<quoted text>Maybe, therein lies the problem. Education should be considered a privilege, not a right, entitlement, etc,,,, as it is in the many countries that kick out asses every year. Hence the difference with private schools, it IS a privilege to attend, therefor the scores, participation by students, parents, & teachers, and the overall experience is greater than govt schools.
So public schools are not the problem it is just the attitude of some people in them? I can agree to that. Now what do you suggest we do with that information?

Gotta wonder why this country is going broke, we're buying guns and lottery tickets for those that won't/don't work. Geez, go figure.
Please show how my words lead you to this ridiculous conclusion?

Not sure why you jumped from the issue of denying the constitutional right of freedom of expression to lying about what I am. Likely because you lost the arguement and now wish to create a diversion like you always do.

Knowing someone who died in the attack does not make you correct.
I believe Bush failed and I believe Obama failed in preventing the attacks.
The difference I see is the massive difference in the number of people who died, health hazards caused, property damage done and the fact one was on the homeland.
What part of "Stevens was sent" BECAUSE it was a hot zone do you not understand? That is why your "comparison" is not valid. Clinton said that in front of Congress. Bush didn't know the towers, DC and the Pentagon were "hot zones." Bush didn't SEND people there.

And if you truly believed your rhetoric of "once born in America" line, then why so serious about socialism?
Every has the right to try or fail. As you eloquently point out, there are no absolutes, right? If you truly believed that then there wouldn't be any need for entitlements for the "economically challenged" folk because of their inability to manage their wealthy or money because that would be considered an absolution to their survival.
You fundamentally fail to understand my philosophy.
Now show what absolutes or lack of absolutes I am contradicting? Seems to me it is you who is wishing for absolutes in the situation. You wish for those who fail to be good with money to die because they did not win. Can you get any more absolutist than this?
I wish for safety nets because this is not a game and I have empathy for those who are not the best players. You do not, because you are like a psychopath.
I have no wish to be like a psychopath. WWJD?

Pointing out motives is not blaming the persons who caused the motivation.
I fully support the right to make a movie showing religion as flawed.
Now the movie in question was edited by someone who did not actually make the movie. I think some copyright infringements occured.

If Bush did not know the towers were a target for terrorists, he should never have been elected president. Maybe he did not know the towers were attackedless than a decade earlier, he is pretty damned ignorant of history. Maybe Bush did not read the PDB that was titled "Bin Laden determined to attack the United States" and went on to say hijackings may be one means to do so.

I have no idea what you are talking about with Stevens being sent. Can you articulate a full thought or are you thoughts that broken up?

VP Joe Biden admits yesterday that new gun control laws won't work!

"Nothing we’re going to do is going to fundamentally alter or eliminate the possibility of another mass shooting or guarantee that we will bring gun deaths down to 1,000 a year from what it is now,” Biden told reporters Thursday afternoon after he spent over an hour lunching with Democratic senators at the Capitol.

If they're not going to work, as the FBI reported weeks ago, then why waste the time and money debating the issue?
This is the bait. After admitting additional gun laws will not work I would not be surprised if he and the administration attempt to seek more drastic measures like total disarmament of guns.

Evidently you have no idea what "proficient" means.

Now I do not wish to be a hypocrite like yourself, so I will post some links.

The Newsweek Magazine poll "What America Knows", conducted Princeton Survey Research Associates International, regularly asks American citizens a wide range of questions relating to world events past and present and a number of more trivial questions of general knowledge.[7] On five occasions the following question has been asked:
"Do you think Saddam Husseins regime in Iraq was directly involved in planning, financing, or carrying out the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001?" September 2003 responses: 47% Yes, 37% No, 16% not sure.
January 2004 responses: 49% Yes, 39% No, 12% not sure.
September 2004 responses: 42% Yes, 44% No, 14% not sure.
October 2004 responses: 36% Yes, 51% No, 13% not sure.
June 2007 responses: 41% Yes, 50% No, 9% not sure.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opinion_polls_ab...

New York Times / CBS News have conducted a number of polls on the Iraq War that have included the question:
"Was Saddam personally involved in 9/11?"[10] April 2003 responses: 53% said Yes, 38% said No.
October 2005 responses: 33% said Yes, 55% said No.
September 2006 responses: 31% said Yes, 57% said No.
September 2007 responses: 33% said Yes, 58% said No.

