Vote some more Repugs into Office like this one!!!------

Convicted former lawmaker wants bond

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP)- A former Oklahoma lawmaker convicted of bribery wants a judge to let him remain free on bond while he appeals his conviction.

A hearing is set for Wednesday in Oklahoma City on the request from former Rep. Randy Terrill of Moore.

A 12-member jury convicted Terrill Tuesday evening of offering a bribe for withdrawal of candidacy. Prosecutors allege Terrill, a Republican, offered to put former Democratic state Sen. Debbe Leftwich in an $80,000-a-year job at the medical examiner's office if she would agree to not seek re-election in 2010 so that a Republican state representative could run for her open seat. Terrill had denied the allegations.

The jury recommended that Terrill be sentenced to one year in prison and fined $5,000. Formal sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 5.

NO SHAME AMONG THE REPUBLICANS

Elected officials testify at bribery trial

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP)- Several agency and elected officials are testifying in the trial of a former state legislator accused of bribing a Senate colleague with a job offer.

Two state senators were among those who testified Thursday in the trial of former state Rep. Randy Terrill. The Moore Republican is charged with offering a former Democratic colleague an $80,000-a-year state job in exchange for her withdrawal as a candidate for re-election in 2010. Prosecutors allege Terrill masterminded the scheme so that a Republican colleague of Terrill's could seek the open seat.

Democratic state Sen. Al McAffrey testified Leftwich told him she planned to run for re-election in 2010 and that he helped coordinate a fundraiser for her race the month before she announced she wouldn't seek re-election.

THIS IS OKLAHOMA---BEANER---

Three officers on leave after man's death in Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP)— Three police officers are on administrative leave while officials investigate the death of a man outside an Oklahoma movie theater.

Moore police spokesman Jeremy Lewis says Luis Rodriguez died after an altercation with officers early Saturday morning in a parking lot at a theater in the central Oklahoma city.

Rodriguez's wife, Nair, and daughter, Luinahi, told local media that the two women had gotten into a fight inside the theater and Luis Rodriguez chased them into the parking lot. Lewis says that when officers attempted to question Luis Rodriguez, he was uncooperative. He was handcuffed and placed on the ground. That's when his family says police beat him and he died.

Lewis says police are reviewing a cellphone video that captured the incident.

The officers' names have not been released.

Oklahoma needs this law---Of course it would only apply to people on welfare---or get food stamps.

TOPEKA, Kan.(AP)— A Kansas lawmaker is proposing a bill that would allow teachers, caregivers and parents to spank children hard enough to leave marks, as a form of discipline.

Current Kansas law allows spanking that doesn't leave marks. Rep. Gail Finney, a Democrat from Wichita, said he wants to allow up to 10 strikes of the hand and that could leave redness and bruising. The bill also would allow parents to give permission to others to spank their children.

It would continue to ban hitting a child with fists, in the head or body, or with a belt or switch.

Finney said she wants to restore parental rights, and improve discipline.

KCTV reports Rep. John Rubin, chairman of the House Corrections and Juvenile Justice Committee, said he isn't sure the committee will even consider the bill.

Fourth Georgia hospital closes due to Obamacare payment cuts

9:27 PM 02/18/2014
The fourth Georgia hospital in two years is closing its doors due to severe financial difficulties caused by Obamacare’s payment cuts for emergency services.

The Lower Oconee Community Hospital is, for now, a critical access hospital in southeastern Georgia that holds 25 beds. The hospital is suffering from serious cash-flow problems, largely due to the area’s 23 percent uninsured population, and hopes to reopen as “some kind of urgent care center,” CEO Karen O’Neal said.

Many hospitals in the 25 states that rejected the Medicaid expansion are facing similar financial problems. Liberal administration ally Think Progress has already faulted Georgia for not expanding Medicaid as Obamacare envisioned.

