We know that whistleblowers are facing unprecedented dangers in this country for identifying the misdeeds of individuals and certain agencies within the government. Andrew Breitbart was murdered to prevent the release of damning tapes of Obama’s past misdeeds. The coroner investigating Breitbart’s death was murdered as well. Michael Hastings was trying to go into hiding because of information he had learned with regard to the nefarious activities of the FBI and the CIA. He was subsequently murdered.

If Woodward and Bernstein were breaking the Watergate story today, they would be murdered as well in the present political climate in the United States. Most of us in the media understand this and assassination is the risk we increasingly take to bring the truth to an unaware public. However, what happens when the whistleblowers constitute the residents of an entire county? What does government plan to do to these people?

Russia has said today that they will not turn over Snowden. Russia has no treaty with the US for this and Obama can do nothing. So right now the US is talking to all the countries they do have a treaty for so Snowden can not go there.

Oh come on with the conspiracy theories. Lets keep it simple folks. I bet Obama's mom was on the grassy hill when Kennedy was killed also. Come on if anybody was involved in something like this today it would be all over the news and papers in about a day. Especially with all the whistleblowers out there today. Especially now with all the crazy stuff that is going on.

Conspiracy theories are all she has. She sits in her mom's basement all day long with her tin foil hat on waiting for the shape shifting aliens to come and extract her from the basement.

I only hope they brings slings and a forklift because they ain't getting that whale out of that tiny basement without them.

In other news......The supreme court has voted down to renew the voters right act. This 1964 law has been deemed invalid due to the map for which has stood for almost 50 years. So now the federal government can no longer be incharge of certain states voter regulations that were once deemed as having violations to voter rights. Another blow to Obama and the liberals. On a side note: For the states that is tring to pass laws that legal and illegal immigrants have a right to vote in local elections should lose their positions. Anyone who disagree are definately way far left and are socialist. This is America and only citizens are allowed to vote. This is what I was talking about earlier when you give more rights to lawbreakers the the law abbiding

So president jerk weed is not focused on bring back manufacturing jobs back to the US or our failing economy. Instead he would like your heating and light bills to double or more. So are you saying that it is a blow to Obama and the liberals because now those states can once again start playing the rights of black people to vote?

You're actually happy that one of the basic tenants of democracy can now be limited for certain people?

Wow.

Less coal and more natural gas. The natural gas industry employees nearly 3 million people. Coal a little over 500,000.

http://www.naturalgas.org/jobs/jobs-home.asp

WV has a lot of natural gas.

http://www.coalvalleynews.com/view/full_story...

Economically and environmentally it will be good for the state to move towards natural gas production.

Sundog......It is 50 years old. Do you think the racial tensions are the same as back then? Plus with modern technology and audits from both sides. You just like big government. You love playing the race card. With all the leaps this country has taken and you want to go there. Black people have equal right and when they do not get their way.....bam the race card. We have given gays the freedom of marriage and let them out of the closet. And we are giving rights and money to illegals. Are you affraid the people of the areas do not know how to vote without big brother? I would say the people in charge 50 years ago are not in power or dead.

If you look at the stats coal usuage has declined sense 1987. Coal has other usuage besides energy. Plus we sell alot of coal overseas. That is why preident jerk weed is trying to run other countries and they will tell him to piss off. And the cost to reclaim natural gas is higher. But you would like to see 500,000 more out of work. You are a true patriot.

No, they are much more institutionalized now.
Well Duh wrote:

It's not about big government. It's about ensuring that everyone has the right to vote and those 9 states have a proven track record of trying to limit those rights.
Well Duh wrote:

Those "leaps" were made because of laws like the voting act. Not out of the goodness of anyone's heart.
Well Duh wrote:

So what if they play the race card? What possible difference does that make...especially since there is no such thing as the "race card."

It's not a matter of knowing how to vote. I am sure they know that. It's about making sure there is the right to vote.

Amazing. We live in a time when we give the government the right to spy on us, but we won't give them the power to make sure everyone gets to vote. You don't see a problem with that?

In her dissent, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg writes the "sad irony" of Roberts' decision is that it strikes down the key part of the Voting Rights Act because it has been so successful at preventing racial discrimination. "Throwing out preclearance when it has worked and is continuing to work is like throwing away your umbrella in a rainstorm because you are not getting wet," she writes. Ginsburg also slams the court's majority for relying on turnout and registration rates "as if that were the whole story" and ignoring so-called second-generation laws and regulations designed to make it harder for minorities to vote.(One such Mississippi regulation sought to cancel a local election in 2001 because black candidates announced their intention to run.)