A poll reported in the Washington Post in September 2003 found that nearly 70 percent of respondents believed Saddam Hussein was probably personally involved in the attacks.[19]

OK. I am struggling to understand your logic, if you have any.. Help me.

I have already agreed that spending on social programs is expensive and has to stop IF we ever decide to address the national debt, which greatly concerns us both. So if you support spending cuts to social programs, as you say you do, then why do you argue against me saying the same thing?
Now , I have already shown that IF ALL SPENDING ON EVERYTHING were stopped today, that it would take 11+ years to pay off the debt IF our credit was NOT downgraded and if interest rates did not go up, and if taxes collections remained constant . Obviously, we have to have some government to collect the taxes or people wouldn't pay. So if I suppose that you have made new discoveries in finance previously undiscovered, exactly how do you propose to pay off that debt simply by cutting out spending?
I would like to see numbers because I have difficulty following BS.
Pro-American wrote:
<quoted text>You are delusional. Over the past 50 years, the tax revenue has remained the same, averaging about 18% of the GDP. During that same span, federal spending has increased from less than 20% to more than 25% of the GDP! The Commucrats like to blame the national defense but in '62 the defense expenditures were 50% of the budget, today it's 19%. What accounts for most of the federal spending? That's right, it's the Commucrat's precious entitlement programs! In '62, entitlement spending was 31% of the budget, today it's 62%! Medicare, Medicaid, & SS take take up 44% of the budget alone and even worse, these programs are the most rapidly growing spending areas of the govt! By denying these FACTS makes YOU and YOUR PARTY THE PROBLEM!
I take back what I said earlier, I now know the Commucrats are implementing the Cloward-Pivens strategy!

Senior military leader that Obama is using a new litmus test in determining who will stay and who will go in his military leaders. The new test of leadership in the military is if they will fire on US citizens or not.

Posted by Mike then a response from Lu:

Mike Duquette wrote:
<quoted text>I do not see being on welfare as winning. Being on welfare is simply surviving.
Would it be more motivating for one to work if welfare did not exist? Probably, but note that in nations with no welfare, people do starve and live in horrible conditions. I just feel no one should live in such conditions. I know you have no empathy for these people and thus I get why you hate welfare. This understanding of you is not going to make me want to take welfare safety nets from the people. It is going to make my resolve for it stronger.
Again, being on welfare is not living the good life. It is barely surviving.

Post from Lu to Mike:

Mike, I see both sides of this issue but is there a solution? I know people who admit they will not take a job because: I make more if "I draw", I'm gonna take the gov. for everything I can, or (this one is my fav,) I only work for cash 'cause I get a check. I SWEAR I have heard each and every one of these excuses. Lady came in the store a couple weeks ago bought about $200. in ammo and is on a list for 2 Glocks. Asked me if we "were hiring" said "I ask everyone, I have to to keep drawing". Could it be that finally people are abusing that system and it's out of hand?

Now Mike if people are on welfare or unemployment should they be buying guns, lottery tickets and scratch offs. Your comment that your resolve is even stronger to make sure safety nets are in place is ridiculous. Guns, lottery tickets, and such are not necessities for living. Do you even know or care how these people spend their money? It's not even their money, it's ours, the taxpayers and people like you want to make sure they have a safety net? Geez.

The three primary indicators of Barack Obamas larger agenda are his call for a Civilian National Police Force, his recent push for disarming the American people through his gun control proposals, and now reports of his screening senior military leaders for their willingness to kill American civilians.

You answered your own question. They say to hell with constituents , lobbyist pay better. That is why they (republikans) call un announced post midnight emergency sessions to vote in bills at 1:00 am in the morning which later have to be overturned by the courts because they violate the constitution of the USA and the State of NC. The party of stupid is determined to make North Carolina the state of stupid.
Pro-American wrote:
<quoted text>Along the same lines as Bacon, has any representative from the state of NC come home to have town halls with their constituents to discuss the issues or bills that they may be voting on or do they say to hell with my constituents, the lobbyist pay better?
I for one wanted the govt to go over the "fiscal curb" but my representatives caved in and voted otherwise......which will be my choice as well in 2014!
