Tired of depressing news?
Smile,
because here is some very positive news: 50 U.S. Senators—both Democrats and Republicans—have pledged to stop Obama’s latest attack on the Second Amendment.
Last week, all 50 senators wrote a letter to Obama pledging not to ratify the United Nations’ Arms Trade Treaty. In order for this treaty to be ratified, it would need 60 “yay” votes in the Senate. This means, gun owners will not need to forfeit their God-given right to self-defense and President Obama is on notice that his latest attack on the Second Amendment is dead on arrival in the Senate.
This fall, the Obama administration signed the U.N. Arms Trade Treaty. As I warned gun owners in August, this treaty undermines your Second Amendment rights, places international law on a pedestal above our Constitution and encourages the creation of a national gun registry.

Never Thought I’d Say This — Sean Hannity Admits Huge Mistake, Does the Right Thing

Some of you may have heard about an incident a few days ago where Sean Hannity called the “Obamacare” hotline to ask a few questions about the healthcare law. Well, the woman who was unfortunate enough to take his call (which he publicly broadcast) was fired for speaking with Mr. Hannity.

Granted, she did her job, but he also goaded her further for comments she probably shouldn’t have disclosed. That’s entirely on him and was irresponsible on his part, though I don’t believe for a minute he was trying to get her fired. But that’s exactly what ended up happening.

In a pathetic display by the HR department behind the Marketplace website, the woman Hannity spoke with was promptly escorted to their office soon after their exchange and fired. For what reason, exactly? Well,“contact with the media” is apparently not allowed.

Okay, I can understand that. These people are there for consumer questions and help signing up, not to waste time talking to the media about the website. If someone working there goes out of their way to talk to the media, I could see why they would be fired. I’ve worked for retail stores that made me sign agreements not to talk about things I would hear or see while working there.

But this women didn’t “contact” the media, the media contacted her. I’m sure at the time she had no idea what she was getting herself into, and was clearly led into the back and forth by Mr. Hannity.

And while I despise the man, again, I don’t believe it was his intention to get the woman in trouble. He was just trying to prove a point, and it ended up costing this poor woman her job.

And it was his fault. He probably should have known that he was risking the job of whoever ended up on the other end of that line. But again, I don’t think he did it with the intention of getting the person fired and I believe that the reason they fired her was complete garbage.

Here comes the unprecedented part — upon hearing this news Sean Hannity actually did the right thing. He pledged to donate a year’s salary for what the woman would have made at the job ($26,000) and pledged to help her find another job.

Which I’ll applaud him for doing. At least he owned up to the actions which ended up costing this woman her job. While it doesn’t absolve him from the fact that his aggressive attempt to embarrass President Obama and “Obamacare supporters” did cost someone their job, I’ll at least give credit where credit is due and say Hannity admitted his mistake, and he seems to be doing the right thing.

But the fact of the matter is, she should have never been fired in the first place. There’s a difference between “contact with the media” and being blatantly used as a prop for a right-wing media figure.

So, it doesn’t happen often but I commend Sean Hannity for admitting he made a huge mistake, owning up to it and doing the right thing by helping this woman out. Let’s hope he actually follows through with everything he promised.

Sarah Palin Mocks Diabetic Pregnant Woman Who Fainted During Obama Speech, Calls it “Hilarious”

How anyone can call themselves a fan of Sarah Palin baffles me. Sure, I get the hardcore conservatives who’ll cheer almost anything a Republican public figure says, but Sarah Palin is nothing more than a babbling idiot.

During her few years of fame, there’s been no shortage of material showing just how reprehensible she really is as a human being.

But her mocking of a Type 1 diabetic pregnant woman on her Facebook Page just might be the most disgusting thing I’ve ever seen her say.
Let me paste part of what she said, then I’ll continue:

“Whether accurate or not, for some reason I found this hilarious! Am I out of bounds for cracking up when I saw this take on a nauseated Obama fan, her absentminded pal, and our President’s heroics this week? If so, penance paying I’ll accept.”

Honestly, you know the worst part? By the last part of what I just posted, she knew what she posted was disgusting—she just didn’t care. Now I don’t care who you are, or what you believe in politically, mocking the severe health conditions of another human being is inexcusable.

Which is especially pathetic in Palin’s case considering she has a young son who has Down Syndrome. A situation in her personal life some people have actually made jokes about, which she fiercely denounced – and we even sided with Palin against the disgusting attacks veiled as “jokes” levied by some people like Bill Maher.

