GREAT posts, as always! Loved the GOP's signing up for ACA, the Kentucky numbers from Governor Beshear, and the donated Congressional salaries (and yeah, is Yarmuth a peach or what?). The Lizard King one was just flippin' weird and the regressive tweeter should be kicked to the curb.
I know I've said it before, but it bears repeating. Your posts rock, chick. I can't keep up with a lot of that info, so to be able to come here and read it is awesome. Thanks!
Hey Crow, sorry I missed your post. I got into watching The Daily Show and Steven Colbert and fell asleep. Thanks on the posts. I will keep posting them despite the repukes and the COWARD IMPOSTER that can't take the truth and respond with their ignorance full blown.

I did not know that about Yarmuth. I am quite impressed with him. One who represents the people of KENTUCKY and not himself. I loved your posts from the night before. How A Rand Paul Republican From Alabama Learned To Love Obamacare

Joshua Pittman is a 31-year-old self-employed videographer from Montgomery, Alabama. A libertarian Republican who voted for Ron Paul in 2012 and believes that Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) is the future of the GOP, Pittman sees Barack Obama’s presidency as a “failure” who hasn’t lived up to the nation’s expectations.

But on Tuesday morning, Pittman logged on to HealthCare.gov and after some initial glitches and delays, successfully enrolled in a Bronze-level Obamacare health insurance plan.“It took me all day, really,” he says with a laugh.“It kicked me out and told me you have to try again, but I knew what I was getting into with so many people exploring it.”

Though he initially supported repealing the law, Pittman became curious about Obamacare in the days and weeks before it launched. For years, he had gone uninsured, thinking he’d be able to “get over anything with a bandaid and a six pack of beer.”

But a lead poisoning incident earlier this year shook his confidence and bank account, leading him with tens of thousands of dollars in medical bills.“I was a healthy person and it really depleted me financially, so it made me look at things in a different way than I would before. I understood the importance of people being insured.”

“I’ve seen first hand people hitting up the emergency room for free health care and then putting a burden on [everyone else] and that’s not something I would want to do, I want to take personal responsibility … By no means am I trying to take a government handout…it’s not a free handout, you’re paying for this health care, but it’s making it more accessible to more people.”

Asked what he liked about Obamacare, Pittman highlighted its prohibition against denying coverage to people with pre-existing conditions, noting that he wouldn’t be able to find coverage without it, and said that the policies offered in the marketplace seemed more affordable and comprehensive than those available to him on the individual market.“You may pay $18 a month [for a cheaper plan] and you’re missing level of coverage. It’s not as easy as you’re going to pay this much a month,” he says.

Government data shows that premiums for an individual Blue Cross and Blue Shield Bronze-level plan in Montgomery County, Alabama averages $160 per month for a 27-year old. An older adult will pay $273 per month.

Pittman doesn’t believe that Obamacare is perfect, but says Republicans in Congress should stop trying to repeal the law and give it a chance to work.“As a Republican, I think [the GOP's repeal effort] is childish and I think this is the wrong way to lead… it’s babyish and I think as a party it just reflects negatively upon us,” he explains.

He predicts that other conservatives will set aside their party politics and do what they feel is best for themselves and their families.“I think there are Republicans that are all types of people who are making these decisions and they’re not basing them on political party. It’s just common sense kind of things. And I think that’s the only way we’re going to make a change in this country if people start thinking on those lines, instead of political party lines.”

Breaking news: Washington D.C.It was concluded this morning that the person trying to breach White House security yesterday was in fact a Democrat. Investigative journalists used the following rationale in their investigation.
1. She was black
2. Killing her baby was never a passing thought to her.
3. She was from Connecticut.
4. She was driving around in the middle of a work day.
5. She fantasized about Obama stalking her.

Poll: Three-quarters of Americans want shutdown to end

Washington (CNN)– More than seven out of 10 Americans disapprove of the government shutdown, and they say they're angrier than they've been about the way things are going in Washington.

The CBS News poll, which was conducted after the shutdown began and was released Thursday night, indicates 72% of Americans are not in favor of the shutdown that resulted from disagreements over the federal health care law.

As the country enters day four of the shutdown, no progress has been made in Congress to reach an agreement to restore funding to the federal government and bring back more than 800,000 furloughed employees.

The GOP-dominated House has been trying to push through a series of small bills to fund various entities of the government bit by bit. But Senate Democrats and the White House have made it abundantly clear they will accept nothing less than a proposal that funds the government all at once.

