Republican Party Platform of 1956
August 20, 1956

Declaration of Faith

America's trust is in the merciful providence of God, in whose image every man is created ... the source of every man's dignity and freedom.

In this trust our Republic was founded. We give devoted homage to the Founding Fathers. They not only proclaimed that the freedom and rights of men came from the Creator and not from the State, but they provided safeguards to those freedoms.

Our Government was created by the people for all the people, and it must serve no less a purpose.

The Republican Party was formed 100 years ago to preserve the Nation's devotion to these ideals.

On its Centennial, the Republican Party again calls to the minds of all Americans the great truth first spoken by Abraham Lincoln: "The legitimate object of Government is to do for a community of people whatever they need to have done but cannot do at all, or cannot so well do, for themselves in their separate and individual capacities. But in all that people can individually do as well for themselves, Government ought not to interfere."

Our great President Dwight D. Eisenhower has counseled us further: "In all those things which deal with people, be liberal, be human. In all those things which deal with people's money, or their economy, or their form of government, be conservative."

While jealously guarding the free institutions and preserving the principles upon which our Republic was founded and has flourished, the purpose of the Republican Party is to establish and maintain a peaceful world and build at home a dynamic prosperity in which every citizen fairly shares.

We shall ever build anew, that our children and their children, without distinction because of race, creed or color, may know the blessings of our free land.

We believe that basic to governmental integrity are unimpeachable ethical standards and irreproachable personal conduct by all people in government. We shall continue our insistence on honesty as an indispensable requirement of public service. We shall continue to root out corruption whenever and wherever it appears.

and so on ...

Wow, I spank you so frequently you have to bring new socks to the debate! I predicted that before the Trayvon verdict...and so another prediction was dead on target! Hillary's mini series is ramping up (another of my predictions). Looks like they think they don't have to give equal time for opposition if they do it "before" she makes a formal declaration...they are not even interested in right and wrong at this point! The Screw America Cheerleaders are gearing up hill-a-palooza a couple of years early!

She will begin to distance herself from Obama with a fake issue of contention...Benghazi? NSA? IRS?

Lets watch this develop, and see if Americans are tired of being manipulated by spin doctors who got their PHD from Micky D with a happy meal!

Democrats argue that deficit spending was needed to combat the 2008 recession, but what did taxpayers get for their money? According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, unemployment averaged 5.26 percent during the Bush years. The average during the Obama years was 9.26 percent.
Even more telling is the fact that the Civilian Labor Force Participation Rate, the percentage of Americans working, has declined from 67.2 percent in January 2001 to 65.7 in January 2009 and to 63.8 percent in May 2012. According to Multpl.com , the U.S. population increased in each of those years, from 285 million in 2001 to 306 million in 2009. The U.S. population now stands at 313 million according to the U.S. Census. This means that fewer total Americans are working now than when President Obama took office even though the population has increased by 7 million. When President Bush left office 20.1 million Americans were working. Today only 19.9 million are in spite of a population growth of seven million.
Even though the Great Recession officially ended in June 2009, five months into Obama’s presidency and three years ago, the economy and the job markets have not recovered. By many measures, the economy is worse today than it was three years ago. The Federal Reserve announced last week that American wealth had decreased by 40 percent between 2007 and 2011. Home prices, which crashed in 2008, have not recovered and continue to decline in many markets. The Wall St. Journal reports that economists are “increasingly pessimistic” and more are predicting that the stagnant recovery will turn into another recession.
http://www.examiner.com/article/bush-vs-obama...
You make my point about Repubs denying that in 2008 the US economy collapsed. The last month Bush was in office, Jan. 2009, there were 839,000 jobs lost. What part of this do you Repubs just not get? Look at the difference between what Clinton handed Bush and Bush handed Obama was. Repubs have lost all memory of anything. Economy, 2 stupid wars for nothing, largest debt in US history, largest deficit spending in US history. You people act as though none of these things ever happened.

16 Reasons Why Hillary Clinton Will Win 2016
Sorry, folks, this race is over. Conservative Myra Adams lists the many reasons Hillary will win the White House in 2016—from gross media bias to groupthink and barrels of money.
By the standards of “political time,” where in one day a candidate can go from frontrunner to underdog, the 2016 presidential election is decades away. But from this vantage point, all signs point to Hillary Clinton coasting to the Democrat Party nomination and winning the White House.
As a lifelong Republican, I am not pleased with my own prediction—nothing would thrill me more than if a conservative were to win back the presidency. But my political reality instincts lead me to believe the following.(And I’ve been right before: in January 2011, I cowrote “12 Reasons Obama Wins in 2012.”)

Unless there is a radical change of circumstances within the Republican Party and its crop of presidential wannabes, or some unforeseen cataclysmic national event that dramatically alters the current economic and political landscape, or a serious deterioration in her health, Hillary has it locked up.

Here are 16 reasons why Hillary Clinton is poised to be elected thhttp://www.thedailybeast.com /articles/2013/08/03/16-reason s-why-hillary-clinton-will-win -2016.htmle next president of the United States, in order of importance.

.Benghazi? NSA? IRS?.... All these things will be just like all the birthers were in 2012. The majority of voters will just look at it as the same barking dogs. Benghazi. 4 people dead compared to other Presidents that had hundreds and even 3000 Americans killed by terrorist. Not a bad record.
NSA. Any of you Repubs come up with the number of government employees it would take to look at the 3 to 4 BILLION calls and emails made each day in the US. I guess that's a Repub math thing like the 16,000 new IRS agents.
IRS. Big deal. Most of America has no problem that folks like Karl Rove had to prove he wasn't going to use American CrossRoads for a political agenda. Plus the fact the head of the IRS was appointed by Bush really doesn't help the "scandal" theory either.
You Repubs are barking mad just like Don Trump. All for show.

Eric Cantor Looks To Entitlement Cuts For Sequester Compromise

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) said Sunday that Republicans might be willing to compromise on sequester cuts in exchange for talks on reducing entitlement programs.

"What we need to have happen is leadership on the part of this president and the White House to come to the table finally and say we're going to fix the underlying problem that's driving our deficit," Cantor told Fox News' Chris Wallace. "We know that is the entitlement programs and the unfunded liability that they are leaving on this generation and the next."We've always said sequester is not the best way to go about spending reductions. It was, as you know, a default mechanism, because Congress couldn't do the job it was supposed to a couple of years ago," Cantor said.Cantor isn't the first high-ranking Republican to suggest the party is open to sequestration relief in exchange for a focus on entitlements such as Social Security and Medicare.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has expressed similar sentiments, telling the National Review,“You want sequester relief? Then let's talk about a reduction in entitlement spending."Congressional Democrats have expressed little enthusiasm for the idea.

“Our caucus would not accept entitlement cuts to replace the sequester -– that’s just replacing crappy cuts with crappy cuts,” one top Democratic aide told The Huffington Post in response to McConnell's plan.

The problem with people like Paul and his "you're own your own" is where would America be? No Federal programs that built the Infrastructure that allowed America to become what it did. This country was established by rugged individuals, this country was not established by community organizers and Liberal Propagandists. The only infrastructure that was government subsidized back then was the Railroads...and they were as corrupt as Obama's administration is now.
If you didn't plow, hunt, or contribute in some way you perished.