Then she has the gall to come out on Facebook mocking Karmel Allison, a woman who’s lived with Type 1 diabetes and is currently pregnant, for fainting during the president’s speech.

She even went a bit further by saying she understood why some might feel the whole ordeal was staged, and linked to a conspiracy theorist’s ridiculous article about it. Feeding into the right-wing whack jobs who believe anything and everything to do with President Obama is some kind of “false flag” or conspiracy.

Because when you mock a pregnant woman’s health, why not compound it by feeding into the absurd conspiracy theory being pushed by quite a few on the right that the whole thing was staged?

And if you really want to vomit a little in your mouth, have a look at the comments on her page about this post. You’ll be hard-pressed to find any of these “right-wing Christians” calling her out for her terrible remarks.

Oh, no—they agreed with her. Most of the comments I read on there fully believe the whole thing was staged. That is how far Republicans have fallen. That is how much they hate the president. They really believe he would go to such lengths to make himself look good that he’d stage something such as this? I mean really? That’s how petty these people are?

I guess so.

But at the end of the day what we have is just another prime example of Palin “being Palin.” Which means she was being a disgusting babbling idiot who wouldn’t know how to behave like a decent human being if it was written step by step on her hand.

Racial Rant Against Voting Rights on ‘The Daily Show’ Causes GOP Official to Resign

No matter how old I get, I’ll simply never understand racism. Sure, I get disliking people. I’ve met plenty of people throughout my life that I couldn’t stand. But there’s a difference — I dislike people I’ve gotten to know or have had some kind of interaction with. My dislike for them is based upon the type of person they are, not their skin color.

How someone can look at someone’s skin color and instantly judge them has just simply never made sense to me.

So when I saw some GOP official go on a racial tirade during an interview on The Daily Show, I just didn’t get it. To be willfully ignorant just seems like such a waste of time.

But that’s exactly what I saw when Don Yelton, now former Republican precinct chairman of Buncombe County, N.C., went on The Daily Show and put his ignorance on full display.

During the interview, where the issue of North Carolina’s strict new voter ID laws were brought up, Mr. Yelton showed off the kind of ignorance I see often from Republicans, yet see far less often displayed publicly:

“The law is going to kick the Democrats in the butt. If it hurts a bunch of college kids too lazy to get up off their bohonkas and go get a photo ID, so be it. If it hurts a bunch of whites, so be it. If it hurts a bunch of lazy blacks that want the government to give them everything, so be it.”
Oh, but he rejects the claim that he’s a racist because, as he put it, one of his “best friends is black.”

Yes, he actually said that. Probably the most cliché line uttered by racists when trying to claim they’re not racist—he actually said with a straight face. It reminds me of the time I met a woman who claimed she wasn’t a racist, she would just prefer that our president be white. Nah, not racist at all.

Well, following his controversial comments, Mr. Yelton was forced to resign from his position as precinct chairman.

But the fact is, his comments weren’t just racist. I really believe they express the real attitude behind this movement by many Republican-controlled states that have passed these strict new voter ID laws.

They hope these laws “kick Democrats in the butt.” They hope it “hurts” college kids. They hope it “hurts” poor people. Sure, he called them lazy, but by “lazy” they really mean poor.

It’s a pull from their rhetoric they use to describe people on welfare. Remember, to many Republicans, people on welfare don’t need help—they’re lazy people looking for a free handout.

Which is basically the attitude Mr. Yelton expressed during his interview. He wants these laws to hurt the “lazy”(aka poor) people.

And while Republican officials in North Carolina have condemned his remarks, I absolutely believe what he said is the exact way most conservatives feel about these laws.

These laws aren’t about preventing voter fraud — which isn’t even remotely an issue anywhere in the country — they’re about trying to keep individuals that often don’t vote Republican from being able to vote at all.

It’s voter suppression—period.

Republicans can try to spin it any which way they want, but these laws are about suppressing voters that don’t vote for their party.

So while I’m sure Republicans publicly will denounce his remarks, which is evident by his quick resignation, I fully believe that what he said represents the real attitude of most Republicans.

http://www.forwardprogressives.com/racial-ran...

Everyday one steps up and proves without a doubt what racist, bigots they really are. Much like the idiots here.

NEXT?

Trying to “Prove” His Lie Against “Obamacare,” Texas Rep. Barton Debunks Himself on Facebook Page

Last night on CNN, New Jersey Representative Frank Pallone went head to head with Texas Representative Joe Barton to address their heated exchange during yesterday’s House Energy and Commerce Committe hearing. During that hearing yesterday morning, Barton tried to perpetuate the myth that the Marketplace is violating HIPAA laws, while Pallone called him out for blatantly trying to mislead Americans.