Nearly half of the country (43%) is "angry" with the way things are going in Washington, the highest in CBS News polling. Slightly more (44%) are simply "dissatisfied," while 8% are "satisfied" and 2% are "enthusiastic."

But who's to blame? The survey indicates both parties share blame, but 44% of Americans think Republicans are at fault, while 35% say Democrats and President Obama are responsible for the shutdown. Seventeen percent blame both.

That falls in line with a CNN/ORC International Poll released Monday that also shows Republicans will be blamed more than Democrats for the standoff.

The country is split on when they think the shutdown will end. Just over half (51%) say the standoff will be resolved in the near future, while 42% say it will "take a long time."

About one in five Americans (21%) say the priority for Congress should be to stop Obamacare from taking effect, while 73% say lawmakers' top job right now is to get the government running again.
Nearly half (47%) say they are personally affected by the shutdown and 50% say they're not affected.
CBS News interviewed 1,021 Americans by telephone from October 1-2. The poll's sampling error is plus or minus three percentage points.

Michele Bachmann Calls Obamacare The ‘Crack Cocaine Of Dependency’

Republican bobble-head #1 Michele Bachmann made the following rather savory comments during an interview in WorldNetDaily the other day:

“I think the reason is because President Obama can’t wait to get Americans addicted to the crack cocaine of dependency on more government health care…once they enroll millions of more individual Americans, it will be virtually impossible for us to pull these benefits back from people. All they want to do is buy love from people by giving them massive government subsidies.”

The problems with this statement are obvious, and well-documented: the dog-whistle racism, the coded language, the absurdly false equivalences, and so on. The fact that this woman and people like her continue to have any credibility whatsoever is yet another indicator of just how dangerously insane the Republican party has become, and how much they’ve hijacked the so-called ‘liberal’ media establishment in America. What’s not been explored, however, is the remarkable tendency of Bachmann to provide the occasional, almost oracular glimpse into her party’s pathology, and the rationale behind their constant, incomprehensible displays of hysteria, particularly surrounding the issue of the Affordable Care Act.

Of particular note is her remark that “once they [who exactly is 'they', anyway? The government? Hell, I don't know who 'they is, and I'm not sure she does, either] enroll millions of more individual Americans, it will be virtually impossible for us to pull these benefits back from people.” However tone deaf and trailer-trash-tasteless her remarks might be in sum total, this specific utterance speaks the real truth about why the Republicans so vehemently oppose the Affordable Care Act, and of their dogged pursuit of its repeal: they are afraid of the law’s potential for lasting success and popularity after it takes effect, and their inability to dismantle it because of that.

Think about it: if the GOP knows for certain that the ACA is a legislative doomsday device, one that will wreak financial havoc the moment the clock strikes midnight on January 1st, and that its piss-poor performance will deliver Obama’s already beleaguered approval rating straight to the firing squad, then why not let the bill go live, stand back and bear witness to the debacle, then laugh their way through a mid-term electoral landslide in 2014? Because that’s not what’s going to happen, and they know it. You can see the fear in Bachmann’s beady, hollow eyes; the GOP has lost this battle, and their refusal to admit it will cost them dearly in the coming mid-term elections.
Obamacare is fraught with problems, to be sure.

But despite its imperfections, the Affordable Care Act is going to help millions of Americans get the care they and their families so desperately need, and break the stranglehold private, for-profit industries have over their health and well-being.

This is the Republicans’ greatest fear: empowering the public makes them a threat to the security of not just the Republican Party, but to that of the elite, ultra-wealthy constituency they are beholden to, and as we have seen with the current government shutdown, they will go to any lengths to maintain the security of their masters, even shooting the hostage.

"A large proportion of these unemployed and their dependents have been forced on the relief rolls. The burden on the Federal Government has grown with great rapidity. We have here a human as well as an economic problem. When humane considerations are concerned, Americans give them precedence. The lessons of history, confirmed by the evidence immediately before me, show conclusively that continued dependence upon relief induces a spiritual disintegration fundamentally destructive to the national fiber. Stupidity goes from top to bottom in the Republican Party.

Explains why the majority of the country is against them.

And it's very funny that the son of stupid name doesn't show up any more. I'm sure it has something to do with grading papers, some huge IT contract he has, a purchase of 100's of horses for his FarmVille ranch..... The made up possibilities are endless.:-D

No way to spin it. Bush inherited a strong economy. And look what he did with it.

Obama and democrats stopped the hemorrhaging, republicans have fought it from day one. Mitch McConnell said it himself, his goal was to make Obama a one term president. Why has his goal never been to improve our country??
