Ferguson is not attempting to follow through with any complaints that he is getting from citizens about speeding in the subdivisions, subdivisions being used as thourough fares, loud music playing from cars (even though there is a state law it should become an ordinance), impeding traffic that loves to ride in the left lane, etc. He won't get my support again.

Get your vote again? What vote?
Felons and those on the sex offender registry can't vote anyway.

In that vein I have a question for you:

Have you ever spoken to a woman without having to give a credit card number or dial a 900 number first?
(and no the inflatable one in your bed doesn't count!)

Birdie... Ferguson isn't necessarily the right person to take that complaint to. It should be going to the police department. If they don't do anything? You could always call the sheriffs office & get a car dispatched to it over the radio!

There's ways to get these things done, just gotta know how.

Or else call McDonald's. There's usually anywhere from 2 to 3 squad cars parked up there.

They just fired one guy for sleeping on duty, after a video was presented. Tomorrow another video will show up complete with time stamps showing how they stayed in there for an hour and a half doing nothing. The cars were sitting there idling and burning up costly fuel.

People expect their tax money to be spent and earned by service oriented employees, not some leeches looking for a job hand out. Cops are no different. Prevent, Deter and Apprehend criminals---not sow down on the free public teat/McDonald's!

Slow learners.

If they just fired one guy for sleeping on duty, it sounds like they are doing the job. If what was posted here is true, regarding a time stamped video showing one and a half hour "break time", then judge after action has been taken, or not taken. I have doubts regarding there being a video. I won't judge our mayor based on what someone else did, but rather what he does, after he has all the facts. We've all seen what happened when a mayor refused to do anything when he "buddies" have been caught, not just being lazy, but in criminal acts.
I'll make my judgement based on how he reacts to the facts, if there is a video.

Why should it be necessary for anyone to monitor what the police officers hired and sworn to uphold the law are doing? Should that be necessary at all?

To Oakland Voter: I'm not blasting the Mayor or anyone else idiot! I'm just saying that a few weeks back, 6 businesses were broken into and robbed while 3 squad cars sat at the McDonald's sowing down on free food. Alarms were set off and still these slugs only arrived on the scene 15 minutes later!! Why hell..they even broke into the dog food joint directly across the street from where they were sitting!!! To make matters worse, a McDonald's employee had a cell phone picture of the Mayor in a police uniform sitting in the McDonald's at the time!!
I am not going to judge the mayor either, but he dam sure better grasp the idea that we are not going to put up with a repeat business of inefficiency and corruption. None of us can afford it!
The cigarette store man just spent $5000 to install jail house type bars on his business. Should that really be necessary? Is that the cost of doing business in Oakland? If you don't pay, you don't play?

Calm down! "Not blasting" sure sounds like "blasting". You have asked "why should it be necessary to monitor....police officers", are you living in the real world? I can think of few other groups that should be monitored, and monitored heavily. We have a history in Oakland, not under this mayor, of the police chief and numerous police officers being convicted of felonies. The cost of doing business everywhere is security, we live in a time when criminals seldom get jail time for their crimes. Look at the afore mentioned convicted ex-Oakland cops, I don't think any of them got jail time. Even our last mayor, convicted of Three felonies, received No Jail Time. Most insurance companies will give you a good discount if you install various types of alarms, bars etc. I'm sure being a business man, after doing the math the man installing the security bars feels he will come out ahead. I know our police dept was run by a criminal, now convicted, for many years. When Mayor Ferguson was running for mayor he heard from over half the voters in Oakland about the police force, he promised if elected, he would ride as a reserve on a regular basis with the PD-God Bless Him for keeping his promise to those that elected him! This is something rare in this day and age, and something we hadn't seen in Oakland for almost two decades.
I am very interested in seeing IF a video, as discribed in the above posts exists, or is it just another child playing on the computer with nothing better to do?
We now have a PD that is 1000% better than we have ever had, we impound cars from drug runners and drunks-something almost never(if ever)done when mullins was mayor-we didn't even have an impound lot. We use the money from selling seized vehicles (keeping costs low for the homeowners)to keep the police force up-to-date). Keeping Taxes Low is very appealing to most homeowners/taxpayers in Oakland. Regarding the businesses that were broken into, I'm sad that happend-it appears to be politically motivated, as the "break-ins" didn't result in the theft of much or anything of value. You must wonder, who would have done this, and why would someone do this just to make a political point? Then again, who would have believed we would have had a cop that would shoot his own badge, and make up a stupid story to be a "hero" on Christmas?