Of course the actual back and forth got us nowhere, with both gentlemen claiming that they were right. It did, however, prompt a promise by Rep. Barton to post on his Facebook page the part of the disclaimer he claims violates HIPAA.

Well, true to his word, he did just that.

There’s only one problem—his “proof” just shows that he has absolutely no idea what he’s talking about.

The Terms and Conditions agreement does have the wording Barton used, except he took it completely out of context and didn’t read the full part of it. Though he did post it on his page.

The disclaimer reads:
You have no reasonable expectation of privacy regarding any information transiting or stored on this information system. At any time, and for any lawful government purpose, the government may monitor, intercept, and search and seize any communication or data transiting or stored on this information system. Any communication or data transiting or stored on this information system may be disclosed or used for any lawful government purpose.

Two things.

First, the word “lawful” is written twice.

Violating HIPAA would be unlawful, therefore not allowed. Second, you don’t input any HIPAA-related information while signing up on the Marketplace to begin with. Yes, you have to put your Social Security number and answer a few very basic health questions like “Are you currently disabled?” or for women “Are you currently pregnant?” These are not intrusive questions about your medical conditions.

Hell, I answer more invasive questions when getting a new auto insurance quote.

So Barton’s “proof” is only evidence of his blatant fear mongering or complete inability to comprehend what he’s reading.

The passage he posted on his Facebook page says the government must act lawfully (violating HIPAA would be unlawful) and it’s only for the data you enter on the website—none of that data falls under HIPAA standards anyway.

So when Rep. Pallone called out Barton’s antics during the website hearings, he was absolutely right. Barton’s claims are baseless and meant to stir up fear in those who react to what they hear rather than research what they hear.

It’s a clear attempt by Barton, and the Republican party, to try to make Americans fearful of going to the website and signing up for health insurance.
But at the end of the day, Barton’s “proof” only proved his own ignorance.

http://www.forwardprogressives.com/trying-to-...

Most idiots like him, as well as the ones here, have "absolutely no idea what he’s talking about" and "blatant fear mongering or complete inability to comprehend what he’s reading".

Yep, that's what they do best, just like the house weeper:

Boehner Tweets Link Showing Obamacare Works —
After Voting to Repeal It for the 40th Time
While Republicans are rarely known for making a whole lot of sense, a tweet I saw from House Speaker John Boehner yesterday really takes the cake. In an apparent attempt to claim that the Affordable Care Act, aka “Obamacare,” will raise health care premiums for Ohioans by 41%, Boehner actually tweeted a link to a story that shows premiums will go down for most people in the state.

Proof Obama’s Fainting Lady was Faked in 3 Minutes

You will see in the following video that the pregnant woman is standing with a friend who is holding her hand with her arm wrapped around her waist. That is until she starts to “faint”. Then she steps slightly aside and never even looks at the women she is holding. She smiles a nervous smile for the camera because she has done her part in this extremely poorly orchestrated drama.

It's somewhat important that our President puts his hand on a supposedly fainting woman, says "I've got you, you're OK", then turn back and makes a "joke" out of it. If real she could have been having a serious medical condition - a heart attack, a focal seizure, a miscarriage; how did he know she was OK?

Did he heal her![ha ha ha]

rdrodd1 @ arrowsmithwoman
That's a very good point. You don't witness someone about to black out and do nothing about it. They should have at least sat her down and check her out especially being pregnant.

Hey RC Co-Cola! Agreed on all points, especially the "too chilly too soon". I'm a fairly pragmatic person, but I'll admit to being in denial about winter...lol. Just not ready for it yet!
Yeah, I hate that I missed ILiH, too. Such a smart, witty young woman.
Looks like Governor Beshear has brought some more jobs to the state - 150 new jobs near Florence.
Hope you have a great day too!
He sure beats that bumbling idiot Fletcher. I think he will be a big help to Alison on getting the DEM votes for KENTUCKY.

I am so chilly today. Heat blasting, coffee still going, and about to fix some chili and grilled cheese for lunch before tackling that closet again. I have 2 down and one to go. haha

I love to read ILIH's comments. She gets them riled just with her avatar. hahaha, bunch of idiots.

Thanks on the great day. I plan to make it that way after all the chores are done. lol

Hey Jethro. We didn't get to see any donkeys - your mom was using them in her show.