Read more: http://dailycaller.com/2014/02/18/fourth-geor...
----------

The states who didn't expand Medicaid due to state laws require them to fund all expenditures and they cannot afford to insure all the people who no longer have jobs or are working part time menial jobs and cannot afford to pay anything toward healthcare.

Anyone with a brain cell would have understood jobs should have been job 1 for this administration instead of healthcare for illegal immigrants and expanding Medicaid for millions expanding SNAP for illegal immigrants and millions of unemployed military families. If we had a vibrant economy so many of these problems would have worked themselves out because people would have jobs! But Obama and the progressive liberal socialists want more government control more government programs more government mandates more, more, more without stopping and thinking where does the tax money come from so you can expand government programs?

Liberals can't count or balance a checkbook.

Wow, I never doubted election fraud because this has been going on for a long time and finally came out in the open with ACORN debacle so basically they change their name get a candidate that's just as corrupt as they are with Wendy Davis.

Same story over and over.

You see the same corrupt attitude on this thread with liberals posting in other people's usernames. No integrity absolutely none.

Our Decadent Elites

Peggy Noonan

Watching Season 2 of “House of Cards.” Not to be a scold or humorless, but do Washington politicians understand how they make themselves look when they embrace the show and become part of its promotion by spouting its famous lines? Congressmen only work three days a week. Each shot must have taken two hours or so—the setup, the crew, the rehearsal, the learning the line. How do they have time for that? Why do they think it’s good for them?

“House of Cards” very famously does nothing to enhance Washington’s reputation. It reinforces the idea that the capital has no room for clean people. The earnest, the diligent, the idealistic, they have no place there. Why would powerful members of Congress align themselves with this message? Why do they become part of it? I guess they think they’re showing they’re in on the joke and hip to the culture. I guess they think they’re impressing people with their surprising groovelocity.

Or maybe they’re just stupid.

But it’s all vaguely decadent, no? Or maybe not vaguely. America sees Washington as the capital of vacant, empty souls, chattering among the pillars. Suggesting this perception is valid is helpful in what way?

I don’t understand why members of Congress, the White House and the media become cooperators in videos that sort of show that deep down they all see themselves as ... actors. And good ones! In a phony drama. Meant I suppose to fool the rubes.

It’s all supposed to be amusing, supposed to show you’re an insider who sees right through this town. But I’m not sure it shows that.

We’re at a funny point in our political culture. To have judgment is to be an elitist. To have dignity is to be yesterday. To have standards is to be a hypocrite—you won’t always meet standards even when they’re your own, so why have them?

I wonder if the titans of Wall Street understand how they look in this.

At least they tried to keep it secret. That was good of them!

They are America’s putative great business leaders. They are laughing, singing, drinking, posing in drag and acting out skits. The skits make fun of their greed and cynicism. In doing this they declare and make clear, just in case you had any doubts, that they are greedy and cynical.

All of this is supposed to be merry, high-jinksy, unpretentious, wickedly self-spoofing. But it seems more self-exposing, doesn’t it?

And all of it feels so decadent.

No one wants to be the earnest outsider now, no one wants to play the sober steward, no one wants to be the grind, the guy carrying around a cross of dignity. No one wants to be accused of being staid. No one wants to say,“This isn’t good for the country, and it isn’t good for our profession.”

And it is all about the behavior of our elites, our upper classes, which we define now in a practical sense as those who are successful, affluent and powerful. This group not only includes but is almost limited to our political class, Wall Street, and the media, from Hollywood to the news divisions.

They’re all kind of running America.

They all seem increasingly decadent.

What are the implications of this, do you think?

They’re making their videos, holding their parties and having a ball. OK. But imagine you’re a Citizen at Home just grinding through—trying to do it all, the job, the parenthood, the mowing the lawn and paying the taxes. No glamour, all responsibility and effort. And you see these little clips on the Net where the wealthy sing about how great taxpayer bailouts are and you feel like ... they’re laughing at you.

What happens to a nation whose elites laugh at its citizens?

What happens to its elites?