What businesses were broken into? I have not heard this one..Also, I supported Ferguson in both elections but I must say, what has he done?...Driving through Oakland is starting to look like driving down Summer Ave with the pawn shop flags, weeds, used car lots, check cashing stores, etc..On the flip side, Mullins wasn't the answer either

The Mayor is over the Police Dept and all other depts. concerning City Hall. Please post on here how much money will Oakland get from these impounded autos. I here that it won't be much at all after the county and state get their share.

Funny you should mention "politically motivated" regarding the break ins---all of these businesses stayed neutral or supported the Mullins people over the years.

The other funny thing you mentioned was how the Oakland PD is 1000% better than it used to be. Compared to what pray tell?
99.9% of the new people are run offs/throw aways from other departments. Sleeping on duty-Neglect of Duty-Courtesy-Personal Conduct-Insubordination-Dealin g with the Public. The only one who is not a run off is the colored boy who used to be midnight shift gateguard at Southwest Day Care College!

Maybe the Mayor is smart to ride along to keep an eye on these stooges---but then again wasn't he a run off/throw away from some other police agency?
Seems we just traded foxes to guard the hen house! Time and the FBI will tell.

Polically motivated: in an attempt to make the current OPD look bad, after cleaning house on the criminal element that for so long controlled our city.
How is our PD 1000% better? Answer: chief of police is not "killing police dogs" pulling his insurance scam. Now a convicted felon: plead guilty
Two OPD officers helping the OPD Chief of Police in pulling his insurance scam, now convicted felons.
One crazy OPD officer shooting his badge with his service weapon, while on duty Christmas eve, in an attempt to be a Hero, now a convicted felon.
No impound of autos driven by drunks and drug haulers by OPD, Now we do enforce the law, arrest and impound-even known supporters of our mayor, if dui, are arrested and their car impounded.
I don't know how much more you want, that alone is easily 100% in most peoples eyes.
Most of the people on the force are not as they were under mullins. Just read the above. Chief Jewel for example in a well know, professional police officer. If you have specific examples, by name and time, Chief Jewel will take action, no one not Mayor Ferguson, Not Chief Jewel, Not any thinking person in Oakland wants bad cops, we had enough of that under mullins and tisdale! Common sense dictates that you don't fire people without cause. Just because some child claims he saw Santa Claus does not make it so. Nor, does it make it so, when a child like person posts on this board, that our cops were doing this or that, I believe it should come up to a little higher standard of proof, photos, etc. Remember the standards to convict mullins, tisdale, jj etc were quite high, as they should have been, not only does it keep politics out of it, but it also makes sure they were guilty, and were they ever! I am looking forward to the next town meeting, if there is all this proof, I'm sure it will be presented in public, for all to see, if not, it becomes just some more whimpering slobber from those that mourn for the days when a couple of bucks down at city hall would take care of their problems. Note: if there is all the evidence, I will give the Mayor one week to act, I can't complain if he hasn't had time to act, then if these guys aren't fired I will join you in the demand that they be fired, good evidence, good eyewitnesses, time stamps etc, I will be right there, and here with you. Now if the Mayor does take care of the problem right away, as he has other problems, I will be the first to say thanks for being an honest mayor, looking out after the town of Oakland.

Any man who would show this much attention to another man must be of depraved or unsound of mind. You really should seek professional help or counseling for this unatural obesession with men. Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed violently for the very same obsession you are constantly on here displaying. Repent before it's too late!

Why does the police department have captain earl. As far as I can tell he does nothing but sit around the office or ride around looking at women all day with the wonderful chief. Why are we wasting our money on a man that does nothing. Let's get rid of this idiot and save some money.

I worked with both chief jewell and captain earl. Chief jewell was run off by the new Millington mayor and Captain chris earl was on the verge of being run off for several questionable things until jewell pulled some strings to bring him to oakland. I'm sorry you guys got our leftovers. For your sake I hope you find dirt on the guy just like he had out here.

You're right....it's none other than that stinking stool pigeon Presson getting mad.
He tried to slide back into Oakland and was told real quick to get lost or take a long walk off a short pier. They know the facts about him. Oakland PD is on the right track and they don't need any crook stool pigeons generating low morale or sabotage.

FYI...He was cut out of the dead dog buy out deal and got mad. Oh yeah, he was in on it originally. He went to the TBI trying to be the funny man hinting at something going on in Oakalnd. Too late-the TBI already knew most of it, and when Presson tried to back out they put the squeeze to him in order to get him to rat out the others. He sang like a canary when faced with 5 years alone with Big Bubba!

Don't believe me? It's all public record under FOIA. Go get your own copy of the investigation.
