. I realize that I am not, but I do feel the twinge, now and again. Especially when a personal attack is all that you can come up with.

Your insults are as silly as you are.:) I ask questions, based on the bible and you insult. I suppose that; you believe that makes you a better person. It does not. It just makes you silly.

I give you direct quotes from your lord jesus the christ and you give silly, childlike insults. If that makes you feel good, GREAT! But to the rest of us, you look stupid.

No problem. I will continue you quote the bible.

When a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod so hard that the slave dies under his hand, he shall be punished. If, however, the slave survives for a day or two, he is not to be punished, since the slave is his own property.(Exodus 21:20-21 NAB)

I do respect that you read scripture, though you need to study which is different.

and as I said we can't prove God He proves Himself and He uses the revelation of scripture to do so. It's for us to witness of His testimony. And our consciences bare witness with the Spirit of God who is the interpreter of scripture. Those without the spirit need to be taught twisted doctrines of men

That is pretty much true. Likewise, you would not read the history of your religion, the history of the pagan religion, science books or anything else that I could give you. You would either dismiss it as anti-christian or just dismiss it because it shows that your religion, like all the others, is man made.
Here is what I will do. You, or any other believer of any faith, tell me what you are going to pray for a day ahead a time. Then we can all sit back and watch what happens.
Step one: A believe stands up to the challenge.
Step two: We agree on what you are going to pray for. It must be something that we can all witness.
Step three: Use as many believers as you wish, pray and let's see what happens.
My bet is; not a one of you believers will except the challenge. You will have a hand full of excuses, ignore it, or tell me that I should be the one to pray, FOR A YEAR!!
