Arkansas residents evacuate as Exxon-Mobil tar sands pipeline ruptures
An Exxon-Mobil oil pipeline ruptured Friday afternoon in the town of Mayflower, Arkansas, forcing the evacuation of 20 homes and shutting down sections of interstate highway. According to Little Rock’s KATV, a hazardous materials team from the Office of Emergency Management has contained the spill and is currently attempting a cleanup.
The burst pipe is part of the Pegasus pipeline network, which connects tar sands along the Gulf coast to refineries in Houston. Thousands of gallons of crude oil erupted from the breach around 3:00 p.m. on Friday, spilling through a housing subdivision and into the town’s storm drainage system, fouling drainage ditches and shutting down Highway 365 and Interstate 40.
Residents were evacuated to avoid health hazards from crude oil fumes and to keep stray sparks from igniting the standing oil. Emergency workers contained the spill by hastily constructing earthen dams.
No need to hyperventilate according to KATV ABC affiliate authorities: OIL SPILL CONTAINED, Town of Mayflower,Lake, residents are safe.

Are you shopping for someone Tammy? Because I know your a little long in the tooth to need one, gee, do you even know how much birth control pills cost today to compare? Because I don't. Cause there are so many brands today compared to what you may have used back in the day.

If your shopping around for an abortion, it's been 30 years for me, I have no idea. I guess you could call around.

Since you keepin count of my posts, you can one more!

Keeping track of your posting was only 2 pages on my computer. Man alot of keeping!
No I do not know what birth control pills cost but I bet I can ask around and find out! I bet you could do the same. surely your unmarried daughter would know! Then maybe not!
I do know that birth control pills have not been covered by insurance for quite some time! Even back in my day of using them. But there are many meds not covered by insurance. But I also donot know what the going rate is for abortions now or in the past! As far as me calling around NO. I am not the one yepping about woman should use abortions as a way of birth control.

I know it's hard for you to let the days go when you were involved and part of the insurance industry. But gee, those funds come from the insurance industry, not taxpayers. Probably as you get your retirement from the insurance industry, to your mind, that's your money too.

But really, the insurance industry has record breaking billion dollar profits and women not having to pay their deductible isn't touching your funds or the taxpayers. It's the various health insurance companies where the women carry their insurance that are out the deductible. Really your not out a penny. After all insurance CEO'S are taking home million for just a year. You've still got yours.

Funny that you would mention that. The oil company has quite a record after so many official say that it would be perfectly safe. What was noxious about this it was underground and up flowed right in the middle of a nice neighborhood.

They weren't even working on the pipeline when it burst but had just upped the capacity and then "boom!" Oh well, their going to have to pay for this one. But they will still deduct it from their taxes. After they have just had to pay a fine on Tuesday too:

(Reuters)- The U.S. Department of Transportation has fined Exxon Mobil Corp $1.7 million over pipeline safety violations relating to a 2011 oil spill in the Yellowstone River, regulators have said.
Exxon's Silvertip pipeline, which carries 40,000 barrels per day of crude in Montana, leaked about 1,500 barrels of oil into the river in July 2011 after heavy flooding in the area.

Of course you Okies won't complain if it happens here...that's why they put it through your property to affect your land and drinking water. And it just travels threw Red States. They know your good little soldiers! After all that pipeline is shipping their toxic oil to China. BTW just how many temp jobs did Okies get for their pipeline? Haven't heard. But don't worry about the oil company, their still going to make their billions...Spills are just a tax deduction to them...no sweat.

Dont' worry about it Jesse, I found out about the pipeline jobs...unfortunately Okies have to compete with the rest of the pipeline states for jobs plus Canadians. Here's the rundown:

A report by the Cornell University Global Labor Institute stated that the pipeline "will create no more than 2,500-4,650 temporary direct construction jobs for two years, according to TransCanada's own data supplied to the State Department." It estimated that "the new permanent US pipeline jobs in the US number as few as 50.

Plus Jesse, we might not even have to worry about our water if there was a break. New Mexico, Texas and Oklahoma will still be in drought conditions this year.. Less water to worry about!

Good News for the rich in Oklahoma, Mary Falin wants to give you a tax break and the bad news she wants to take the money from Education! Only in Oklahoma!

Glad my kids are already graduated from University and have moved from here.

Here's the story:

Oklahoma Latest Republican State To Push Tax Cuts For The Rich

Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin (R) is the latest Republican governor pushing for cuts to the state income tax, and like the plans from other states, Fallin’s would give most of its benefits to the state’s wealthiest residents. The proposal is gaining in the state legislature, where it has passed the House and is awaiting consideration in the Senate.

Oklahoma’s tax code is already skewed toward the wealthy: the poorest Oklahomans pay an average of 10.3 percent of their income in taxes, while the wealthiest 1 percent pay just 4.6 percent of theirs, according to the Institute for Taxation and Economic Policy.

And while Fallin is cutting taxes and reducing state revenues, Oklahoma will spend less this fiscal year on education than it did last year and is still spending 10.7 percent less on higher education than it did before the recession.

Republican governors across the country are pitching tax cuts that benefit the wealthy, and like Fallin, they sell them as a way to boost their economies.

A recent report from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, however, found that after a similar round of tax cuts in the 1990s, states that cut taxes saw slower economic and job growth than states that did not.(HT Citizens for Tax Justice)

Yeah, She's doin a George Bush economic policy, since that was so so good, Not. We are still waiting on those jobs that George promised Mary....

Govenor Scott Walker did what Fallin wants to do and cut teachers ...remember? And he was the Republican hero that refused money for a rail system from the Stimulus, but another state took the money and the jobs...

Oh and by the way Walkers state's ratings for job growth slipped down to 46th out of the 50 states.

Gee Mary, you must really love this state huh?

If federal hazmat officials say they have it contained on Saturday afternoon statements which were reported by a local stations then does that mean you don't believe the federal government?

Better keep that opinion under your hat or you'll lose your job as a liberal hack.

California State Auditor Report was released and California net worth is (-)127.2 Billion. If the state was a business it would be a candidate for liquidation. California business and celebrities are moving out of state. Just a few days ago Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi announced they were leaving California to move to Australia.

Business is leaving because of high taxation and increased regulations. Big business is leaving our country because we now have the highest corporate tax rate in the world. Could that possibly be why we don't have more jobs?

We're told the unemployment rate is decreasing but then one has to consider how the unemployment rate is tabulated. To get the percentage of those unemployed is figured by the number receiving unemployment benefits but once you fall of the rolls you aren't counted as unemployed. Think about that for a minute and you will quickly realize the unemployment rate is much higher than reported.

Remember the law of cause and effect. We are getting a lesson again which we already should have learned.

46 million Americans on food stamps UP 65%

43% of families broke with an average of $15,422.00 in credit card debt.

Does this sound like a vibrant economy "booming" toward full recovery?

Correction: "And it just travels THROUGH Red States".

*Who regulates the Oil company? Federal Regulators with Federal fines attached to violations. Fines are designated as expenditures according to I.R.S. codes therefore they are by definition a deduction. Hazmat spills are monitored and repaired by federal guidelines and can only be restored/repaired by federally licensed specialist in restoration and handling of hazardous materials.
