Raising Taxes On The Rich Would Reduce Income Inequality: Larry Summers
Keep in mind, Summers is a REPUBLICAN.
#1377 Feb 18, 2014
Fracking the Eagle Ford Shale
This is going next door in Texas.
Do poor hard working people come after profits.
Another strong argument in favor of ACA; don't you think?
#1378 Feb 19, 2014
This kind of stuff is probably going on in Louisiana right now.
Battleground Texas is the new ACORN. They are breaking the laws of Texas (as is the right of ONLY DEMOCRATS to do). The ObamaCare registration information is being illegally shared with Dem organizations. If this were Repubs doing this in New York or California there would be a Federal investigation. The story below has a video showing the BT people admitting to breaking Texas laws.

There you go again, using The Huffington Post as reference material. It is nothing but a liberal rag, as indicated by you using it for a source.
Summers is NOT a Republican, but a Democrat. Do research, instead of pulling "facts" out of your butt.
Taxes raised on anyone who is "rich" will be passed along to lower income taxpayers if they are a business owner. If they are not, they or their accountant will find a way around it, to avoid it. The "rich" already pay the majority of the taxes, and that is already a redistribution of wealth. Raising their taxes EVEN MORE only serves to worsen that situation, and is nothing but simple class warfare.
You are a liar and a Socialist.
#1380 Feb 19, 2014
Anything quoted from TWC is naturally going to be a liberal viewpoint.
Your "sources" of "information" are a dead giveaway to the reason your thinking is one-tracked and warped. You need to look around a little for your "facts".

The fourth Georgia hospital in two years is closing its doors due to severe financial difficulties caused by Obamacare’s payment cuts for emergency services.
The Lower Oconee Community Hospital is, for now, a critical access hospital in southeastern Georgia that holds 25 beds. The hospital is suffering from serious cash-flow problems, largely due to the area’s 23 percent uninsured population, and hopes to reopen as “some kind of urgent care center,” CEO Karen O’Neal said.
Many hospitals in the 25 states that rejected the Medicaid expansion are facing similar financial problems. Liberal administration ally Think Progress has already faulted Georgia for not expanding Medicaid as Obamacare envisioned.

Obamacare focuses on WELLNESS; not people going to the ER as primary care facility. Thought you would be behind those costs cuts. Hummmm, guess I was misled.
Hopes to reopen as a URGENT CARE CENTER - isn't that where you went for your care so you would NOT have to wait? Isn't this a FOR PROFIT CENTER?
DID NOT EXPAND MEDICAID with 23% uninsured in that area. Sounds like they are more interested in profits than caring for the sick. What would Jesus do?
A lot more complicated than you think, right?
#1385 Feb 21, 2014
Dems rejected Summers for Chair of the Federal Reserve (Obama would have had to get Repub votes to get him in) so he must be a Republican. lol I am up to date dude.
Again, in the 80's, laws were changed with regards to what constitutes "unearned income" (think Mitt Romney and equity firms) and "unearned income" tax rates were lowered (again think Mitt Romney). Middle Class jobs were exported while cheap products were imported (trade imbalance). Before Ronald Reagan, corporations would pay their employees before paying taxes; so basically more people were able to take care of themselves.
No one seemed to have an issue when redistribution of wealth happened in the 80's, why so hot under the collar now? More money circulating in the US economy and fixing our failing/ out of date infrastructure is a good thing. More people working, more people paying their own health insurance and premiums and tax assistance to the uninsured go down. win/win.
What is really going on in Texas? It is about to turn blue. Think LA is next?

