Now your doctor will ask you if you hunt!!! Who could have made this up? Your doctor questioning if you are a gun owner and what kind you own.
Thank you Obama.
This is no lie; during my last doctor visit, I told her hot flashes were waking me up at night and I was having a hard time falling back asleep because I'd lay there and think about "bad things." The word I should have used was "negative" things, but I felt like she was rushed and I was trying to talk too fast and couldn't think straight.

By negative things, I meant stuff like finances, work, the passing of my dog, news stories, etc....She asked me questions like, "What kind of bad thoughts do you have? When I didn't want to tell her any of my personal business, she told me I was holding something back.

Then she asked me if I felt like I wanted to hurt myself or someone else!! All the while, she was typing stuff in her computer....no more paper notepads like doctors used to use.

By the time I left her office, I was fuming at what she may have been implying AND recording into the government database! I am perfectly normal and sane.(Believe it, I am.)

I can't wait until she starts menopause! Until then, she will never understand the sleepless nights and the hormonal changes. It's effing miserable!

Yes ma'am! I'm not opposed at all to all schools having resource officers &/or security. My daughters does. We can't prevent crazy ppl from existing. But taking the guns isn't the answer. They will just find another way to massacre. Taking guns only disarms the innocent.
Every able-bodied adult who works at the school, IF they want to exercise their right to bear arms, should be able to. Their lives, and the lives of the kids, are worth defending no matter where they are!

I remember a time when guns in schools were not an issue. They were allowed and there were no shootings back then. No accidents in the classroom either.

Back this statement up. Provide legitimate dates, schools, and circumstances where there were guns in schools and it was NOT an issue. There have plenty of school shootings over the years. If there was not one in your school during the period in time you went to that school, then that is a good thing. However, it is blanket statement and you need to back it up. Blanket statements like that are hard to back up. How do you know it was NOT an issue? Weren't you a child? Were you that aware of current events and controversies in your town as a child? Amazing if that is true, but I doubt it.

It's up to you to back it up. You are the one questioning it. When I was a kid, guns were not banned in the schools. People mostly didn't carry them as far as I know, but it was not a jail sentence if an adult had one.(I do believe I had a science teacher in high school who carried.) Nobody ever talked about or thought about this issue back then.
BTW, I may be wrong but, it's also my understanding that guns can still be carried in schools, as long as they are not concealed. Look it up if you doubt that too.

PS. I live in Michigan. Hope that helps.

The right to hunt is a privilege and I trust AR legislators will take care of us on this matter. Obama als hunts and most of Congress does. Expect game hunting to go unscathed in all the hoopla.

"The right to hunt is a privilege"
Huh????
How can a "right" be a privilege?

It's not the right to hunt game that we are up against here. Our founders made no mention of keeping arms so we can hunt. They wanted every able-bodied person to be armed to defend the country against tyranny from government or any other lurking evil.

"Firearms stand next in importance to the constitution itself. They are the American people's liberty teeth and keystone under independence from the hour the Pilgrims landed to the present day, events, occurences and tendencies prove that to ensure peace security and happiness, the rifle and pistol are equally indispensable the very atmosphere of firearms anywhere restrains evil interference they deserve a place of honor with all that's good."
George Washington
First President of the United States

----------

"The supposed quietude of a good man allures the ruffian; while on the other hand arms, like laws, discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as property. The same balance would be preserved were all the world destitute of arms, for all would be alike; but since some will not, others dare not lay them aside Horrid mischief would ensue were the law-abiding deprived of the use of them."
Thomas Paine

----------

"To preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms and be taught alike, especially when young, how to use them."
Richard Henry Lee
American Statesman, 1788

Well, you've just not paid much attention to what the fine members of the ABA have done and continue to do to the US legal system on a daily basis, not to mention the US Supreme Court. I like one of the recent rulings by the Iowa Supreme Court ... I'm male, you're female and work for me, you're a good employee who has performed very well for the past 10 years, I'm really starting to like your hot little body and the way your clothes highlight all my favorite curves, but now I need to fire you because I find you too attractive and I'm having thoughts about riding you into the sunset, so you're fired! Iowa Supreme Court decision in the civil suit brought against me for firing for that reason: Yes, we agree that you had the right to fire your faithful employee for the reasons given.
Florida: you now have the right to turn your bass-heavy automobile audio speakers up to blast-your-head-off volumes; neighbors can complain but their arguments are invalid; your music is a form of personal expression, ie speech, so you have the right to annoy any and all as you drive from here to there day or night. YOU have the right to annoy everyone, but they have no right to peace and quiet ... because you are on a public street and at home you're on your own property.
The list can get quite long ... some people have a lot more rights than do others, and this becomes especially clear when a person has Big Money or when someone doesn't.
Go to a physician's office, sit in the waiting room ... the only "rights" in there will belong to the fools who thoughtlessly bark germs into the air even when they're sitting 4 ft from you; say anything to them and you'll learn quickly that YOU are the one with no rights at all.

In the USA a person doesn't have a "right" to be considerate and thoughtful, but apparently there is a "right" that says it's okay to be narcissistic, inconsiderate, thoughtless, clueless, imbecilic and woefully ignorant.

My favorite thing to do is complain to the rangers when I go camping that a fellow camper is playing music I can hear at my campsite....when I am there to get away from noise and listen to nature.

I especially loved it one night precisely at 10:00 (quiet time) when a woman yelled "IT'S QUIET TIME" because a roudy group was still making noise a few campsites away.

<quoted text>Why should there be quiet time? The noise maker owns that forest just as much as you do!
It's called common courtesy. If I am "part owner," as you call it, of that forest, why should they get 24 hours of music listening time, and I get 0 time to listen to birds? Any music someone plays should not be heard outside of that persons campsite, period! This goes for ANY time of the day or night. Some people actually go camping out in the wilderness to have a wilderness experience. In the wilderness, there should be no human technology noises at all.

It's like the ranger told me one time; there are so many people who all come out for different reasons. All should be accomodated. This goes for lights vs. darkness as well. Some go camring to stargaze. Tshouldn't have bright lights strung up at nearby campsites hindering their outdoor experience either."

A wilderness and a campsite are two different things. Expect company at a campsite. Expect to be alone in a wilderness. If you have noise and light problems, you got lost or you are still in the city.

Hey if you have access to a toilet you are nowhere near the wilderness. You are at a recreation park. Bring a shovel and dig your own crapper like I do. Now that is my friends.