A report released by the non-partisan Congressional Research Service on December 22nd, 2009 stated that two filmmakers likely broke the law when they conducted a widely publicized "sting" against the group.(The report on the community group ACORN also found no misuse of its federal funds over the past five years and no attempts at improper voting following its 2008 voter registration drive. The report raises questions about the Constitutionality of a government wide funding ban. The press release "Conyers Releases CRS Report on ACORN" is at judiciary.house.gov/news/091222.html .)
Earlier in December an independent report by former Massachusetts Attorney General Scott Harshbarger examining the undercover videos filmed in offices of the national anti-poverty group ACORN states the employees portrayed in the videos did not engage in any illegal activity, but the filmmakers, who refused to be interviewed during the investigation, likely did.
PLEASE CLICK on the link. You deserve to know the truth. Why destroy something that was helping so many? Just like Planned Parenthood. Abortions were going down; isn't that what everyone wanted?

"Obamacare focuses on WELLNESS; not people going to the ER as primary care facility. "
Bullshit! Just like every other democrap program, Obamacare focuses on destroying the lives of the working middle class. Losers, dopers, lazy leeches, irresponsible breeders, people with no decency whatsoever, unreliable, unwilling to work or do anything useful to anybody, cheaters, thieves and liars. These are the people the dems love to reward. The more disgusting and despicable their behavior, the more the dems seek them out and buy their votes by forcefully taking the earnings of hard-working responsible people. Since you always polyparrot the godless marxists every chance you get, everyone with a brain knows exactly what you are and what you stand for.

Middle Class jobs; therefore, lifestyle was destroyed by the Greedy 1%.
Out of control welfare was changed by Wall Street by way of K Street. Reminder, Congress decides what is covered by welfare.

The ’80s Want Their Politics Back – the 1880s
There are more college educated and Votech trained people than ever before (which means a lot of people in debt with student loans). Parents and students sacrificed. WHERE ARE ALL THOSE GOOD JOBS? Congress wants a law that allows at least 10,000 highly trained immigrants in; said they were smarter. Smarter or cheaper? Wait, aren't the Repubs trying to keep immigrants out with a fence at the border at a cost of billions to taxpayers???
With so few good jobs, the market is now flooded with qualified applicants; not enough jobs to go around. Lots of burger flipping jobs though. I understand there are corporate employers that help you with the welfare paperwork.
I was right, you are so focused on a few cheaters that you do not realize that a lot of people, who lost their jobs in the 2007-2010, still have not found work and they are both educated and experienced. Their crime, they are in their 40's, 50's and 60's. The young people, who are deep in debt, are willing to take smaller wages and will too get welfare help.
Stop chasing your tails. Even the Pope agrees with me.

13 Famous People Who Once Got Food Stamps
Welfare is a compassionate helping hand. Was never intended to be a lifestyle for some nor was it designed to generate huge profits for Corporations.
Just like the ACA, welfare needs to be repaired; fix what is broken.
I know people who received welfare at a time in their life when they hit rock bottom. It was the help that got them through until they could get a job and pay it back through their taxes.
Before you start calling people names and posting vile comments about people who just need a temporary helping hand, check your facts. What % of the US budget goes to welfare vs. the amount spent on the last two wars that killed/injured so many?
Again, where are all those GOOD JOBS promised so many years ago?
Keep in mind, the Repubs pushed back the retirement age to 67. How many employers will want to keep employees that long? What about healthcare costs for people in their 60's?
People, use common sense, if you choose not to use math.
#1392 Feb 21, 2014
People just like you voted for handouts instead of jobs. A job creator ran for president against the foodstamp king. Guess who won? I know who and what you voted for. The job killing policies of the recipient of your vote has kept the recovery from happening. All he had to do was get out of the way and do nothing and we would have been back in full swing within two years. And he would have been lauded for generations as an incredible president because he knew not to stop the natural business cycle. Instead he has thrown up roadblock after roadblock. Even Clinton had the good sense to give in to the Repubs and now he is held up as the greatest democrap ever.
it is really good that you and all the other "useful idiots" are suffering too. But unfortunately you are unteachable and will never learn. Hopefully not everyone is as stupid as you.
Now go ahead and link to some more liars like yourself spreading propoganda that people with brains know better than believe.

Medicare Advantage plans may face cuts
Another GREAT reason to take healthcare out of the FOR PROFIT arena.
For Profit wants to raise rates, again. This is what happens when profit minded MBA's try to run "HEALTHCARE". MBA's have a place in the luxury arena.
Lets see with the EVER increasing number of baby boomers joining Medicare, you would think premiums would be going down; volume discounts.
Keep in mind the Gov't is negotiating on behalf of the Seniors not the insurance industry. KEEP costs down; focus on WELLNESS!

Using your logic.
George W. Bush ran as a JOB CREATOR, remember. Create an environment where big business can CREATE good jobs. Cut their US tax rate and cut the tax rate on the profits they brought in from overseas and we found ourselves in a GREAT RECESSION, second to the GREAT DEPRESSION. True story. WHERE ARE ALL THOSE GOOD JOBS? So many lost their good jobs, homes, healthcare, retirement... A good number had to take jobs with less pay and no benefits and others are still looking. That is the environment "cutting taxes" created. You would think he would have learned from Ronald Reagan. Again, For Profit is For Profits. He did grow Gov't (2 wars); do you count that?
Obama said, bring good jobs back and we will give you a tax credit. Seems to me he learned the lesson from Reagan and Bush, right? Corporations are waiting for you people to put another Reagan or W. Bush in the WH so they can screw the Middle Class taxpayers one more time and they will use your vote to do it. GET IT?
As far was welfare, just take a look at what the Bush Admn. did with welfare. Made it more convenient by switching to an electronic card that can be reloaded and then bringing the economy to its knees; meaning more people than ever will need the helping hand for a longer period of time. That is NOT job creation, is it?
You people still have said that you are willing to give up your new Patient Protection Rights and Medicare as you know it today, are you? The answer to this question will say it all.
#1395 Feb 22, 2014
Again, the Repubs in Congress are NOT focused on creating good jobs. Doesn't that bother you?
You should pay attention t what they are focused on and how that will impact you and your kids and grandkids...
By the way, Obama and the Dems are NOT against the Keystone pipeline, but want to take all necessary precautions so it does not impact the environment in a negative way. Maybe if more studies had been done in LA way back when, we would not have so many cancer cases and lost lives. Measure twice, cut once, remember!
Remember, cannot live without clean air and water. If that makes me a Liberal, then I am a PROUD LIBERAL!
#1396 Feb 22, 2014
As far as he Keystone Pipeline project, the people of LA do have a dog in that fight.
Underground rivers run north to south, don't they?
Pay attention to the W. Virginia chemical spill. You don't see executives and shareholders of that chemical company drinking the water nor bringing it home for their families to drink, do you?
Again, measure twice, cut once. An ounce of prevention is worth a TON of cure.
#1397 Feb 22, 2014
YOU voted AGAINST jobs and FOR forcing OTHERS to pay YOUR bills. And now you get on here belly aching about "the 1%" not giving everybody a bunch of jobs. Newsflash: those small businesses your vote killed WERE the one's creating the non-government jobs. So you REAlLY hurt the 53% with your vote.
Bottom line, you got EXACTLY what you voted for. So why the constant bitching?
#1398 Feb 22, 2014
WOW, as usual you don't make sense.
What jobs were killed?
How did I hurt the 53% with what vote? I would vote every day of the week for the EPA to investigate environmental issues; I would think ALL would do that. Wouldn't you?
Keep in mind, the execs and their families don't live downwind of the area in question or they would certainly want to ensure that it was safe for their air and water; don't you think?
History: Just look at all those coal mining towns. Wouldn't you say they got screwed? Wouldn't you want to learn from the past; or just keeping paying for it?
Who am I forcing to pay my bills? I hate to bust your flimsy bubble, but I pay my own bills and have NEVER had to sign up for welfare; but certainly hope it is there if I should ever fall on hard times. I think most people 99% believe that.
Where do you suppose the 1% got their money? Mitt Romney was too ashamed to show the taxpayers his tax returns; that is a HUGE CLUE.
